1. Orangefield, nuff said.
2. Take the Jimmy Johnson exit, turn left on Jimmy Johnson, go past the golf course, then turn right on 9th Avenue. School is about a 1/2 mile down 9th Avenue on right.
3.
I would love to see it but I cannot imagine that it could ever happen.  I just don't know how they can justify it. I read a while back that someone overheard Coach McGallion say that he would never see turf on that field in his lifetime.  Don't know if he said it or not but I would tend to agree.
Never say never. ;) From the info I have gathered and talking to the people in the know (school board, AD) it's being discussed very seriously. There was a presentation a couple of meetings ago and a turf company has already come out to do the measuring and analysis. Like I said, a few things have to be taken care of, but don't be surprised if it's done before football season.
4. This is not a Region III poll, but just a SETX poll. That's why there are other classifications in the poll. Admit it, you just can't stand a poll without Brenham being involved. ;) ;D
5. A team can nominate any senior player. Doesn't necessarily have to be the best player.

WOS..beat Kelly and competed with Jasper
I would agree with this for OUR area teams who play each other on a consistent basis.
Easy now....don't get so offensive.  Have your area, but wheather you like it or not....If you're 4A, more than likely you're gonna be playing US eventually.....
Which is irrelevant to this poll. ::) It's an SETX poll, when did Brenham get involved in this poll?
7. Bullets, being first in these pickem's is old hat for me. I come to expect it and so should you. ;) ;D
8. Here they are Gabe. I did not put out an area or quarterfinal pickem due to time constraints.
9. Nonsense? I think most folks with any kind of basketball intelligence would say that A&M had no business losing to tu in Austin. That's the first time I have ever seen a team win a game where they never led at any time for the entire regulation. tu tied the game at the end, then won it in OT. A&M lost that game more than tu won it. But, a win is a win. I still say A&M is the better team. Not most talented, but better team of the two.
10.
Will Silsbee get turf in their stadiuim for this comming season have rumors.
Still being discussed at board meetings. It has hit a couple of bumps in the road. Trying to get all the ducks in a row. ;)
11. I'll take the coaches opinions on this subject. ;)
12. Why is Barry Bonds even part of this conversation? Get back on topic please.
13. Good stuff Chad, right on the money. Trust me, after talking to Travis, Silsbee will not overlook WOS. I really look for them to have a tough game with the Mustangs, but their experience will prevail in the end. Tigers take it, 63-53. Nothing will ever surprise me about HJ. If they beat Cleveland, it may be an upset in most folks minds, but nothing monumental. HJ definitely has the coaching edge and that goes a very long way. New Waverly beating Kountze would not surprise me. Coach Billy Goffney has looked at this date all season. He knows exactly what he has to do to win, get Brey on the bench. On the flip side, Duane knows what he has to do, keep Brey on the floor. A part of me wants to go to this game because I think it's the best matchup in the state for the quarterfinal round. I have also gotten to know Billy and Duane much better this year and would really like to see them in action against each other. This should be a great game, with Kountze coming out on top. I really love this Spurger team. You will not find better kids than what Coach Issacs has there at Spurger. The Pirates starting 5 is as solid as it gets. I really like how these kids play and how they are coached. They are truely a team, no prima donnas here. I think we'll see Spurger in Austin (and I don't mean just for their regional tourney)
14. Right way, wrong way to play? What does that have to do with this discussion? BTW, my comments were to get Gabe to respond. He loves his Cards. ;D I know the game, played the game on the high school and collegiate level. I know the right way to play.
15. There's no crying in baseball. ;)
16. In 5A Region III Of the 8 teams remaining, 4 of them are Fort Bend schools. FB Travis FB Elkins FB Bush FB Dulles Bad thing, Travis plays Elkins and Bush plays Dulles tomorrow night, so two will get eliminated. Good thing, Fort Bend is guarenteed 2 teams in the regional tourney. Class 4A Region III Six of the remaining 8 teams are #1 seeds, other two are #2 seeds. The cream has risen to the top in Region III class 4A with Yates definitely being the cherry. Class 3A Region III Only 3 district champs remain out of the 8 teams.(Cleveland, Fairfield and Silsbee) 4 runnerups (Crockett, HJ, Hudson, and Mexia) with WOS being the lone 3rd place team left of any school in all of Region III, all classifications. 21-3A the only district with 3 teams still remaining. Class 2A Region III Five #1 seeds left (Arp, Dangerfield, Kountze, New Waverly, Sabine). At least 2 of these top seeds will be eliminated after tomorrow night as Kountze plays New Waverly and Arp plays Dangerfield. Sabine definitely got the best draw being placed in the upper bracket away from Arp, Dangerfield, Kountze and New waverly. Class 1A Div. 1 Region IV Seven of the remaining 8 teams are #1 seeds, including Spurger. The cream is a rising!
17. This will be the third time these two teams have faced each other this season. Stallworth played limited minutes as this was his first game back from an ankle injury that kept him out for 2 weeks.           Game 2, Silsbee's leading scorer Pheal Hill did not play. Barrett started in his place. I posted thse numbers just to give a little perspective on how these two have matched up. Bottom line is, you still have to play the game. Everyone knows that it is tough to beat one team 3 times in the same season. Sometimes, your fortune runs out. This will be a tough game. Any thoughts?
18. For the third time this season, the Tigers and Mustangs will do battle, but this time there is much more at stake. Silsbee, 27-4 and ranked #4, will take on WOS, 21-10, @ PAM tonight @ 7pm in a Class 3A Region III quarterfinal with the winner advancing to the regional tourney in Huntsville. Silsbee defeated WOS both times in district play, 84-59 @WOS and 58-44 @Silsbee. Broadcast time will start at 6:50pm with tipoff to follow at 7pm. 19. I find it really unusual (and hard to believe) that a player would have so much dislike for his coaches in just one year. These are the same guys he was loving when they recruited him just over a year ago. Sounds like a personal problem to me. Somebody not getting his way and now wanting to cry about it.
20. BC may not be a top 5 area team like most think. ;)
21. Sorry I wasn't able to make it out there to give live updates like I had planned. Too many basketball broadcasts to do right now. Hopefully I'll catch a couple of meets later on in the season.
