ALL STATE TOURNAMENT TEAMS 2012
AggiesAreWe replied to AggiesAreWe's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Interesting, that pg spot at Jack Yates going to be interesting with Martin making All-State. PG is suppose to be the weakest position or lack of true pg's at that position.
This is not an ALL State team, just All tournament team. Just based on the two games played at the state tourney. -
;D Wonderful College! Proud of you JK! Horn is going to Sherman!
I was on this campus back in December. Silsbee played one of their games there during the Sherman basketball tourney. Very nice campus, very nice facilities. Football stadium is a good one. JK will do great there!! -

Silsbee four year starting linebacker JK Keefer will sign with Austin College and continue his football career. Austin College is a DIII school and I believe got a steal with signing Keefer. Congrats JK and good luck and continue success!!!!!!

Very interesting that South Florida is the second game of the doubleheader after Lamar. Coach Roc is an assistant on the South Florida staff and will be there to watch his former Lamar team play in the NCAA tourney. Talk about irony.

Lamar vs Vermont play in game! Winner gets NC
AggiesAreWe replied to PhatMack19's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
I think the committee got it right. Lamar in a "first round" game is where they should be. Like coachcola stated, a win over Vermont counts as a tournament win. The comparison of Lamar to Harvard is very funny. Harvard clearly had the better season and certainly deserved a better seed than Lamar. -

Silsbee Tigers schedule for next year
AggiesAreWe replied to MBaller#1's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
It's my understanding that Silsbee will remain in the YMBL and Nederland tourneys but replace the Sherman tourney with the Whataburger tourney in DFW. -
FACTS about Yates/Kimball game
AggiesAreWe replied to Dick Vitale's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Coaching did not lose the game for Yates. Poor free throw shooting down the stretch and Kimball hitting two big three's is what cost Yates this championship, not coaching. -

Knight will be at Lamar minimum 4-5 years. I wouldn't be surprised if he sticks around for at least 8 years.

UPDATES FROM FRANK ERWIN CENTER PRESS ROW!!
AggiesAreWe replied to AggiesAreWe's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Well that will do it from the Frank Erwin Center. The 2012 State Tourney is in the books and caps off the 2011-2012 basketball season. It was a great 3 days and 18 games (well technically 17 for me ;)) and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute at press row!! Also got to catch up with lots of friends and made several new ones as well. No-look, it was great to finally meet you. ;D My 41st consecutive trip to the state tourney was yet another great time as always. Hopefully will be right back here next year but with some local teams in tow. BTW, my final count for different teams watched this season finished at 109!!! So long from Austin! -
