Predicting scrimmages? NO ONE WINS OR LOSES SCRIMMAGES!!!!!!!
Says the person who posted a thread about the WOS Nederland SCRIMMAGE. Did i ever say anything about winning or losing? No i did not. Don't get your panties in a wad AAW.
I posted a news article about the scrimmage. Never asked for predictions. Just what kind of predictions are you asking for? I predict that each team's 1st and 2nd teams will play. I predict that there will be some running, passing, blocking and tackling. I predict that each team will play hard, each team's coaches will be happy and mad. A team or both will score a TD. I predict there will be fans in the stands. Kids will be playing under the stands. Old men will be reminiscing about their football days. Women will be gossiping. Some fans for both teams will be yelling at the coaches and the officials. I also predict that some fools will predict a win or loss on this thread before the scrimmage will take place Thursday night.

 5.
ya know newton is a lot better than that.Thats on two weeks of practice in scrimmage they givin new guys chances to fill positions, silsbee wouldnt stand a chance late in the season. Also if you look at last years rushing stats you will see that we dominated, compelling over 5000 yards between all three RETURNING starters. And fort the kirbyville fans thats dogging newton apparently ur in a dream cause kirbyville would be better off not stepping of the bus at newton this year their wasting their time but they gotta play. Newton will put up big numbers on offense. Newton 48 Kirbyville 12, we might score more though. And btw you should be noticing whos usually the only team left in Southeast Texas come playoff time around here is Newton. We should get way more credit. We will go at least three rounds in the playoffs lets see what ya do lol
Just two weeks of practice? Isn't that the same for Silsbee? Also, Silsbee was trying out new players in positions as well. So Silsbee wouldn't stand a chance later in the year? That wasn't the case last year. ::) From what I saw in that scrimmage, it wouldn't matter when these two teams actually played a game, Silsbee would most likely win. It was obviously evident in the performance of these two teams in the scrimmage Friday night. Silsbee has the better team and it showed.
 6. From what I saw of Hamshire-Fannett last week against Deweyville and Kirbyville, they won't be bringing much. I look for both Barbers Hill and Central to have their way with the Horns.
 7.

Aug 30 they play Cleveland is Beaumont...any predictions??
lol, its Cleveland, they should blow the Indians out, emphasis on should.  ;)
I will be there for that game and possibly we will broadcast that game here at SETXsports.
 8. 5A and 4A have 4 playoff spots, not just 3.
 9.
Concession stand will be open on home side (West stand) Don't know about visitor concessions yet
For what scrimmage?
 10. False alarm. I was told Edwards was enrolled at Buna and practicing football with the team. Played in the scrimmage Friday night.
 11.
Heads up to those attending, alot of schools do not provide concessions and w/art.turf/alum bleachers on steel structure or concrete absorb heat all day long and a 5:00 start for freshmen can get very hot for fans.FW had no concessions & last yr @Pasadena scimm a  BH lady was taken by ambulance for heat symtoms-there were no concessions.Note:freeze some bottle water and you'll be ok 5-10pm for 3 scrimm is a long time in this heat,be prepared better to have than not ;)
Or, just don't go. ;)
 12. I cannot remember any paper doing reports from any scrimmages. I don't see what the big deal is, just scrimmages.
 13.
Does anyone know if Newton and EC are as good as Deweyville? That should give us an idea of where KVille stands against the teams in the new district.
Newton and East Chambers are better than Deweyville and Hamshire-Fannett.
 14.
A lot of people talking about the 6'5 post with a sweet stroke moving to West Brook
WHOAAAAA!!!!!! That would be a huge loss for Buna and a good pick up for West Brook.
 15.
We will know next week when E.C plays Silsbee how good Newton is.
Yes, that will be somewhat of a good measuring stick to compare for EC and Newton
 16. I will say, I was disappointed in what I saw from Newton Friday night. I was expecting a much better performance. But, what I saw from Kirbyville today wasn't any better. Newton obviously scrimmaged a much better team (Silsbee) than what Kirbyville scrimmaged (Deweyville & HF). Like I stated before, maybe Silsbee is just better than I thought they would be and would most likely put the same result had they scrimmaged Kirbyville. I think Kirbyville will be better than last year (pretty bad last year) but that's not saying much and not sure it will be enough improvement to beat Newton and for sure not enough to go undefeated in district. Already counting my $100 I will collect from kvillecats. ;) ;D
 17.

Deweyville 1st team scored against Kirbyville 1st team. Kvillecats trying to spread falsehoods to make his team look better.
No I'm not. Kirbyville gonna be ready come district big dog ;)
Over on the Anahuac/Buna scrimmage thread, you posted that Deweyville only scored on Kirbyville's 2nd team defense. That is not true. They scored on the Wildcats 1st team, in just 5 plays.
 18. Deweyville 1st team scored against Kirbyville 1st team. Kvillecats trying to spread falsehoods to make his team look better.
 19.

So y'all let Dville score
They scored once against our 2nd team defense.
WRONG!!! I was there. Deweyville 1st team scored against Kirbyville 1st team defense. In fact, it only took Deweyville 5 plays to cover the 65 yards to score. It was the first 5 plays of offense for Deweyville's first team, first 5 plays of defense for Kirbyville's 1st team.
 20.
Buddy Garrity have you seen any of these teams scrimmages this year?
Good point. I don't think Buddy has seen any team play in 2 years. ;) ::)
 21. Now that was a dominating performance in a scrimmage.
 22. I wouldn't rank them as the best but Silsbee's defense sure impressed me last night.
 23.

Good first scrimmage for all 3 teams, yes Dville scored on Kville and no one scored on Dville 1's but all 3 teams had positives and some mistakes, just a scrimmage. Kville will compete and be in the hunt in their District and HF is much improved over last years team. Good luck to HF and Kville.
Sir, I talked to Lafredrick Ford and he told me that his cousin said they beat both HF and Deweyville. I don't know how true this is though.
I attended this scrimmage. No one "won" this scrimmage.
 24. Here are the stats for each first team offense. This scrimmage had a 12 minute running clock for each offense to run as many plays as they could get in. First 12 minute set: Hamshire-Fannett 1st Team offense vs. Deweyville 1st Team defense HF rushing  10/15 yards passing  1-6- 14 yards total      16 plays/ 29 yards FD            2 3 and outs    3 2nd 12 minute set Kirbyville 1st Team offense vs. Hamshire-Fannett 1st Team defense Kirby rushing        17/107 yards    TD passing        1-5- 5 yards total            22 plays/ 112 yards FD                  7 3 and outs        0 Kirbyville did reach the HF 11 yard line but failed to score on 4 consecutive plays. Turn over on downs. 3rd 12 minute set: Deweyville 1st Team offense vs. Kirbyville 1st Team defense Dewey rushing        13/63 yards    TD passing        0-2  0 yards total            15 plays/ 63 yards FD                    3 3 and outs        1 Deweyville went 5 plays and 65 yards scoring on a 38 yard run to start their offensive series. Kirbyville made a few adjustments and slowed down Deweyville the rest of the 12 minute set. I did not keep 2nd team stats. Each team ran their 2nd teams for a 10 minute set. Lightning sent the teams in after that, then I left. If I were to rank each teams offense and defense based on this scrimmage, it would go like this: Offense 1. Kirbyville 2. Deweyville 3. Hamshire-Fannett Defense 1. Deweyville 2. Kirbyville 3. Hamshire-Fannett For what I viewed today, the team that impressed me the most was Deweyville. Good offense and very good defense. Coach Babin and his staff are doing some very good things there. I expect Deweyville to have a good season. Team that disappointed me the most was Hamshire-Fannett. Their offense simply could not move the ball against Deweyville and their defense really never stopped Kirbyville. HF better step it up on both sides if they want to compete for that 3rd playoff spot in 21-3A. As for Kirbyville, offensively they looked okay but it was against a very weak HF defense. Hard to judge how good they really are. Little disappointed in the Wildcat defense giving up that big touchdown drive by Deweyville. Kirbyville did adjust and looked better after that. All three teams obviously need more work but I have to say, Deweyville was the most impressive.
