You will also have to question the state level since HJ has been there a couple of times since 2007.
I'm only referring to your recent weaker schedules since that time.
We have a counterpart in our district to whom you offer respect for their strong schedule as often as you offer disdain for the HJ schedule. Compare the results over the last six years and convince me that strength of schedule matters (strength, that is, in the eyes of Da Dove) We should also be mindful of the HJ victory over Kingwood Park at their weak scheduled tourney last year. Kingwood Park is a name that should be meaningful to the Panthers.
If you are speaking of Silsbee, then one could say it "may" have mattered in the head-to-head match up between the two teams. Last 6 seasons Silsbee is 10-7 against HJ, last 4 seasons 7-3. I honestly do not think the schedule has mattered much, just more wins for one and less for the other. -

Great Job To All The 21-3A All District Players
i brought this up a few weeks ago on how they do all district picks nowadays , but i didnt get an answer . i remember back in the day if you were mvp of the district and you played running back you were automatically 1st team running back and the stats you racked up was worthy of you being on that 1st team . i see nowadays if you make a superlative you are not included on the 1st team or second team . the question is who was the best qb in 21-3a ? i am a hamshire alumni and im really happy too see dante smith make 1st team qb , im just curious on how they do their voting nowadays , also glad too see the freshmen k king make newcomer of the year (something we didnt have back in the day ) and other hamshire players make an all district team .
Your district MVP and offensive and defensive MVP's are considered 1st team. To answer your question about who was the best QB in the district, well it was the district MVP in Silsbee QB Patrick Reed. Reed finished with over 1100 yards rushing and 2500 yards passing for over 3600 yards of total offense on the year. -
So any performance after district shouldn't be considered? How does it work?
All district is only based on the district games. No non district or playoff games are considered when selecting all district teams.

Up top in sticky topic. Biggest mover this week: Sabine Pass entered the polls at #6 after not being ranked last week.

If that is even close to correct, could someone who understands it relate to me how this school exists and from whence do their players originate?
Simple! Join the homeschool association. Your or me could get our kids there to practice. But, you will find many of thee kids have been held back to hone their skills.
Which is sad by the way... Is legal cheating a word...lol..where is the value of education over sports...some of these so called parents..are allowing their children to be pimped...
When PNG played HCYA i actually had the privilege to speak with one of the teachers/instructors for the HCYA boys. I sort of made a remark referring to the possibility of the kids getting to practice 24/7 without knowing who was around me! We then had a very great conversation about their program. She explained that they are very much so education based and basketball is secondary if that. She said that they only have two practices a week for only two hours each. She said that they would work on shooting and other skills on their own. The practices involved team strategy. She made if VERY clear that basketball is not even close to first in their program.
You may want to interview the basketball coach and see how closely his story parallels this teacher's story. I find the teacher's explanation a bit "Hole-y."
Nope, she was dead on. Spoke with the coach myself. Most these players are AAU players. They get plenty of practice on their own. -

Looked good all 4th Qs. CE King was good. Very disciplined and patient. We will beat HCYA tomorrow if we play like that! Keep it up!
::)
We scored 3 points in the 4th Q and lost by 2 Dove. Had we played 1/2 as we did the night before, we beat HCYA by 10+, so not sure what your ::) means exactly. ::) CE King was solid and well coached. They defeated WB 52-47 on Saturday, and came up just short against Katy Taylor. Very disciplined (except thier big), and they played good team ball. They had some shooters and kids who could take it to the hoop. I predict that either our 2nd or 3rd place team will face them in round one of the playoffs.
CE King's big is just a freshman. I was impressed.
I appreciate this forum so the boys can get a little recognition for the way they have played this year and the hard work they put in during practice. Being a small school, its hard for the boys to get that recognition any other way. Other that Episcopal, we have had an opportunity to win every game. We are undersized in every game we play, with guards having to cover and rebound against guys 4 to 6 inches taller than them. To make up for that, our guys play extremely hard and deserve a little recognition.
I watched a couple of their games at the Huntington tourney. I was impressed. Keep the updates of the season coming! -
The other team has a guy named Isaiah Taylor who did everything for them this game.. Top level talent
Correct. Isiah Taylor, the other reason why Roy Williams and Larry Brown were in attendance. Taylor's stat line against Nederland: 31 points, 12 assists, 10 rebounds. Triple double!

I still say the best team in the tourney was The Village, and Memorial beat those guys. HCYA played very well against PAM, the Titans did not play well at all. They had no answer for HCYA's star Justin Jackson. He had 19 points, 15 boards, and 9 block shots. -
