When I have seen them play I didn't think they had a whole lot to work with. But that's jus my opinion.
They have several good athletes. Needless to say, they do not have the athletes to run the type of offense that Barbay had them running though.

Warren better get on top of things if they expect to even make the playoffs, much less contend for a district title.
They definitely need to right the ship. This club has never had dominant pitching, they win with defense, aggresive play on the bases and hitting the ball.Right now they seem to be playing a little tenatively.Fortunately that can be corrected but the kids will be the ones that have to step up and do it.
They are a scrappy little team. Hopefully they can get it together and sqeak into the playoffs.

I agree. I made the same comment. This is how i look at it: Yes, it takes more than two years to develop a winning program. But it doesnt take you two years to win a single game. I think the people in Warren are sick of losing and will go through coach after coach until they see at least a win.

Okay. This is what I was told by a school official at Warren. I was told that Barbay's contract was not renewed due to the fact he did not win a single game in two years. I was also told there were complaints from parents on a few things that took place. Barbay resigned two days after being told that his contract had not been renewed. As for his future, I havent heard a thing other than rumors about the Hardin and Hull-Daisetta head coach jobs. Some people at Warren are not very happy that he was let go.
He is closely monitored he didnt throw that many pitches against woodville.
93. Verified by the coach at Woodville. Im done debating this. lol youre right, its getting nowhere fast.

Steelercrazy, we've been to the games & practice, we know what he is able to do.they just like putting the boys down with him he loves the game & loves the challenge
Whose putting anybody down? Ive seen the kid throw a couple times. In fact he was on the gun down here and TOPPED OUT at 87. But nobody is bringing the kid down. Simply stating a fact that was proven to me and not just stated on this website by some person who has no idea who I am. The kid is good. Really good. But lets not get carried away. He got outpitched when he came to Woodville. But maybe he had a bad game.
Out pitched at Woodville? He threw 24 pitches in 3 innings, that was it.
ha who lied to you? He threw 90 pitches, walked 6, gave up four runs, and gave up several hits. 6 walks is 24 pitches in itself. Lol you are mistaken and misinformed.
Howell is a outstanding pitcher ....he prolly throws the fastest in the district ...
Best pitcher in that district. Having seen both Price and Howell pitch, both being the top two in that district, Howell had just as much control but threw 5-7 mph harder than Price.
I do hope Buna puts up a better game than last year when a bunch of sophomores embarrassed them on their home field. As for WOODVILLE, a sophomore pitcher stymied you, got in your feelings and stole your cool. Your batter was called the third out after his stunt. 9-9. Tournament tie breaker is runners to third. WARREN had more. You lost. Get over it.
Yeah. 9 hits is also being stymied. Warren played great defense. Woodville drilled the ball and made a few errors. Yeah a TIE-breaker. What was the final score?? 9-9. Yeah that means a tie. They advanced. Thats it. No win or loss was involved for either team. And as for stealing our cool. You have no idea what your talking about lol all im saying. Like i said. Best of luck to Warren. I have nothing against people from down there. -

No comment on that. I have friends down in Warren. Im just tired of people thinking they beat Woodville. That did not happen. Lol but i do wish Warren the best of luck against anybody except Woodville ;) -

AND the only deserved loss was to #6 Silsbee. The other loss came to Coldspring when Woodville had 5 starters suspended. -

Beaumont Kelly and Woodville are still ranked #1 and #2.
Yep...even with the Woodville loss to Warren.
Yeah cuz 9-9 is a loss huh? The game ended in a tie due to the incident that happened that night. Warren advanced in tournament play by a forced forfeit. Warren did not beat Woodville lol -
Eagleswoodville#1, He is not a transfer, the kid has been in Shepherd his entire life and so has his brother. Now his Mom and Dad are from the columbus area when they were growing up, but the kids have been in Shepherd. Both of these brothers will be really good when they are Sr's. one is a Sophmore and One is a Freshman.
Oh ok. That makes sense. But yes they will be very good if they stay at it. -
New 2a/1a and private ranking
eagleswoodville#1 replied to sport1971's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Wasnt this about the ranking?? lol coming from someone whose seen Kountze and Warren and Buna play, id say Buna definitely has the most consistency in their line-up. Warren is a scrappy team though. Theyll make it interesting. But as for the rankings, I think they're good the way they are with a couple changes... 1. Bmt Kelly (we can all agree on this one, great hitting, superb fielding, good pitching staff) 2. Woodville (only has one true loss, hits very well, plays solid defense, and has an above average pitching staff) 3. Warren (scrappy, beaten several quality teams, plays good defense) 4. Hemphill (Twine and they can hit very well) 5. Kountze (playing great ball, but we'll see if Price and the pitching staff can keep it up) 6. Buna (starting to pick it up and play great ball) 7. West Sabine 8. Evadale 9. Hardin 10. Big Sandy -
who is #15 for Shepard and why is this kid under the radar. 90+ on the radar and no one has heard of him. unbelieveable. congrats to Woodville on the win.
He might have hit 90 a couple times. It was not consistently up there though. He stayed high 80's if I had to guess. -
The reason it didnt look 90 is Hickman almost matched #15 in velocity and had a better curve ball and change up. Was told the kid from Shepard is only a sophomore.
Two great pitchers started this game. Both of which will be back next year. #15 from Shepherd impressed me and alot of other people. He will be really good when he is a senior. But I heard he was a transfer from Columbus?? -
