You have names? I do too. Harrison, Lockhart, Daniels, Johnson(also receiving D1 looks). On this note, you didn't even name the only college hopeful y'all do have, Jacob Keene. -

And yes, toughest district in the state. According to Dave Campbell's Texas Football Magazine and the fact that there are five teams in this district (including Kville) that have won playoff games in the past 5 years. Newton has won 2+ every year, as has EC. Woodville has won one and lost to the eventual state finalists/champs two times. In the year they won one, who did they lose too in the second round? East Chambers. Surprise there huh? Anahuac has one several as well. And recently, Every one of these teams finished at or over .500 in a district that was much tougher than Kville's. Numbers prove points, opinions get you embarrassed. -
For Hemphill to be better, their defense will have to improve by not giving up 50 plus average a game. Who besides Twine do they have in the offensive backfield?
They had one little running back that was a pretty good athlete. And a big receiver that, if he can learn to control his emotions and focus a little more, has the potential to be good.
Finally someone getting back to the thread topic. Huntington running a new offense with a sophomore quarterback this year. He did float a few long balls but I feel that that will be corrected. Great kid with a lot of talent and smart too, he will correct but is young. Defense does look stronger this year too, seemed to show a lot more "go get em" than in previous years. The seniors are a group who were on varsity as sophomores and now have some experience behind them so that obviously helps.
Yeah, he had a strong arm and showed a lot of promise. Inexperience was the difference in the live action against Woodville and it was pretty prevalent. But that comes with time. Huntington will be fine this year and, in my opinion, much better next year.

My picks are Newton,EC, and Woodville....EC could win the district. Kirbyville will get 4th in this district.
Dude really??
Yes, really. You're setting the whole program up for embarrassment and giving them a reputation they don't deserve. Please stop and try to gain an actual knowledge of the level of talent these teams in this district have. I'm all for being supportive of your team, but talking mess on here and having a big without any reason to have one, is uncalled for. You won two games last year. You have absolutely no reason to think that you're a dominating program or that you'll dominate the toughest AA district in Texas. You'll have to prove it. Talking mess does nothing but give the program a bad image. -
So how did huntington look offensively and defensively? They got athletes like last year?
The Red Devils had several good athletes. None exceptional, but all solid. The QB floated the ball very lazily into coverage. Defense looked very aggressive and much improved. Overall, I'd say they improved quite a bit from l sat years team.

Especially if a weak Dville team can put it to you like what I hear they did. Lol and while we're checking grammar further down on this page, *is, " Kirbyville IS too big for Woodville" And, as stated earlier, size means very little unless it's athletic size. You can be 6'7" 335 lbs of fat and not be worth a dang. Kville is in for a rude awakening. But, as usual, I'm sure they'll be some excuse as to why it didn't go as planned. Someone will get hurt or it'll be the refs fault ::)
EaglesWoodville#1, it's lots of football to be played. Coldspring, Wos, Wills point, Jasper, Bridge City, Vidor and even Center. That's the kind of schedule we had last season. You call that weak?? None of the teams in this district would have stood a chance so talk what you know!
I called that district weak. Only two of those teams were in that district. And Kville lost to every one of those teams last year. Including Jasper, which Newton has a recent history of dominating. Diboll got crushed by Woodville in their scrimmage last year. And Huntington was a game they should have won. Those are not impressive wins. Woodville beating Anahuac 36-21 last year, is. Newton, EC, Woodville, Anahuac, and Buna last year, could have competed for the championship in that district last year. Something Kville proved they could not do last year. -

The one with Newton, EC, Woodville, AND Anahuac. All of which could very possibly hand it to you. Not just beat you, but serve it to you on a platter and turn this season into a fifth place disappointment. You don't have the talent you got lucky with the last time y'all dropped divisions. Am I missing a piece to this mystery of a puzzle they're calling Kirbyville this year? Lol
How in heck we got lucky?? I do remember Kirbyville hanging 50+ on Woodville the last time we were in 2a!
They got lucky by getting that much talent the year they moved down. And yes, they did hang 50 on them three years ago. WITH the talent they used to have. AND a less talented Woodville team. Living off past success doesn't help you win games now. The fact is, Woodville has been more consistent than Kville recently. Not as successful, but when was the last time Woodville only won 2 games, huh? Lol especially since they haven't been in a weak district since 2005, which if I'm not mistaken, they WON that district and lost to the state champs, Newton, in this second round of the playoffs, who....oh yeah....is in this district too! -

Woodville 6 Huntington 4 Hemphill 4 Total TD tally of the whole scrimmage, not including Int's. Hemphill was much improved but still has a long ways to go. Twine looked good minus the mental errors and what seemed like careless passing into coverage throughout the whole scrimmage. The aggression and football mentality have improved tremendously. The coaches have done an awesome job down there so far. Overall, a productive scrimmage for the Hornets. Huntington looked improved as well. The only faults they had were that they seemed to have way too much trust in that QB's arm than need be. He threw a few good passes but also threw three or four interceptions. RB looked improved as well with great quickness and a little speed as well. Defense looked great at first but seemed to slack off a bit towards the end when fatigue began to run its course. But overall a decent evening for the Red Devils as well. Woodville had a lot of mental errors but still seemed to dominate both teams in the live quarter action. Huntington had one long run on a Woodville mental lapse. The talent is definitely there for the Eagles. And as for the question that was their line: the coaching staff down in Woodville has done a phenomenal job getting them ready for this season considering what they lost. That line, along with being three-deep at every backfield position, and an always stingy defense led by one of the best linebackers in SETX is gonna be hard to beat. I expect them to make a lot of noise in the toughest district in AA.

Should be competitive. I see it bein a run between Woodville and Warren. Which should be extremely interesting lol both teams will be good. Hemphill will compete and Kville could as well. I cant wait to see it. Any more opinions??
Well we lost in the regional finals to the state champs who we were up by 9 on at the start of the 4th... we were missing a starter and a key bench player that game. We will return 4 of 5 starters this year.. one of our best was only a freshman last year.. (Justin harper).. oh and we get that Grayland arnold id lol i hear he is pretty good.. but i would definitely say we are one of the favorites :-)
Mayb so. Definitely should be good. I see all those good teams. Its gonna be tough. They'll have their work cut out big time. But they have just as much a shot as any one of those teams, so we will see.

Itll make this a little more interesting.
