1. Where you ArgyleEagles? It's been over 48 hrs.. Actually I didn't think we'd ever hear from you again if your team lost...You never struck me as the type who would come back and man up... You can talk all the noise you want but if things don't go your way you've got to be man enough to come back and admit as much and give the other team their due credit OR you just become another poster looking to stir stuff up and for attention... Congrats on your teams magical ride to the state title game...Although they came up short of their ultimate goal they still had a great year.... Hopefully you learned a little bit of humility along the way! ;)
 2.
Great post Grad...Thanks to all who make this site what it is,All the Moderators and the people who work in the background who help keep the wheels turning...You Are Appreciated..!!
Well said!
 3.
That one turnover for Argyle in the end zone may have quite possibly cost them a State Championship.
That's exactly what many CS fans are probably thinking after Wimberley forced almost the exact same play in the first half of the CS/Wimberley game... Both turnovers were huge but both CS and Argyle had opportunites to make a few plays down the stretch but it was Wimberely that came up with the big play and answer when needed....Usually you have to have a little good fortune to win it all but good fortune in and of itself isn't going to get you across the finish line...You have to couple that with some other huge plays and that's exactly why Wimberley walked out of Cowboys stadium with the 3a II championship...
 4. If so, I don't see how the experience can be much better than what it was when I attended last year at Jerry's world... Other than the food prices (which are high but I guess understandable) everything else seemed to be top notch...Given the enormous size of the video screen I'm not sure there is a bad seat in the house.... Playing for a state championship is awesome in and of itself but giving teams, bands, etc. the chance to perform in a venue like Cowboys stadium is a once in a lifetime opportunity for most.... I'm not saying San Antonio won't do a good job I just don't think most (talking about players, etc.) will be as excited to play somewhere else....The whole allure of getting to play at Cowboy stadium has just raised the stakes the last couple of years (if that even seems possible)....
 5. Very true...He's definitely not going to be mistaken for anyone else...Everyone knows who he is and thus the brand he represents... He used to get on my nerves however I've almost come to like him....When you think of television HS football highlights/coverage he's one of the first people that come to mind....Lots of people have grown up watching him deliver highlights and that type of recognition and brand loyalty has probably made him firmly entrenched for as long as he wants.... He somewhat reminds me of the late Marvin Zindler of Houston ABC news...When I moved to Houston from out of state years ago the first thing I thought was "who and what is this guy?" He seemed absurd and over the top...After figuring out what he was all about and his revered status among many Houstonians I found myself almost entertained with some of his on the air antics...The hair, glasses, outlandish suits, chasing people down and making them uncomfortable and coercing them to do the right thing (most of the time) along with his "slime in the ice machine" reports almost become enjoyable to watch....I wouldn't watch the broadcast just to see him but if I happened to be flipping thru the channels and he was coming up I sure wasn't going to change it.... You've usually got to have something that makes you stand out from your competitors and both of these guys have/had that (whether you personally cared for it or not)
Well it is. Can't find anything anywhere. Guess y'all aren't that good..
Well AEagle, have you figured out who some of their best players are?  Are they still not "that good" just because you couldn't figure it out? ::) You've had alot to say the last couple of weeks...What say you now?
 7.
Wow, speaking of letting one slip away. Fumble through the end zone for the touchback, tough break for Argyle!
CS had the exact same thing happen last week in the first half against Wimberley...It helps to be a little lucky as well as good..I guess the flip side of the lucky argument would be that good things happen when you swarm to the ball and put a hat on the ball carrier....But the chances of the same team being the beneficiary of the same type of play two consecutive weeks this deep in the playoffs probably aren't real good... Turnovers are crucial and none more than the ones that are inches away from being a score...
 8.
This game is driving me crazy.  Especially knowing one play here or there and we could have been in Dallas.  Both teams are playing outstanding defense.
Yep, CS definitely let one slip away...Texans made the plays down the stretch needed to win but if someone would've told me (immediately following last years state champ game) that CS could be back in the semi's in the 4th qtr with a 7 pt lead and the ball I take those odds all day long...Just wasn't to be..
 9. Great job and congrats to all the players who made the team...Way to take care of business in the classroom!
 10.
If a kid doesnt get picked its either he wasn't nominated or the district coaches didn't feel that their play beat out the other nominees.  Many fights and arguments take place in all district selections so it isn't something that is fixed.
Excellent point...And unless the voting process has changed all that CS coaches can do is nominate their players...I don't think coaches are allowed to vote on their own players so you really are getting a pretty fair assessment because you have coaches who (for instance this year) were absolutely hammered by CS overwhelmingly voting for a large number of CS players... On another note, when was the last year that 22 3A had one team sweep all of the superlative awards (coach, mvp, poy off & def, special team, newcomer)?....Just curious if anyone knows if it's happened before....I would think it may have not happened before but I'm not sure since I've only being following this particular district the last half decade plus...
 11.
Anyone know if this game will be televised?  If so, what network?
Game will be carried live on Fox Sports Net (FSN) beginning at 4pm central throughout most of the US on most major satellite and cable outlets...It will probably also be online at FSN as well...
 12. Probably not alot of surprises....Looks like CS was well represented by sweeping the individual awards and having several others named.... That being said I'm sure (to a man) they'd all trade the individual awards for the chance to be playing this Friday for the state championship.... There were lots of dissappointed Trojans walking around campus on Monday....The goal coming into this season was state championship or bust...It's tough to get so close but to ultimately fall a little short... Congrats to all the players (district wide) named to the team....Good job 22 3A... It was a fun season to watch!
 13.
No argument here.  This next few months may be one of the few opportunities he has left to just be a kid.  Mack, you'll just have to wait on this one.
I understand why many chose to enroll early, however, you make a very valid point WOS...As soon as he steps on campus he's going to be in a different world...The time committment alone at the collegiate level (especially a big time D1 school) is crazy...Might as well enjoy the next couple of months with his classmates and family...
 14. Wow, unbelievable....Great win for SLC and devastating loss for Skyline...And I thought watching my Trojans (last night) give up 2 TD's in the last 8 mins to lose was rough...
 15.
You should have listened to me haha. Way to go Wimberley. See ya next friday!
Give yourself a pat on the back and please just go away now...Go find some other fan base to try to irritate...Your act has grown old and tired....They say there's always a few in every village and I do believe we've found one belonging to Argyle...Congrats! :-[
 16. Just got back home....First and foremost I have to give credit to Wimberley for playing a great game and outscoring CS 14-0 the last 8 mins of the game... It looked like CS had all the momentum (up 14-7) going into the 4th qtr but Wimberley was able to get a couple of key stops and spring a couple of big plays on offense to tie the game up...Then they did a good job of winning the battle of field position to get themselves set up inside CS territory for their game winning drive culminating in the 22 yd strike inside of 1 1/2 mins left in the game.... The CS fumble early in the first qtr at the one yard line proved to be a very costly turnover...Wimberley put the ball on the turf I think 3 times but were able to recover each time.... Wimberley played a good game defensively when you consider the fact that they became the first team all year to not give up a TD to either Gilbert or Monroe.... Basically, the game came down to who could execute the last qtr most effectively and unfortunately for CS it was Wimberley this time that had the answers and made the necessary defensive stops and executed enough on offense to get the win... Absolutely great season for CS (even though it didn't end the way anyone had hoped or wanted)....It's always hard to lose this time of the year but that's the nature of the beast...Someone has to win and someone has to lose...It didn't work out tonight but the lessons learned and the memories from this year will for many no doubt last a lifetime... Hold your heads up high Trojans! You represented your school, district, and region well....

 18. Getting on the road...Safe travels to everyone...Go Trojans!
 19. It is sad but it's also great to know that no lives were lost...Even in the midst of this unfortunate accident it looks like that family has alot to be thankful for...It will be tough for them this close to the holidays but the house can be replaced... God bless and best wishes to the family as they try to regroup...
 20.
What do you know about my team?
It's under 8 hrs till (your teams) kickoff and yet here you are on 2 other teams game thread worrying about what someone from a team (your not playing) knows about your team... What exactly are you looking for? Validation of some kind? :-[ No one really cares about Argyle right now...It's Day by Day and today we're not playing Argyle
 21.
And you don't know anything either..lol...MR.Buddy Garrity alias Scooter and whatever other names he goes by,gave all Kirbyville posters 300 -karma,last year...He gave it to Coldspring this year....Beating Kirbyville that ya'll are so proud of and keep bringing it up..Had nothing to do with it... ;)
I never said it had anything to do with beating Kirbyville...I just stated that it was my understanding that it was done by one poster and it was around the time of the Kirbyville game...If I was wrong on part of it so be it...The main part of the post was about negative karma and how it happened...I believe you pretty much confirmed the "lone poster" theory that was previously discussed... Also for the record I'm not anymore proud of the win against Kirbyville than I am about any of the other playoff victories...I've been more than complimentary when it comes to KVille...It was a good win over a team that I personally feel was probably the 2nd best team CS played last year...That's as far as it goes...I've only followed CS closely the last 5-6 years and in that time span CS is 2-1 against the Wildcats...I don't know much about what transpired before that time other than KVille had the upperhand...
 22.
Why is this ONE person allowed to do this (karma)? If it has no validity, why bother?
Who knows?  :) I love this site but I couldn't answer that...You'd have to ask someone who runs the site...I know I haven't done anything close to deserving neg 300+ karma...Trust me I've seen some of the stuff posted back and forth and most of the stuff I've ever said pales in comparison...The topic of karma (and how some posters had such huge negative numbers) actually came up about a month or so ago and that's the explanation that was given... It doesn't seem to serve much of purpose but I guess then again maybe it's just one more thing for folks to talk about...
 23. It's obvious that you probably don't know much about Wimberley or CS other than stats that you've seen...I've watched the last 43 CS games (including last years game against Wimberley)....I think I've got a pretty good feel for what gives CS problems defensively and what types of scores that we usually give up... I didn't guarantee anything...I just feel that based on everything that I've witnessed that CS has a really good chance of beating Wimberley again...If for some reason I'm wrong I'll be the first to admit it...
