  1. Yes MH LB core was good but the majority of the time they were basically unblocked. Set an edge and run outside enough to keep them honest. I just hope that our OC instead of becoming more conservative like last week says I’m pulling out all the stops for this one because honestly there’s nothing to lose. No one will fault him for running an option play outside or a reverse or a flea flicker like we was burned on last week . But i guarantee you that the running plays between the tackles will be very difficult to have much success with. SOC may have the best D Line in the STATE for sure in 5A div 2 so let’s get creative and make some adjustments and see if we can take advantage of that.
  2. I agree with your assessment of what you just text but since the La Porte game every single team has done the same thing against us defensively which is play man to man on our receivers and put every other available player in the box and run blitz on every single play. So when you have 8 in the box and one 6 lineman and HB to block for the RB you leave 2 players completely unblocked nearly every single play. High school coaches struggle to come up with ways to off set this. And our offensive coordinator and staff definitely struggled last week to come up with anything that worked. Go back and watch the 2023 state game against SOC and see how we schemed against them and hit repeatedly. We ran with a Sophomore QB option plays to the outside edge of the line of scrimmage which aided the inside trap plays, we ran wide receiver screens, crossing routes to receivers, screens to the RB and threw over the top to stretch the field and make the defense make plays 1 on 1 and we had success. Ashworth has athleticism use it this week because if our offense plays like it did against MH we will not advance past this game. And use the HB in the offense they rarely get covered because we never throw the ball to them. Run some RPO plays and hit the HB IN between the line of scrimmage and the safety when they are blitzing their LB on every play it’s wide open. Their is no help in the zone that they will receive the pass in and it’s a quick pass that can devestate a defensive. Our CB have to not let WR get behind them we have given up to many big plays the last couple of weeks and don’t need to. Our run defense has been very good all year but they have to make plays and get off the field and not let SOC have 10 -12 play drives that wear us down. Offensively control the clock be aggressive against their pressure and don’t be afraid to take chances down the field . Special teams will play a huge part in this game and the crowd needs to bring energy that the players feed off of. SOC is #1 because they earned it but they was #1 every time we have played them . Looking for a great game and atmosphere for high school football and praying that neither team comes out of it with any injuries because we have had way more than our share of injuries this season. Good luck to both teams and let the best team win.
  3. Not one person has said anything about Montgomery stopping PNG offense. I think PNG body of work to this point has shown we can contain and slow down really good running teams . I don’t see any reason after watching all the games that Montgomery has played to show they can stop our Offense that will be the difference in the game is them not being able to slow us down . Blowout no unless turnovers happen but if both teams play well PNG should win this game by 2 scores
  4. So what about the PNG running game? Coach Joseph is 48-6 in his 4th season and the offense hasn’t changed much at all in that time. #27 & #6 for PNG are as good of RB as anyone has in the district. Yes #1 for Montgomery is a very good player and he will be a handful for PNG to contain but I have watched every single game since Joseph has taken over and only a handful of teams have had a answer to slow down our running game. But you have to pick your poison with PNG this year because our passing game has improved drastically from last season which is needed when you play stronger teams and putting 8 to 9 defensive players in the box puts your defense in a very vulnerable situation playing man to man. I like the fact we throw deep even though we haven’t caught all of them this puts the defense in a bad situation if we do connect it’s 7 points and we have been behind a lot of defenders and either dropped balls right in our hands or the pass just be a little off target. But the fact of us doing that is a game changer for this season. This game will be a great game for both teams getting ready for the playoffs and I pray both teams come out of it injury free and let the best team win.

  8. Not the start the defending State Champs were looking for. Got to clean up the. Errors and blocking balls behind the plate. Pitchers were off their game last nite no doubt throwing strikes but could have gotten out of several jams with a play made here and there. Good news is we was 0-2 last year to start the season. Hopefully the rain will not be as bad as expected and we can get some games in this weekend.

  10. What is the deal with the extra points
  11. Not sure what we can change other than personal on Def that is gonna make us any better. Let's face it we are extremely small on our front 7 compared to most schools left in the playoffs at this point we have very little team speed on Def as compaired to our Off so that creates issues and teams that spread us out and has a athletic QB gives us fits. I agree we ask alot of our corners at times to have to cover for 4 or more seconds because the opponents QB has all day to throw and that will get you beat. Not sure what Templin can do to offset so much adversity that we face each week. Blitzes that don't work give up big plays no pressure on the QB asking our CB and safeties to cover for 4 or more seconds doesn't work either . Glad I'm not a defensive coach in this game your damned if you do and damned if you don't. All we can ask is what our kids give us week in and week out 110 % effort and let the chips fall where they may. Clock management has to get better those are issues that can win a game like this . Not calling dead ball timeouts needs to be reevaluated as well losing to many time outs when the clock is stopped. And if we have the lead late in a game not snapping the ball with 15 or more seconds on the clock shortening the game to limit opportunities as well. Gonna be a great game no doubt . Go Indians
  12. No let's not take away from the schemes that have worked for the last 2 years with SHUG at QB I give all credit to coach for that along with SHUGS insane athletic ability to make things happen and how hard the kid runs . But the further we advance the better the coaching gets the more talented teams are gonna get and yes they see what we see on film and will scheme to stop it.
  13. I see a troubling trend starting in PNG OFF. Yes RIGGS and SHUG are our best weapons we need to get back to being more like the Patriots in the NFL spread the ball around to all positions making the Def have to balance their game plan instead of being able to double team Riggs and keying on SHUG on every play. Let's face it when Lane and Hebert are in the game and Lane is at running back it's a QB run every time to SHUG. Have to add new wrinkles off some of these sets or I'm afraid at the level of competition we are playing at now we are gonna struggle. Need to throw to the HB 4 to 5 times a game and the RB out of the backfield to make the Defense account for these positions . If they did it would free up plays for Riggs and Cameron and the other receivers. As far as our Def we had the best effort we have had in any game this past week . Honestly kids were hitting and wrapping up when we got there to make tackles. Unfortunately if we have a chance to win it's gonna more than likely be in a shootout . Defense give the OFF a chance make a couple of stops or create a turnover and I love our chances this week. Go Indians !!!!!@
  14. Looks like there will be 3 for sure maybe 4 new starters this week. 2 lineman out with injuries and 1 kid moved from Off to Def in the secondary for sure possibly 2 in the secondary will be replaced.
