  1. Actually, that wasn't a playoff game. It was a regular season game that Silsbee won 48-44. Jay McGuire rushed for 454 yards that night. He had a total all-purpose yardage of over 600 yards in that game with 6 td's. Now Silsbee and Nederland did play each other again that year in the playoffs but McGuire did not play. He had broken his leg in the regular season finale against Jasper. You would think that Silsbee wouldn't of stood a chance against Nederland without Jay but they beat the Bulldogs 34-7 in that playoff game. Stanley Rhone, Silsbee's fullback moved to the tailback position in that game and rushed for 190 yards, 3 td's. Also, in the regular season game, Silsbee chose to play a zone and not blitz and the Nederland QB Hood, picked Silsbee's secondary apart. In the playoff game, Silsbee went man defense and blitzed pretty much all night. They sacked Hood 10 times in that game, with 2 int's. It was a great defensive game plan by the Tiger coaches. I have both those games on tape, watch it every now and then. Was Nederland 3A at that time? No, Silsbee was 4A. Silsbee has just been 3A for the last 5 years. And Jasper was 4A as well? I believe Jasper dropped from 4a to 3a in the 2002 season... Ok. That makes sense. I stand corrected. I just checked the archives. Jasper became 3a during the 2001 season. Heck, I was close! ;D
  2. Yes indeed. He was a physical presense. We could not run to the side he was lined up on. He would shut that running lane down. I'm glad that this team was one of our best defenses that we have put together or we would have lost that night.

  4. I remember Silsbee played my Jags in a good defensive game in 2003. I believe the score ended up being 3-0 Jags. Great defensive struggle! I think your Tigers had William Morrissy (sp), the big Lineman.
  5. Your right... Carry on... 8)
  6. There is a WO-S Admin, AAW...
  7. You darn right, man. And I can't wait!
  8. I believe Central will go back to the veer (the offense last year before we went strictly wishbone). We will be in the mix of the playoffs next year. Mark it down. I like the new look on offense for PN-G. The players will need to get a whole lot more better if they wish to reach their potential and make noise in district...
  9. Lemme add something you may have forgot, BD. 2008- Central in 4th round! ;D ;D
  10. This is an excellent unbiased post. You will get 2 karma points for that! 8)
  11. 2008 was Central's deepest run since 2003 when we made it to the third round vs. Bay City...
  12. Yes, they did. They lost in the second round.
  13. The torch is now passed to you, Grad! You'll do fine. BTW, I love all those home games that's on Central's schedule... ;D
  14. Very impressive! I love those aerial shots.
  15. This is definately true. This is what was confusing me about the 'family issue'. Since Lamar is close to home, I sure hope he considers Lamar...
  16. I saw Brandon a lot at our games last year. I have a cousin who is Brandon's classmate and he confirmed that its a family thing. Not realy sure of the details...
  17. 1. Ivory Williams - Central 2. Jamaal Charles - Memorial
  18. PN-G does fit the bill. So, there you have it. I have just selected PN-G in the polls... ;D
  19. Sometimes a little arrogance and cockiness makes you them most hated also!
  20. Yes, I do! Last year's playoff team have convinced me that we have some hungry kids ready rise to the challenge.
  21. Somebody knew what they where talking about...
  22. Choppa was not allowed to be an important part of the offence his JR and SR year because he had a promising career in track. He was only allowed to play like a few times a drive on offense. I was hearing rumors that this was his mom's choice, at the time... Hey, kid did rip it up when he had the green light. I remember he played RB his sophmore year. He torched North Shore for multiple big TD runs and had over 200 yards rushing on a very stout NS defense...
