I think some of you PN-G fans feel like you can't be touched by anyone since only since you have a coach from Permian.

Why is everybody so sure PN-G will win this opener. I'm seeing folks thinking this will be a blowout. Why does everybody think PN-G will be so good? Because they now have a coach from Permian? What have he proved thus far? Nothing as far as I'm concerned. If BH have a new coach, I can understand your thinking. If BH have the same coach, BH will come away a winner. Especially since this is the first game of the season...

I don't think there will be a Thursday game. I believe that there will be one Friday night game, a Saturday afternoon game, and a Saturday evening game. That would make more sense, IMO.

Central, not this year. how you figure? Everyone knows that Central won't be in it this year. They are destined to be a lower tier team with hopes for 2010. I don't really believe that and don't make predictions anyway. I just wanted to get Scooter pumped up for a few seconds. ;D Well, you should have seen the flames come out of my eyes when I read the first part! :D

Yes, the key is the kids know what to expect from Coach since he have been around the Jag Program for so long. I still say that we'll be alright and make the playoffs...

Last coaching change was in 2005 and we won the district title that year. I'm confident that we won't miss a beat. Also, don't let the 3 returning starter thing fool you. Remember, we ran different starting linups all the time to match up to the competition. Lumberton will be a handfull to run against with that beast in the middle tackling anything in sight. Your best chance is to put it in the air. I believe that more teams will do that this year.

Nederland will have the edge with coaching with Neuman. Is this why you picked Nederland? Remember, they still have to replace Cardenas and Grogan. Salenga will have to be a man among boys next year for Nederland to win district...

why? because Central only has 3 returning starters and are predicted to finish 5th? There really is no difference in being placed 3rd-6th IMO so Im having a hard time feeling sorry for Central, theyll be fine. Understandable...

Well, Coop. You gotta figure with half of the district having new head coaches, anything can happen. That being said, I think the magazine may have projected just a bit too meteoric of a ride for the Pirates. Before my friends in Vidor break out the flame throwers, I do believe that they will make the playoffs, but I would have them in 3rd or 4th as I think they'll realize that they miss Chris Teinart more than they think, he was a master at running the Slot T. I am also a bit surprised that Nederland is projected down in 4th place. I know losing Asa Cardenas and Wareall Grogan will hit them hard, but they have good targets for Kirby Bellows (who is now in his third year as the helm!) in Brady and I was impressed with Salenga. I think it will be PN-G and Central fighting for the 4th spot. I'd still keep my eye on Livingston, I know they lost a lot but I can't help but think that Randy Rowe has some tricks up his sleeve. I'd have it like this: 1. Lumberton 2. Nederland 3. Vidor 4. Port Neches-Groves 5. Central 6. Livingston 7. Ozen 8. LC-M Grad, I thought we were better than that!! ;D
