Next year, we lose 2 time state tournament MVP Arceneaux and a reserve due to graduation, however, we do return 2 all tournament team players in Porchia/Dotson AND the top scorer (and 5 star recruit) in Yates. Also return a 6’4” big man in Davis and a 6’7” big man. Of those kids get in the gym and get better, I’d hope that’ll be enough to make a return trip to state. But is there anyone in 6a that’s ready to knock off Duncanville? I’m not convinced at this very moment…

I hear Arceneaux won tournament mvp. Congrats to him. Great kid raised by some good people! But my pick for tournament MVP would’ve been Dotson or Porchia. great back and forth game. I’m just glad BU was able to make the better plays at the end. They caused turnovers late and made key free throws. Key steal late for Porchia. I look forward to the parade once the team gets back to Beaumont!

No one next year….

That last second 3 by them hurt… we really need to stop that O’Day kid from blowing past our players and getting to the cup. Otherwise, I don’t see much else we can do better defensive wise. We’re rebounding well. Need some stops though. Gonna be an interesting second half.

And ummmm…. On the second to last possession of the game, that Kimball inbound. Great defensive play by Porchia on the tipped inbounds pass causing the turnover that have United the last possession!

And he made up for his performance offensive-wise in last year’s game.

I’ve literally just gained tons of gray hair! Woooooo! I was nervous, but I’m so glad we had some good contributions from some unlikely sources late in the game. Namely the sophomore Payia. Great defensive game plan to deny Morris the ball late in the game. I’m just glad we were able to grit it out! Yes indeed! But how often do we see Arceneaux miss dunks and Yates miss this many shots? Even with a terrible game from our top guys, we found a way to win! Hats off to these kids. These home grown kids. No transfers, straight neighbor kids. Now, one more! On to Saturday!
