LCM led by Katon Brown with 27 pts and 13 rebs and Braden Bridges 21.  JJ Slack for Liberty had 12.
LCM now 14-10 on the year and will host Bridge City Friday in the district opener and also costume night!

I see silsbee is 12 and 7 but I bet those 7 lost came by playing top tough opponents teams that lcm would run from 

The 2017-2018 New Year's Warrior Classic was held this weekend at Legacy Christian. Legacy won the championship defeating Harmony Science Academy, Lighthouse Home School Athletics (LHSA), and High Island. High Island finished with a 2-1 record as did LHSA. Tekoa Academy and Harmony finished with 1-2 records and Gateway Christian finished 0-3. A big shout out to Jeromie Grammer and Legacy for winning and hosting a quality tournament. 

HJ was tough tonight. They will be dangerous in the playoffs.
If that's the best LCM can do Silsbee will roll them in district and it will be a short stay in the playoffs. They bottled up the main threat for most of the second half and couldn't convert.

LCM over Elgin by 20.  3-1 on the tournament.  Katon Brown and Christian Weatherly named all tournament.

LCM got taught some lessons today the hard way.  This is a REALLY good Memorial team and hopefully we're better for going over there and playing them.  

LCM 55, PNG 36.  Bears led by Braden Bridges with 16, Cole Frost with 15, and Christian Weatherly with 11.  LCM plays Nederland tomorrow at 11 in the semis.  Lcm moves to 7-5.

Hayden Hefner was named MVP.  Katon Brown and Braden Bridges from LCM were named to all-tournament team, as was William Fawcett from Vidor.  Not sure about other teams, but I'd expect 4 and 5 from Lufkin.  Both could really play.

Hunter Gonzalez's group never got in the playoffs.  Jordan Wells' group got in the next year as a four seed and lost in the first round to Crosby.  We haven't had a team win district since that '99 group, but are working to get back to that level.
As to Jason Throop, he always put on a show.  Hoping this year's team can be that fun to watch!

Former Silsbee Tiger All-State basketball player DC Stallworth has been hired by Little Cypress-Mauriceville to be an assistant basketball coach and assistant football. This is DC's first coaching job.
