  1. Hey check this out, too! We're leading the state in scoring......! [Hidden Content]
  2. [Hidden Content] Well, at this point it looks as though West Brook will be going Div II. If Baytown Sterling makes the playoffs (for the first time in years), that's where we will be going. The bright side to that is that it looks as though most of the better teams in 5A will be in the Div I bracket. So, we might get to play Katy, afterall. Now, if PAM could manage to step up this week and beat Sterling it would help out our chances to go Div I.
  3. I looked it up, and you're right. I dont know why I was thinking ya'll had. My bad. But I still think PAM will lose, in a close one.
  4. This one's a hard one to call. PAM has definitely got the talent to win, but they lack the coaching, IMO. Sterling has been the redheaded stepchild in the district in years past, but seems to be surging this year. They actually have a winning record for the first time in years, at 4-1. However, all their wins have been against teams with losing records, therefore PAM will fit the mold for another win by the Rangers. With Alexander out, I'd say the odds are against the Titans for a win. And seeing as how the Rangers beat PAM last year to keep the Titans out of the postseason, I'd say to look for a repeat performance. Sterling - 35 PAM - 13
  5. After three games this season, we have averaged 52.6 PPG on offense, while our defense has given up just over 16 PPG. If we stay somewhere near those numbers, we should be ok. Defense still needs ALOT of work, though. Depth is really whats killing us on defense, IMO.
  6. I know it's a little early to start talking playoffs, but there is a chance we might be going Div II, instead of Div I. Initially, I thought we might go in the larger one, but Sterling is winning. And they're the second largest school in the district, WB is the third largest. They beat Lee last night 21-20. So, if they win another two district games, they'll be going Div I and we'll be going Div II. Just something to think about. If that happens, we might get our chance at Katy afterall.
  7. Thank you, westend1. THat's exactly what I was trying to say. I think Bruin4Life misinterpreted my comments as being a knock on our boys. All I was trying to say is that we need to work on passing defense and slow down the oppositions passing lanes. Heck, Sterling is having a pretty good year up to this point.....and they dont run the ball much, THEY PASS IT......ALOT! We're definitely gonna have to get better in the secondary, or we might be suspect to have a repeat performance of the Clements game. :-[
  8. first off how can you not mention donte lopez...spectacular job tonight and took over at safety for garret when he got hurt second off our secondary...i dont blame the players for this i blame the coaching...they werent expecting pass and so when it occured everyone was wide eyed and once they went in and switched to more zone the passing game for channelview stopped... and give the kids a break its been 34 days since they played a game of course they will come out flat if thats happening two weeks from now then we will need to worry...but we are a second half team and thats what usually helps you in the playoffs we will be fine...thats why we were lucky to be playing channelview its getting us tuned up Ok you're right. I'll give credit where credit's due. Lopez did play a good game and made a great contribution in the second hald on defense. However, being a second half team against a team like NS is gonna be too little, too late. We need to come out firing on all cylinders, cause if we dont NS's defense will eat us alive. Again, I gave them credit for making the necessary adjustments at the half to keep CV out of the endzone. All I'm saying is that we need to come out of the gate swinging and not let the opposition even in the game. The game against NS will not be an easy one for us to win. But at this point, we've got three more tune-up games before that game is here. So, we need to get Jordan back and healthy....and keep everyone else healthy, and I believe we can give the Mustangs a good game.
  9. I'm more worried about their defense. They score as much as the offense......just ask the Titans.
  10. Congrats on your win tonight Raiders. Sounds to me like you guys showed up to play, and you were the better team. KUDOS. Since ya'll beat Central, and Central beat Vidor, and ya'll lost to Vidor......I'm not sure at all what to make of this district at this point. It's all a big jumbled mess. Nederland looks like the front runner, at this point. But there's alot of football left to play, and after tonight's win, I think the Raiders might be there at the end contending for a district title. Good luck on the rest of your games.
  11. I think the last nail was driven into that coffin at the end of the first quarter. I sat next to a NS fan at our game, and he said that NS's offense didn't play a single down in the first and that the defense scored three TD's! WOW.! We're gonna have a really tough time beating this team. I love my Bruins, but I think the deck is stacked against us in this one. NS has one MEAN defense. I guess we'll have to wait till Week 10 to find out. Sorry about the loss Titans.
  12. OK. Lemme start out by stating the obvious. Our defensive secondary SUCKS! STILL!! I thought this problem had been fixed. Judging by our two previous wins, it looked like it had. Our defense stops the run pretty well. The Falcons would take posession and run the ball on the first two downs and get nothing. On third down, they would throw like a 40-50 yard bomb for a completion. This kept them in the game for most of the first half in a game where Channelview shouldn't have scored at all. Period. Granted, we hadn't played in 5 weeks, but gosh we looked bad in the first half. In the second half, we looked like the Bruins from a couple of weeks ago. The coaches made a few halftime adjustments and we were able to keep them out of the endzone. The offense looked good in spurts. C-Mike made some great runs for a couple of TD's. We more than likely lost Jordan Garrett #4, for two to three weeks due to a high ankle sprain. C-Lou played OK, IMO. Ryan Grant, on the other hand , made some spectacular receptions and scored a few times as well. Overall, we didn't play as well as the score indicated. Yes, we scored 61 points, but against a fairly weak team. It was all WB in the second. If we dont start coming out strong from the beginning of the game, there is no way we're gonna be able to play with NS. They will kill us. Anyway, I give tonight's performance a B-. Maybe next week's game will improve a little bit.
  13. Game time is 7:00. Post updates here! I'm off to the game!!!!!! ;D
  14. Predictions? Post updates here!
  15. Scooter they did grow up in the Woodlands game; West Brook would have gotten spanked Too. Spanked??? I dont think so. TWH might have won a game against WB, but it wouldn't have been the whooping PAM took! NS is gonna eat PAM for breakfast and come looking for Sterling for lunch!
  16. Yep! It's the week prior to the NS game!
  17. I know you enjoyed this 4a ball, man! I hope I get a chance to check out some 5a ball myself. I'll try to catch a Memorial or another Brook game. so dont be a wuss and ride with me to watch the Bruins steamroll the Falcons tomorrow night. Dont worry about your Jags, they're gonna put up enough points to beat Lumberton. ;D
  18. ...by "owns", do you mean purchased? Why would you want to own an old nasty Raider? LOL! Just kidding Raider fans. ;D
  19. After only 2 games this season, I'd have to give the Brook the following rating: Offense-8 After playing a decent 4A and a sub-par 4A team, it's still unknown how good this offense can be. There are still alot of improvements that can be made, but still very good. Defense-6 Again, after only two games it's kinda hard to judge. We tend to stop the run fairly well, but we dont put enough pressure on the QB in passing situations. Although our secondary is MUCH improved from last year. If improvement is made in the next couple of games, by the time we get to Week 10, we should be hard to beat.
  20. Went there, registered, got the book!
  21. I'm suprised to admit this, but I think Vidor will win this game. The Panthers seem to come out firing, but fizzle late in the game. Vidor, on the other hand, comes out slow and gets things going in the second half. If Ozen could play four quarter football, they could make it interesting. But the Pirates are playing with alot of momentum right now, and I dont believe the Panthers have what it takes, at this point, to swing the momentum in their favor. The Pirates are playing with alot of enthusiasm, Ozen is not. Vidor 35 Ozen 7.
