  1. Yeah it does and sure would like to hear a positive update in the Hill's favor.
  2. Me too, but I'm proud of the showing after all the posts as to how they would be smoked by a superior team from a superior district.
  3. Woo hoo --- You go EAGLES!!! Thanks jdawg for the updates!!!! Much appreciated
  4. Alright Fanatic, whatever you think. I can only assume you're referencing my posts. Evidently, you've not read all my posts on this thread or the others. I haven't talked smack to anyone. Yeah, SFA85 and I have our differences but it's just good debate. And as much as I want to pinch his head off sometimes for some of the things he says, I think I would still like to sit in the grand stands and watch a game with him. He seems like a pretty bright fella and has as much love of the game as I do. I haven't conceded the win to Central nor has any other Hilllian that I know of. I think we all know it's going to be dogfight and I just wished I could be there to watch it.
  5. Alright, I knew this would get some good dialogue going...lol Fanatic...I'm not an idiot and I'm not saying definitively that Central is going to win. It's back to any given outcome on any given night. I do feel Central is way more talented than the Hill based on everything I can read about them. But that doesn't mean it's already over and I'm still rootin' for the Hill to impress some people. But it's not the end of the world if we lose either. I don't know that I would classify 21-4A as a "weak" district. Maybe weaker than 22-4A as a collective body, but not weak as in a bunch of pansies weak! WOS92...your last comment I don't feel is quite as accurate. Yes Beaumont has Westbrook, Central, Ozen, Kelly, Cathedral Christian and so forth...but do the math. 113+k divided by 5 or so schools is still wayyyy much more than 6000 or so. It actually equates to nearly 4 times the population if it were divided equally. I know, I know it's all hypothetical and speculation, but it's about the most tangible way to compare. The fact that students can choose their school may even be in the favor of the Beaumont schools. If you have a strong program and you have the wherewithall to send your kids to the elite program, then that program is almost a school with the "allstars". Not quite the same from a school of 6000 where there is no choice. Conversely, it could be said that it waters down the programs but I doubt that one is as accurate. And finally SFA, I never-ever said anything about black schools or inner city schools in ANY racial innuendo so PLEASE don't put words in my mouth. I would NEVER EVER bring race into these boards as it has NO PLACE here, PERIOD!!!!
  6. I hear you and I respect your opinion. I agree that perhaps sometime they do, but I also have been reading these threads all season and I would say it's about the same from a few from all schools. Keep yourself above it all young man, ok?
  7. Well son, you're right about that. However, I have found that there "is a lot of hateing" on everybody on most threads. For the most part, it's alot of overzealous and misrepresented pride in a program, team, or child. However, there is also a lot of "loveing" going on with props all around and I for one would much rather see that. But, talk nasty about MY school, and I'm not letting it go - not anymore. I'm not denegrating the program from which the vile comes, but when someone speaks untrue facts, I'll correct them. I will not however, correct and opinion as that's what it is and we're all entitled. Thank you for recognizing the hateing, but recognize for all, not just one program.
  8. Hey Pantherplay...are you selectively reading???? IF you're referring to my post, I'm simply having a conversation with SFA85 who seems to have a problem with the Hill. ""No, the Hill is a collection of small towns and no one wants to say it but 21 4A is drug store cotton soft. Until Forest Brook returns to their former selves(which I doubt) the Hill will continue to feast on mediocre programs unless C. E. King improves but anyway, you in the Hill get on your knees and thank the Lord the UIL can't read a map, otherwise those Broncos would've laid a horse in ya..... As for Central, like most multi school districts, they compete for athletes, under constant pressure from the district to raise test scores etc, but Stowers has come end with a program and a work ethic and turn that program into a constant winner. It's just not fast, talented kids running around being 'undicipline' as some people like to say, but Stowers and Co play a smash mouth variety of football and they will bring the hat on defense. As he said last year with tears in his eyes after beating Ozen, everybody told him not to take the job. Instead he comes to Old Town and they go from 1-9 to district champs....... ""
  9. You know SFA85, you're right on the money there about 1 town schools. But I do have a couple of questions for you though. 1. Are you implying that BH is not competitive? Careful now, there are a whole lot of people watching how you answer this and you don't want to look anymore moronic than you already do. Go read your record books or for that matter, the stats that WOS87 has posted. I think it proves that BH competes year in and year out. 2. Are you saying that a school like BH, who by the way, with a population pool of those 4 small towns you so eloquently waxed on about, equal about 6000 at the most, are on an equal talent pool level with Beaumont with a population 113,000+? Careful again, the numbers are not with you here. 3. Do you, in your honest opinion, feel that BH has some sort of "inside" connection at the UIL, which every two years places BH with a bunch of drug store cotton soft schools (whatever in the h@#$ that is)for the sole purpose of breezing through a regular season??? "ooooh, it's a conspiracy!!!" BH has no more control of what district it's put in than you do, so don't fault BH for being in a "weak district". It's based soley on geography nothing more my friend. I know, how about you get a job with the UIL and then you can have some real pull with where BH gets placed. Finally, not a question but a comment. I have never intimated that Central is a bunch of un-disciplined kids that run amok, not once! I do think everybody on here from BH realizes how strong/talented Central is and realize that it could get real ugly, real fast. However, we also are proud of our kids and the program and realize that ANYTHING can happen on a given night. That's why we play the games on Friday night. No, we don't have the thoroghbreds that your Beaumont schools have. We don't even have the thoroughbreds that Dayton has for that matter. (Gosh, I wished I knew where their speed comes from year in and year out), but we do have a stable of quarter horses with heart and desire. And I'll tell you another thing SFA85, I would much rather have a team of over-acheivers with heart and desire that gives me 110% everyday than a team full of talent and the egos that go with it. Now don't get your panties in a wad, I'm not saying Central is a team like that, but I AM SAYING that BH is the previous! Less talented, over-achievers, with hearts and desires the size of Texas!
  10. I'll tell all you GT teams something. You think BH talks alot of smack, right? There's about 10 or so of you teams from the greater GT area and everyone of you have something negative to say about BH. Maybe some of it's true and maybe some of it isn't. But the fact is since BH and Dayton are kind stuck off over here by ourselves, we're going to continue to back one another as we don't have a bevy of other schools to cover our back. When you get barraged by smack like that, one can only expect push-back! No, BH does't have a big town to pull athletes from so yes, perhaps Central mops the field with BH, but you know, it doesn't matter. The fact is BH made the playoffs AGAIN with a team with far less superior atheletes than it's opponents is a testament to it's fortitude and desire, nothing more. So go ahead if it makes you feel like a big man, bash away. In the end, it's just a game and you only look goofy.
  11. Ok, my humblest apologies for getting my hackles up. I appreciate you sending me your post from before and for setting the record str8. However, please don't let a few remarks from a few reflect the whole. No, as you can see I haven't been on long, but that just means that I haven't been posting long. I've only started posting because of all the rancor displayed towards the Hill over this season. Seeing your post about Barbers Hill -esque was total speculation on your part and was uncalled for. Especially from someone with your knack for facts. So, I apologize for my somewhat frustrated response, but we'd also appreciate a bit more respect for 10-0 season, regardless of what district we're in.
  12. I think either way it's going to be an entertaining game from what I read. Just an interesting thought: GP beat Channelview earlier this year and Channelview just beat WB and WB was in a 1st place tie in their 5A district. I know this doesn't mean squat, but GP must have something to be competitive.
  13. Hey Sports...., that was a good one "holding hands through the playoffs"... I think if we could we would because this is year is kind of special already for kids and fans for both programs!!!! No disrespect taken here if you're unfamiliar with one of most consistent winning programs in the state. The disrespect comes from the few who know about it and continue to bad-mouth the winning tradition for no other reason than that they're winners!
  14. Hey PurplePride, I did, I did. I did see dat puddy cat!!! Sort of like old times for the Broncos isn't it??? You know though, I should pull for the Cougars coming from our district, but I just CAN'T!!! I'm serious when I say it does my heart good to see all you Dayton fans pulling for the Hill. I'm 42 yrs old and all my life, all I've heard is Kill the Hill and all the negative. So my hat's off to you guys north of SlumGullion for being such GREAT supporters and for ripping 22-4A to pieces. Afterall, you guys did come from this "weak" district and all and I want you guys and us to meet eventually down the road. But not until we both take of the business at hand!! Good luck Broncos at home against Crosby!
  15. Tell me that "ps" isn't still harping on some before season scrimage???? Good gracious "ps", give it a rest, will ya???? You know that scrimmage doesn't mean diddly squat in scheme of things and if Lumberton played all they're starting crew for the entire scrimage instead of looking at all they're players, then I guess they deserved what they got this year -- NOTHING!
  16. Hey Purple, us HWY146 rooters will have to stick together because there sure isn't much love for our two schools. Don't know why either because we're such a lovable bunch!!!...LOL
  17. You got me, but that's the talk. Hey, does anybody have the under-varsity results from last nite?
  18. Congrats SFA on your daughters going to Central and making you proud. But honestly, if they're not suiting up on the varsity football team, I really don't see how you're doing squat about Central beating BH. Now, if your boys played on Central's varsity football team, then by all means, you would have room to sqwawk. Seriously SFA, just raggin you a bit. I'm sure your daughters are great athletes in their own right and you deserve to be a proud pappa! Let's just hope for a safe, injury free game next week. Peace Out!
  19. OK, SFA, I'll give you that. Does he play for the Jags varsity team?
  20. Does SFA even have a high school anymore???? What's this living in the past junk??????? Huh??? And so what if Central beats BH, you didn't have squat to do with it SFA85!
