  1. I agree the pics and penalties are killers; really unfortunate to say the least! What was with that porous secondary too?? I don’t remember such wide open receivers in the previous two games!
  2. I said last week, this coaching staff playing to not lose with the lead in the 4th is gonna cost us. Run the damn offense that got you the lead, and quit this uber conservative play call! Stupid!!
  3. Way to prevail Eagles! Good win against a much improved Manvel team. I thought Barrier looked much more in control tonight, than last week. I know getting reps under fire will do that; and the young man can spin that ball! Again though, I’m perplexed that we can’t seem to match adjustments the opponents are making. This is gonna be a deadly trend in district if we can’t figure that piece out. …and for crying out loud, you have just been gashed the whole 2nd half, and your offense has gone stale and not moving the ball very well, so you double down and decide to play uber conservative with 8 minutes. Cmon…don’t play not to lose, play to win, coach! Yes we won, but man…we were lucky tonight! A win is a win though, and Eagle Nation will take it, gladly…! Go get ‘em Eagles next week too!
  4. I was wondering the same thing about the QB…New program, 3A to 5A quickness/speed adjustments, etc…he can spin the ball for sure, just looked a little too hurried. Defense looks pretty good, but over the middle needs tightening up in a hurry or we gonna be trailing on the scoreboard a lot! Offense just looked a bit anemic, far too often. I know it’s first game and new Coaches and all, but yikes! NC defense made good adjustments after 1/2, but it didn’t look like BH matched…that might not bode well if we can’t make the necessary 1/2 tine adjustments! I agree though, a win is a win…but damn, get those boys sone electrolytes…a lot of cramping going on! Hope Morton is ok, will need his speed and agility for sure! Go BH!
  5. Those Lady Eagles are rockin’!
  6. IMHO, I think the biggest reason most of these "special" coaches you all are so quick to say turned BH down, and probably did, wasn't necessarily because of Poole, or the School Board, or community, or anything else you like to sling, but more realistically the fate of who may very well end up their district mates or bi-district opponent moving up to 6A...Period! I really doubt ANY of those fellas would want to put their legacy and pride on the line with that daunting fact! Face it, when a coach reaches that successful level in their career, I don't think many would want to take over a program with good athletes having to compete every week against those D1 Juggernauts, to just struggle to reach the playoffs as the 4th place team, or to be abruptly eliminated by NS, SC, or 'Cita every friggin' year in Bi-District! That just doesn't make much sense, $200k or whatever the number ended up being! At some point, money isn't everything; although, I would like a $200k salary...LOL! If BH was in an area with multiple feeder schools and a population level that supported a more conducive talent pool, then yeah, maybe...but a rural-esque, bubble of population in a small, independent school district up against those guys...nope, not buying it! I just don't think those Uber-successful coaches would jeopardize what they have for that. I don't know Simper's pedigree, but I wish him luck in his new endeavor. Whatever happens, I expect BH to compete with heart and guts with what lies ahead in the very near future, and I have no doubt they'll respond accordingly! I'm sure he is a great motivator, coach, gentleman, and although I don't know him from Adam, as a lifetime BH'er, I'll support him. Go Eagles and yes, I'm a homer - so what!
  7. Thank you
  8. Who is the home team for this game, please?
  9. The way they’re playing tonight, we’ll end the season with 4 consecutive losses!
  10. I don’t recognize this team!
  11. Lordt…we look abysmal tonight!
  12. Nah, I disagree! This D is better than any Cowgirl had! He had some good players, but top to bottom, this D is better than any we have had in a very long time, IMO! 1st DP td on trick play was just a tough one. 2nd DP td, the ref in the center of the field took out 2 and maybe 3 defenders in pursuit when runner reversed field. The 3rd DP td was a result of the boneheaded muffed punt on the 4 yard line. The boys played hard and I’m more frustrated with play-calling to start 2nd 1/2. DP made a great defensive adjustment to shut down the off tackle play that was gashing them, but for some reason, we kept trying time and time again for mostly no or negative yardage. Should have been a W, but coulda/shoulda, right? Buckle down next week for the 4th 6A team to start the season and get after it Eagles!
  13. I simply can’t believe, that Cleveland is so devoid of talent! To be rocked, game in and game out, makes no sense to me!! Granted, I’ve not seen them play and know nothing about what’s going on over there, but gracious, how sad!!
  14. Dayum! I’m still hurting from that hit that Manvel receiver took in the 4th qtr, and I was sitting 40rows up!! Probably one the cleanest, hardest hits in HS football I’ve seen in a LONG time…and I’m old! One thing about this Eagle defense that impresses me, is they not only play keys and techniques well, they will damn sure separate one from their jock strap. These fellers HIT!
  15. Is the game still delayed to injury?
  16. Dang…barn burner! Any news on girl’s game against Manvel, as well?
  17. I definitely support Abseck and his staff and how they coach, consistently! I did NOT like the 2 "give aways" last year, but it does happen, unfortunately! I hope they have learned that lesson! I sort of think this district is not gonna be a cakewalk for any team, actually - any given Friday. The loss of Crosby from our district schedule is just like the loss of Dayton a few years ago. Now we get big bad WB and Angleton and the normally always tough Ball to add to PA's athletic team. Gonna be fun and ready to start this new chapter!!
  18. Two and Through! I just have to scratch my head sometime with the play calling and decision calling with this bunch!
  19. I just said the same thing! Emotion is one thing, but my God, this is ridiculous!
  20. That 1st qtr and 1st part of 2nd qtr for the Eagles were pathetic. Dropped TD in the endzone, great run and then fumble on the two and scoop and long gain for MN. Then 3rd possession, drive to the two, and then procedure penalty, then delay, and could only muster a FG. Then MN drives the field and we try and substitute on consecutive hurry-up O by MN and we can’t get our guys off the field in time!! I was more pissed at our coaches looking confused than I was our execution. I was afraid we were giving NN the emotional edge on a nasty night! Thank goodness we righted the ship when we did!! GREAT job Eagles gaining your composure! Now suck it up and build on the win and don’t pull another Porter game after a big win!!
  21. I think many were concerned a bit coming into this game. To me, it looked like they just didn’t have that “edge” they showed against PAM. I’m not saying they were flat, but definitely not the edge I’ve seen in the past 2 games! Gotta hand it to Porter though, they came in with a plan and executed; bad reffing, poor coaching, poor qb decision making and all! You just can’t drive the field and fumble on the 2 yd line. You can’t have 2nd 2 inside the 10 and make QB decisions, and you can’t have 4th and 2 and drop open passes in the end zone! Learn from it Eagles and get ready for next week!
  22. Yeah, when I was finally able to get onto Texan Live (grumble grumble), The Hill looked pretty good both offensively and defensively, but nearly fell completely apart in the last 4 or so minutes. First game jitters I guess, but gotta keep focus. Got a win to start to the season so I'll take it! Go Eagles!!
  23. Thank you sir. Yeah, I was trying to watch on that crap network too and then it logged me out and I can't get back in. Thanks for the updates.
