I come from not a family full of great athletes but of educators and people who worked hard for everything they have. My siblings and I were raised to do your job and out work the next person to get ahead. I do have a few family members who were great athletes and a NFLer in our family but that's far few in between. My mother cleaned homes with her mom as a child and graduated from Waldo Frazier Mathews in Silsbee not Silsbee High. We have a long way to go before everyone can be viewed equal. Always put yourself in a situation and ask, if the shoe was on the other foot, how would this look. Is it the color of the skin or is it their character? Ignorance has no color.

If you arent giving sports scholarships, they star kids wont come. They dont come, your team is trash. Team is trash no televised games. Zero sponsorships. There will never be a time that college doesnt pay for athletic talent. That's your revenue generation.

You do that and most schools will tank. Looks what's happening now in the Ivy League and Notre Dame.

Athletics bring in more review than professors. Why do that? Texas, Ohio St, Bama, and Clemson football bring in the money to that makes the school go. I would vote to pay kids $2500 a game.

I can see HISD, Cy-Fair, Katy, and many others following suit.

I hope the COVID-19 numbers have spiked and we can get this thing down. These kids deserve a right to earn a scholarship but have to consider their saftey 1st. Again I could see a scenario where there isnt any football until late September.
