  1. As far as I know, BC is the only TXHSFB team EVER to opt up a division and: 1. Win a district championship 2. Win a playoff game If anybody knows of another team who has done so, I’d like to hear it.
  2. Right… a 4aD2 school opted up to D1 and knocked off a team from the “District of Doom” or whatever yall gloss yourselves.
  3. Bc still bullying those 4a d1 teams.
  4. If they did anything wrong, they would have self-reported.
  5. I’m kidding, of course. But I think we’d have made the playoff almost certainly, and had competitive games with the other playoff teams in the D2 district. I don’t feel like looking back through the snapshot thread. Where are they thinking bc’s numbers will place them at realignment? I read on Smoaky that the unofficial name of the rule that’s gonna eliminate the opt-up is “The BC Rule.” They don’t want smaller teams like us bullying softer teams.
  6. I think they’d finish no worse than second had they hadn’t opted up to face the larger schools. Jasper isn’t very good, I think BC d would have given HF fits. Silsbee tends to crack under pressure, and we’re long overdue to take one back from WOS. No doubt… we’d have ruled that district, too. I guess we’ll never know.
  7. Can anybody think of another team that opted up a division and then won the DC? That’s pretty special of you ask me. Despite LCM’s treachery, we were one touchdown away from going undefeated in the District. Let’s Go Big Red!
  8. Last year BC at the three seed gave their opponent fits while the 1 and 2 seeds from our district got embarrassed. We still lost, but we showed up.
  9. Huffman is a good team…
  10. Played one good half of defense all season and it was just coincidence that it was when they were holding a device that told them what play we were about to run. Crazy, huh?
  11. Why is the defensive coordinator suspended?
  12. That’s kind of my point. I recognize that he’s just one man and responsible for his own actions. Keeping him on the staff means that it’s not just him, the HC/AD and administration ARE cut from the same cloth if they keep him around after two such incidents. It’s a pattern. My opinion is that he locked his job down by taking the fall for the rest of the staff. Gonzales wasn’t hawking signals for himself and the offense. The defensive staff was obviously in on it, too. I honestly thought Peevey was a good coach who wanted to take his talents back home, even if it meant he’d never make it back to Dallas (or out of the region, for that matter). Love for Alma mater over the gold ring-I respect that. Now I think he’s dirty.
  13. Who’s gonna be trying to steal signs tonight if Gonzales can’t go? Or is he gonna change his shirt and put on a fake mustache so he can still coach? Like I said. I wouldn’t bragging if I had to cheat to beat a school that belongs in a lower classification.
  14. Lum should handle this one easily.
  15. Well, if a district is weak because your team is in it, what does that say about your team? Y’all need to ask yourselves why that state championship caliber coach can’t get the Bears out of the first round.
  16. If Gonzales still has a job, Peevey condones cheating. Maybe the third time Gonzales is on the UIL carpet for cheating, Peevey will see the light, I guess
  17. I’ve kept quiet about this, but I talked to a BC defensive starter after the game. When asked what happened in the first half, he nailed it. “They got one of our bands and knew our plays before the snap. We went back to signaling plays in from the sideline and they couldn’t stop us.” That’s the whole “adjustment” that BC coaches made… they stopped giving the plays to LCM. Like I said… they had to cheat to beat a 4A D2 school. Did Peevey forget how to coach or do they just suck up there? You be the judge.
  18. Sometimes good things happen to bad people. Congrats on the “win” LCM.
  19. Yes… that’s correct.
  20. That’s a good point made in the hearing… bc had to stop using their tech because of LCM concealing the band which put BC at a disadvantage.
  21. I’ve read a lot of smack from the LCM fans, but the end of the day the Cardinals are fighting up/out of their weight class and tied for first-and I think they’d be undefeated in the district if not for what happened in this game. What does that say about LCM if BC is accused of taking the “easy road” by opting up to play the Bears? If anybody wants to take a trip down memory lane, how were things going for the Bears before they dropped down from 5A D1? They stunk. Then they hired a “state championship caliber” coach… and he somehow lost his mojo… or BOJO, if you prefer. I don’t blame them for cheating… I would do anything to avoid getting handled up by a much smaller school from across town, too. Like when they duck their longtime cross town rival Mustangs. Whatever happens in the meeting today doesn’t matter. I believe that the Bears deserve a forfeit, but it won’t change anything. We’ll see ‘em next year and pick up where we left off the second half.
  22. Can we insert a poll? I think we all miss that guy.
  23. We've played both, and Silsbee takes this.  It's hard to cheat on the road, WOS...
