1. Great win!  Lamar's winning streak is now officially two against SE LA.
2. Improved offensive line, but always a concern when you lose seniors in the key skill positions.  Good luck L-town!
3. Congrats to Coach Reyenga and Lumberton.  He's done a great job coaching.
4. OK, everyone convinced me about replacing Roc.  So, do you go after a proven big name coach or a coach from a smaller program that has a good winning %?
5. Lamar fans are brutal.  I'm a Lamar grad and have been a long time Lamar season ticket holder who would love to see them winning and competing again.  I can see both sides of this, but knowing Roc is a local son and his experience under Tubbs, I would give him another year.
6. KEEP ROC I would like to see some adjustments, but I think Coach Roc should stay.  He does need help with the x's and o's so add a good offensive coordinator.  He's doing good with the recruiting and he learned a lot under Tubbs and Calipari.  Another coaching change will keep this program in constant dissaray.  Lamar ain't no Kentucky, Duke or UNC.  The program needs some stability.  A big name coach will not stay in Beaumont or at Lamar very long.  Look no further than Tidwell, he's a keeper too.
7. Ok, I'm familiar with Hull Daisetta.  Sorry I wasn't familiar with the acronym.
8. Who are the H-D Bobcats?   "H-D Bobcats" Loved By Some... Feared By Most, Respected By All !!!  Known by no one!!
9. Todd Graham is the former Rice Coach who bolted to Tulsa for several years and now on to Pittsburgh.  In talking with some Rice coaches last year, it was evident they had no respect for him.  We also visited him in Tulsa twice and he was very charismatic, but he also struck me as someone who would do anything to move up the ladder no matter whose fingers he stepped on.  I don't know if that's a bad thing in college, if you hesitate you might just miss an opportunity.  Seems to be the popular decision these days for any coach on every level and sport. Regarding the other Todd (Dodge), good luck to him as he joins Coach Grahams staff in Pittsburgh..
10. Congratulations to all the picks and especially to the first timers.  The whole district was very competitive and there were many players who performed well, consequently some players could have been and were probably overlooked.  Remember, these selections are voted on by the coaches and also the coaches cannot vote for a player on his own team.  It's not a perfect process, but it's a fair process all things considered.    Chuck Hughes
11. Being a first year program, Lamar is doing fine.  Obviously there are areas to improve in as with every team.  As fans we need to cut Coach Woodard some slack, he will be making improvements in the players as well as the coaching staff.  He's already shown his ability to adjust with his change in QB.
12. Let's get this straight, the Raiders are behind Credeur.  There will always be a few disgruntled people after a tough season.  They'll get over it.  Yes it was a tough season for Lumberton, but I like to think of it more as a very competitive district.  All the teams in the district were very respectable and many of the games throughout the district could have gone either way.  I think in the end, the teams that had more depth and fewer injuries were the ones that survived.  Good luck to the 20-4A playoff teams as they march on.
13. I appreciate and accept the apology.  We're all fans and all very competetive, I know it's easy to say anything on this forum.  Ryan has been working hard this off season and wants nothing more than the team to be successful and unified.  As a QB dad, I've had to develop a thick skin because you're son is always under a microscope and sometimes you just have to bite your lip and move on.  One thing I'd like everyone to remember, you can't judge a community by the actions or comments of a few.  99% of the people everywhere are great and we should give everyone the benefit of the doubt and not be influenced by those few.  Thanks again.  Chuck Hughes
14.

Raideroldertimer- you have questions the coaches a few times mainly on Hughes playing QB. I might have over reacted but I hate when people disrespect coaches who spend 7 days a week working for a team/town. These guys dont deserve to be questioned after what they did for Lumberton. This is a place that expects to be in the playoffs every year after 48 years of nothing yet we hear about speculation from people who cut lawns for a living.
Well first of all, yes I did say they OUGHT to move Hughes over to running back, not for lack of respect, but because as I said before he would be a marquee back, he is that good at running the ball. My guess is you're probably his dad, because I understand from others that his dad is pretty adamant that he play QB, I will say this though, after seeing the play where he hands the ball off to the running back then leads him through the line as a blocker, I can understand why the coach has him at QB. Nothing against Purks, he's a good kid, but Hughes does a much better job on that particular play, in my opinion it tips the scales on the QB selection. I'm just glad we actually have two QB's capable of starting for most any team in the area. As far as cutting lawns for a living, those that I know do that make pretty good money at it, as for me, I cut my own lawn and that's it. By suggesting he ought, I don't feel I'm questioning the coach at all, it is purely speculation, something that is done in this forum quite often. This forum is for people to smack talk, to express their opinions and frankly just to have fun talking to people with like interest. Plus, if you were to ever just stand near where my friends and I watch the game, you would hear ME, that's right me, defending the coaches decisions to my friends when they go off because of a blown play. Relax, Ryan will get a scholarship as a QB and maybe with luck we can see him leading the Texans to their first ever Superbowl and that will be irregardless of my opinion on his running back abilities or YOUR opinion that I'm trying to coach the team.
Raider Old Timer:  Hi this is Ryan Hughes' dad Chuck.  You are a funny guy, but I would appreciate it if you left me or the mention of me out of your posts.  I know you have your opinion and that's fine, but you do have many of your facts wrong.  It is the coach on every football team that decides who the QB is, not the father.  Why would you even bring me into the discussion?  WTB is a very young and former Lumberton Assistant coach and very knowledgeable about Lumberton Football.  I wish I was his age, but I am much older.  If you want Ryan to play runningback, then go talk to Coach Credeur or shut up.  Thank you.
