  1. Okay.. Here's my take.. Last week, the quick and elusive QB from GP gave the Hill fits in the first half it sounds like. To the tune of 22-0. This week, they play against a more polished, quicker, and more elusive QB who has more weapons than GP. But, the difference this week is if Central gets up 22-0, they will not lay down and die in the 2nd half like GP did last week. I don't think this will be a blowout, however. Central has been known this season to dominate for 1 half and then set the cruise control on offense. I still think they will win by 2 TD's though. More than that if they keep the intensity up all 4 quarters. I'd like to see them open a can for 4 quarters like they did against my Dogs earlier this season. They were mighty impressive that night!

  2. Galena Park's 8 wins have come against teams with a combined record of 19-51. So, with that said, I would not put too much stock into their record. Also, Galena Park was 10-0 last year or the year before and got trounced in the first round by Ozen to the tune of 63-7. I am not saying that is a precursor to this Saturday night, but I am saying that sometimes records don't mean squat! I have not seen GP play, but a highly respected LaMarque fan all but guaranteed me that Nederland would handle GP fairly easily. He is usually right. Looking forward to seeing GP's QB who has already been offered by Nebraska.

  3. Lots of starters return, but is that really a good thing from a team that won only 1 district game? I will say this, that soph RB, i believe Hanna is his name is going to be a HOSS. He was the player for Lumberton that impressed me the most.

Y'all will mop thru pre-district again and then play against the big boys and end up around .500 is my guess.

  4. 3RD ROUND? For all intents and purposes the 3rd round is a stretch. A state ranked and loaded Lamar Consolidated team is waiting for us in round 2 if we get past GP and they get past Friendswood. We would be a huge underdog in that game with or without a secondary. I just hope we beat GP so we can play them. I'll make a side bet with you though, Nederland will get further in the playoffs than Crosby will. At worst it'll be a tie. Dayton is for real.

  5. Nederland could not beat VIDOR which means they will not make it past the second round

So, does this mean that Crosby will lose 1st round since they lost to PN-G who did not make the playoffs?

Probably so... but Dayton is the reason y'all will lose, not PN-G.. Just like for Nederland, the team that beats them in the playoffs is the team that will cause their season to end, not the loss to Vidor 2 months ago.

  6. I can't think of several... but a few that I thought could play D-1 if not for baseball were...

Brad Sullivan--- not as a QB though

    Dustin Hood

Also, I thought that these two had the size and speed to play D-1..

    Troy Sumrall

    Ryan Piletere

I definitely think Micah can play D-1. I would love to see him go somewhere like Tech or U of H, a place that would utilize his running and receiving skills. Any word on how the recruiting is going and who is recruiting him?

  7. Comparing Justin Williams to Michael Mosley is not comparing apples to apples.. 2100 yds and 30 TD's against a below average schedule in 10 games.. Mosley has 100 yards and 3 TD's less and missed a game vs. Central and was hobbled by injury in a few more. Also went against two of the best defenses in the region vs LaMarque and Dayton. I would think Mosley would be well over 2500 yards, probably more vs. the competition that Deweyville plays. But, you do have to take into consideration that Mosley has a great O-Line as well. So, these comparisons are really not fair. I have not seen Justin Williams play live and I am not taking anything away from his great accomplishments this season. But, to me Mosley's numbers and the competition he has faced are much more impressive.

  8. I was talking trash about the pre-season hype you guys were spewing, not about Friday's game. Frankly, I have no idea if we will beat you guys Friday night or not. All I know is this district is sending a very mediocre 3rd place team this year no matter who it is. I don't think we can stop y'all's passing game and I do not think y'all can stop Mosley. That's not trash talk and you have to admit that Lumberton thru the years has much more Thursday night success than Friday night success. Do you care to argue that?

  9. Of course Lumberton won the sub-varsity JV game.. They are like 8 billion and 0 the last billion years remember. They definitely know how to play on THURSDAY nights..

With that being said, I am not talking trash about Friday.. I am worried about the game due to our pass defense problems, injuries, and players that we've lost to grades.. I just pointed the stuff above out because this is ALL this board heard about when Lumberton was mopping thru their pre-district joke of a schedule.

I think Nederland will pull thru because I don't think L-town can stop Mosley, but I think it will be a close game.
