And all the excuses to begin...or coach this...the umpires that...All teams in this district seem pretty evenly matched...Buna has coaching and tradition...A lot of young promising players on the other teams...there are no "weak sisters" in this district...should be a dog fight till the end..

[/quote] Time will tell...but, looking at overall talent, if this team were anywhere but Warren, people would be scheduling vacation days for the playoffs...Similar to Kountze football in the eighties, when they held the longest losing streak in Texas...then under Don Elif, came out of no where, broke the streak and challenged for a district title...Now, there is a new coach in Warren...let's see what happens next....      

This is the year Warren rattles some cages...if they don't break out of district, they will be on the heals of who ever does...They started several freshmen and after a rough start were a serious threat to all the playoff bound teams by the end of the year. They put a serious challenge to Buna in Buna, and finished the year with a win over playoff bound Hardin...This team is a year older, bigger, faster and more confident....returning eight of nine starters, things only look up.     

Near as I can figure it looks like this: 04-05  Harmony - Position/ record unknown 05-08  Huffman-Hargrave - Position/ record unknown 08-09  Spledora - Assistant JV Basketball 09-10  OFF No mention of any accomplishments or overall record. Unless someone can fill in the gaps or I am just missing something, it certainly appears we are dumping the basket program.       

Don't get down on Ktz. I think Warren is turning it around.

No, my kid is playing...alot...but a player has to bring SONETHING to the table...when they don't, when they can't, repeatedly can't....when the bench player meets and beats the field player in all five skills (Running, fielding throwing, hitting for average, hitting for power)....when the superintendents interference is public knowledge....the coach ceases to be a coach and becomes somethingelse.     

Buna looked like a TEAM. They put thier best players on the field and played to win...it shows...Warren has potential, but till they quit playing Politically Correct baseball and assigning positions based on graduating class instead of talent and ability...they will continue to be just another team in the district....
