  1. [quote author=bruno994 link=topic=82784.msg994135#msg994135 date=1302174606] So in 5 games, the Warriors have become too deep, too strong for Buna?  [quote] Yep... ;) ;) ;)
  2. Watch and see. I don't put a lot of faith in old scores. Like, Deweyville 6 -  Buna 3 or, Kountze 3 - Buna 2. Teams the Warriors, well, just plain beat. I look forward to a good close game, if you can keep Clark on the mound (He really is good). Work him fast, keep his pitch count down, you'll stay in the game. Just trying to help. GO Warriors!!!
  3. Deep? Well, lets just say most of Warren's bench could start for Buna or anyone else in this district. All I can say is rest Clark well. He is all that stands between Buna and a 10 run rule. But, go ahead, overlook Warren, like Buna did Deweyville, or Kountze. Count on "tradition" to put runs on the board. Then wonder what happened when it is all over. It will be a good game, hard fought, most regime changes are. A new tradition start Friday!! GO WARRIORS!!!
  4. This district is like a box of chocolates. You never know what your gonna get... Good job Bucs.  ;D
  5. Defensive edge to Warren. Slight pitching advantage to Buna. But ohhh, them Warrior bats is H-O-T!!!  The tribe brings the war path to Buna and the drive for five ends Friday. Warren 6-4 in 7.
  6. Yes, Kountze will bounce back. But the myth of dominate pitching is dead. It don't exist in this district, not this year. Just a bunch of scrappy teams.
  7. I'd save the reciept on that speed gun. And haning K's when your about to get run ruled....well, take pride in what you can. Good job Warren. Bats were the difference. Warren hit, Kountze didn't.  Offense scores runs, runs win games.
  8. Both teams 3-2 in district. Warren lost to Buna and Anhuac. Kountze lost to Anhuac and Deweyville. Key game for both teams. Kountze has bright spots. Warren is just solid. Warren 5-2 in 7.   Oh, and I never saw a pitcher score a single run. Seen them walk a few in though.....
  9. Warren just beat the same team, also in extra innings, in that teams park, agianst their "ALL STAR" (see related posts) pitcher. I give the edge to Warrior bats. Should be close, innings 5-6-7 will be the difference. --Is the kid who took the ball to the face against Hardin all right??
  10. Gotta save the ace...gonna need him Friday.
  11. He pulls the starter one inning earlier and it turns into a thumpin by Warren. Your reliever is honestly just someone who stands on the mound and tries to throw hard. Warren came out hitting him and it would only have gotten worse as the innings piled up. The hit him (and beat him) last year as freshmen. The more he pitched the more Warren would score.  Your a good team. But thats it, good. Not incredible, not dominate, just good. Like most teams out there.
  12. Hardin could not close the door or pull away from Warren. Both teams played well and made key plays. Who ever the relief pitcher was, Warren has owned him for two years running....Starter for Hardin was good, Warren just wore him out by patient hitting and running his pitch count up. Warren hit the ball when it counted and made no base running errors. All the teams in this district "are for real". Warren and Hardin included.
  13. This is a VERY tight district. Anybodys game any given night. One error or one walk can make a big difference this year. Should be an exciting finish!! Good luck to all!!!
  14. Point taken. "Also ran" is to strong and degenerative a phrase. "Just another dog in the hunt" would be more apt.
  15. Well, Break, ride Clark for all he's worth. He is good. Probably district MVP or at a minimum a serious contender. But, other than that Buna is an "also ran", really nothing special, good, but by no means any where near a powerhouse.
  16. People apparently don't travel much...I mean gas is EXPENSIVE...but people should realy try to see more than just one team... 1. Evadale 2. Hardin 3. Buna 4. Warren 5. Hemphill 6. Anhuac 7. E/C 8. West Sabine 9. Kountze 10. Woodville Based on overall talent and depth. We'll see the tell of the tape starting next week anyway.
  17. Glad to hear Chester managed to field a team this year. I had heard they would not have enough players.
  18. Colby may be good. But, unless Kountze has an entire new team they won't have the wins for him to get any serious consideration. Honestly, Warren swept Kountze last year and started mostly freshmen and back up pitchers in both match ups. A player can be good, or even better than good, but if the team does poorly, forget it.
