4. Realistically, this is not unanticipated.  Go to Houston or Dalllas on any given weekend and check out the club volleyball scene.
5. Westbrook, Kelly and HF scrimmaged Saturday at Westbrook.  Man, was it nice to hear the sounds of basketball back in the gymnasium. ;D
6. Huffman 3  HF 1
7. HF played Huffman early in the season.  Huffman was the more talented team and won.  HF has shown big improvement as of late.  We'll see how it all comes together Tuesday night.  Proud of the Lady Horns either way.

10. 1.  Build a program that is sustainable (this year, next year, five years from now). 2.  Communicate your standards and hold those who participate, spectate or administrate to those standards. 3.  Prepare your athletes to win and coach them during competition to give them the best chance to do just that. Wins and losses will take care of themselves.  Groups of athletes will come and go.  Young, motivated leaders will be consistently produced.
11.
The rankings are done by one man receiving emails from parents and coaches.  He does the best he can with the information he receives.
At least these rankings got some people to post on the volleyball board.  At 15 posts, its got a chance to be the most commented thread on volleyball board in quite some time ::).  Besides, rankings will mean nothing in just a few weeks and we will see just how strong or weak the local districts are.
12.
I don't remember hf being good at all. Don't see it as a rebuilding season but a normal season rather
Enjoy your current success and work to sustain it.  Its a lot harder to get it back once you've lost it.
13. Rome wasn't built in a day.  HF's Football Program has been in decline for several years.  The last playoff appearance was the first year that Paul Walker was head coach.  To expect it to come back in a single year was never realistic.  Athletes, Parents, Coaches and Administrators all had a role to play in the decline.  I have seen evidence that several things are moving in the right direction.  Will the Athletes commit to doing what it takes to achieve their potential?  Will the parents serve as a positive influence within the program and community?  Will the coaches be successful in preparing the athletes to achieve?  Will the administrators find the optimum balance between academics and athletics that will encourage growth in the district?  Only time and patience will yield the answer.

17. Silsbee 3  HF 2 Not domination, but a win for Silsbee nonetheless.
18. Thanks for bumping this one Bobcat05.  The Volleyball Board (and season) has been less than interesting for the last couple of months.  HF will be adjusting to Coach Collazo after the old coach left late (very late) in the summer.  The one thing I can say for sure is that it will be good to see the girls running up and down the court once again.  :)
