In all honesty, and not trying to be offensive, but who really cares what your karma is? I never even look at mine. To quote John Wooden, "'Be more concerned with your character than with your reputation, Because your characater is what you REALLY are, While your reputation is merely what others THINK you are"
Well said.

UIL puts Kountze coach on 1-year probation

You are absolutely right. Who am I (or that other guy for that matter) to question a situation or offer personal thoughts on the matter? I will have to learn that certain people are not to be questioned under any circumstance and opposing perspectives are not to be offered. Can't help but wonder, though, if Mr. Joubert didn't deem it a "big deal", why he went to the trouble to appeal the ruling. -
Dove- Dont you think that Tigersvoice is one of the more objective, well reasoned posters on this board?

I thought that was sort of an implied method of conduct for news reporting.
BTW, it did appear that happened, if you read the last sentence of the posted article: "Joubert declined comment Wednesday"
My guess is that he was "advised" not to comment. It seems to me, though, that if you are going to publish something that has the potential to negatively impact a persons career, as much of the "story" as possible ought to be included in the report. First thing that comes to my mind was that they mentioned that Joubert appealed the case. Maybe it would have been helpful to know what the appeal was based upon. -

Then you believe that is adequate explanation? -
Stevenash, I have done NONE OF THE ABOVE, and still got negative karma...any other suggestions?
I think your history might still be a factor. That ought to go away over time.

Here is an idea regarding the karma- perhaps if you do not belittle communities, teams, coaches, or players, you substantially reduce your chances of getting a lot of negative Karma.

21-3A -Fight for 3rd place Spot

I think we can all agree that Silsbee and HJ will make the playoffs. I think the two premier teams battling for the third spot will be between WO-S and Hamshire-Fannett. Yes, that same HF team I've been predicting for the past 2-3 years will be in the playoff hunt this year. Whose really favored or battle tested to win that third playoff spot? Time will tell.
If you predict the same thing for a long enough time period, you will, someday, be right.
Nope, I consistently said HF would be in (district) playoffs in 2012, 2-3 years ago.
1. I said all through the drought in the summer and fall that we would get rain. 2.. Since the district races are not at the halfway mark yet, might it be a slight bit premature to say you were correct? (since they havent secured third place yet) -

SETXSLAM- Just an FYI - the player that struggled the most at the free throw line in the Silsbee game shot 100% against WOS from the line ( either 6for 6 or 8 for 8)

Even if they win, it will be way too early to celebrate. Gotta be careful not to appear arrogant or defiant as that usually costs you in the long run. Now, if they should still be playing a month or so later, then a celebration might be in order.
I look for Pollock Central to have a strong second half.
How many teams will be forced to encounter the Gestapo in the second half?
Don't get me started, man.
WIll you be reporting a dunk count?
Thank you! I'm trying to get the Naval Observatory to change the atomic clock readout ("at the tone...") from UTC to Havoc Countdown mode, too. Hecklers, get there early!
;D

SETXSLAM- I hope you have seen this post because you requested that I post the countdown the other day and I wanted to honor your request.
Ok, let me get this straight... Since the dunkometer showed 1-1, and since WO-S's showed on TV, then does that mean that the media felt like the dunkothon was slightly tipped in WO-S's favor?
And we all certainly know how well qualilfied the media is to make that determination. -
I like Silsbee's set up. One whole side for the visitors, one whole side for the Tiger fans. (775 per side). Now, question is, will that be the same when the Tigers visit HJ? ;)
Probably not since there is no prescription for any one school to have the same set up as another. That certainly wasnt the case at WOS either.

Hardin Jefferson vs WOS Predictions

In spite of a VERY weak schedule. -
I apologize for upsetting you with no pun intended but their is a huge difference between screaming voices and bass drums. I welcome homecourt advantage (perts) but not at the expense of safety. There is just something about that type of sound that sticks with you for days which cannot be healthy. I can't say that watching senior citizens trying to climb to their seats without hand rails was any fun either. You can remove my comment if you deem it to be neccesary or I edit to make it more politically correct..
Looks to me like possibly/likely your comments were sorely misinterpreted, Jettyman. Obviously it can, in no way, be deemed a sour grapes comment. Your concern for the safety of senior citizens is to be commended. If others knew your background and true concerns, there would be no erroneous assumptions about your intent.

I had an opportunity to watch all three games at WOS gym last evening and I would like to congratulate the Mustang coaching staff for what they are doing/accomplishing with the basketball program. Even though the final margin in the varsity game seemed large, the Mustangs were very much in the game for 2.5 quarters. Foul trouble and exhaustion, in my opinion were the two main factors that prevented them from being in the game all the way to the end. WOS has always had a number of athletes but has never put much emphasis on basketball. In spite of that, the coach/staff has taken control and taught these kids what needs to be done and my guess/bet is that this ongoing process will do nothing but get better. After watching the two underlevel games and observing the approach they are using at all levels, I believe the basketball future at WOS is very bright.
