1. it's been awhile since i've coached select ball but from what i remember there is no pitch count for a weekend tournament.  the kid has so many innings in the weekend.  it's up to the coaches to watch pitch counts.  i have also seen several "paid" coaches call lots of curveballs. that is not restricted to daddyball i can assure you.
2. What will hurt HF this yr is pitching.  If they have pitching they will contend.
3. Thanks for thinking of us.  I enjoyed my 5yrs in the US Army.  2 in Germany and 2 at Ft. Polk during Panama and Desert Storm.
4. That's a great idea.  Hard to believe it's been a year.  To add something else the Port Arthur Community Credit Union is collecting donations for Camo Christmas.  Help the soldiers currently deployed.  You do not have to be a member to donate or stop by.  This is in cooperation with the American Legion Post and will be collecting until Wednesday Nov. 10th.
5. I do have to agree with that part also.  I know growing up we were at the baseball park during the summer and the football fields during the winter.
6. The kids still in the system have bought in.  Too many kids in the hallway that are "dedicated" to other sports.  Take baseball for instance, there is only one kid playing right now that isn't playing football.  Where are the other "dedicated" players.
7. Why would you dedicate to "your sport".  How about dedicating yourself to your school and your community.  How many kids that "dedicated" themselves to a sport actually make it.  Kids should enjoy the whole high school experience, but these days they are not.  I can tell you from experience that Friday nites are fun, but there is nothing that can beat a Friday nite during the playoffs.  Kudos to the Trevin Sonnier's and Quentin Evans's and the likes who do what they can to support their respective schools and communities.
8.
also SFA vs Cameron Yoe we down in penetrations and we were faced with a 4th and long and marler wanted to punt, but Greg Green our d-coordinator said otherwise and we went 4 it and got it, and then it was classic kenny ford going in from 21 yards out to win the game
if you would have had a better defense maybe you would have faired better ..lol ;).
9. What good does it do if the taller receivers don't catch as well.  Get the ball to different people and the game opens up for everyone else.
10. I'll take McZeal over Murchison anyday.  Head to head in '83 Murchison lost to McZeal and SFA 14-0.
11.
HF play bigger receivers and the score may be closer  ;)
Spread the ball around and the score could be different.  The other receivers they have are good and usually are open.  Throw to one person and anyone is smart enough to key on that person.  So don't knock the boys ..they haven't done anything wrong.
12. Nothing wrong with the receivers they have. The ball was moved down the field by spreading the ball around to other receivers (not one) and scored ...  Last time I checked football was a team sport.
Suggestion to HF coaches: Why don't you guys try  (experiment?) with bigger receivers? It sure would help your quarterbacks with a larger target.
13. What an unbelievable week.  May God bless he Barbay family and the Newton community.
14. I too was on the field with my son after his ballgame when hearing of this news.  There is nothing I can say because I can not even imagine the feeling.  May God bless his family and the WOS community.  Prayers are with you from HF.
15. SFA vs EC '82 can't remember how much time left but Tony Evans kicks  44 yd fg game ends 3-0.
16.
sfa vs crockett 2nd round early 4th, coach marler please take me out tha game we up 28-0, i get hurt n out da rest of tha playoffs, and sfa vs cuero, wouldve been a different game if i was healthy i promise you
was you any good?  lol.  so i don't remember because you didn't play with us.  still love ya though griggs. and tell sfa85 he was  "ok". :D oh and by the way one of the best running backs in the area is still Brian McZeal.
17. I was there.  Minaldi was scoring on the play so the error did not factor in the scoring.  The error only factored in the runner going from second to third being he stopped at second then advanced.  No error factoring in the run scoring means run was earned.
18. In response to critters statement of how HF would score was right it was not.  The run scored was an earned run.  Single by Minaldi, single by Miguez and single by Markum.  Miguez moved to third on an E8, but the error did not play in the scoring of the run.  That makes it an earned run.
19.
Does this mean there is no way Kirbyville can win the tournament now?
No. They can still win the Tournament they just can't lose another game.
20. HF won 6-4 Great game. Freshman Duplant pitched a complete game for HJ Chapman started, Levingston got the win for HF and Soph. Miguez got the winning RBI for HF
