Saw on Facebook 20-13, I'm guessing it's WB 20.

West Brook plays Alvin @ Alvin Thursday April 28.

21-6a is 1. Deer Park, 2. La Porte, 3. West Brook, and North Shore and Baytown Sterling will play for 4th. West Brook will play the winner of Alvin and Dawson game.

West Brook won 13-0. I have to give a shout out to the Lady Titans, they caught just about every pop up hit to the infield and outfield. They also caught us in a double play! They never gave up which was great to see!

Bruins lost by run rule 12-0

West Brook won 12-5.

West Brook won 11-10

We are playing them tomorrow at 2 in Channelview.

Do you have a time frame when you will do girls tryouts?

For us, we sit down with the girls and ask them if they want to make the commitment.  I have explained to them that while I love the sport, it is not about me, it is about what they want to do.  I try to give them an out without them feeling guilty or as if they have disappointed us.  We also set a limit on the amount of sports they can play.  IMO if they were playing softball, then volleyball, basketball, soccer, track, and then cheerleading, it seems they would experience sports burn out.  As far as  parent intensity, we experienced volleyball and track for the first time this year and I was surprised at the intensity of the parents in these sports and this was just middle school stuff, not select.  So I can imagine what other select sports must be like.  It made me feel better about how I get at the softball tourneys.  I think all sports are intense and parents are going to react. As far as college, the girls know they are going to college regardless if they get a softball scholarship.  We are looking academic first, then sports.  Would I love for a full ride to a D1 school, absolutely, but I have had to let that go and allow them to choose where they would like to go.  I think we get caught up in all the college scholarsip intensity and forget that not everyone is going to receive a sports scholarship.  And lastly, we have just gotten creative about how the girls can have somewhat of a normal life and still play a select sport.

Thanks for answering that Dottie.  Had no idea having that done was illegal.  We were talking about the 10u team that had 3 illegal bats picked up at USFA Nationals in Panama and when it was brought up about having a bat rolled, I was surprised.  As I said, when we purchased the bat, the company said that having it rolled would help it break in quicker, but never said that it would make it illegal.  Although, she did use that bat in Panama when we were in 10u and nothing was ever said.
