I was addressing your fuzzy logic and then the fact that you're also a teacher made that issue even bigger. Get it yet? You can always shut me up (i.e. bullying) but you'd be better off addessing THE ISSUE than trying to make this personal. Its another example of you using "the straw man argument" (i.e. create something I didn't say, then addressing that rather than what I really said and meant).

 3.
Guys, I am still collecting my thoughts on the game while taking in the rest of the tourney this week. When I get time, I will post stats and a game summary. Right now, I will enjoy the rest of the tourney. I will say this though, it's the consensus of the vast majority of the folks that watched this game( Silsbee fans, Madison fans, other coaches, UIL officials, media, and just the regular fan) that this game was the state championship game. After watching the Estecado and Stafford game, it was pretty evident to everyone there, who the top two teams were, Madison and Silsbee. I even had several of the Frank Erwin Center staff stop me and say that the Silsbee/Madison game should have been the state title game. Tough luck.
Silsbee fans were polled? Did you poll the Estacado fans too?

I could be wrong.
so if i tell you i'm going to come rob your house, it's cool, as long as i tell you first, right?
Note to self: never take logic lessons from bullet.
 6.
coach needs to calm his tigers down.  looks like they are trying to hard, leading to TO's and fouls.  Get it together.
Madison might have something to do with that
 7.
The last 3 minutes of the game I watched Bellaire Coach make three of the worse basketball calls I have ever seen. First bad call was going into stall ball when your team had gained the momentum and a little rhythm.  They finally had Bush winded and making mistakes, then he stalled and allowed them to rest.  And the fact that he stalled ball with the game tied is foolish and only allowed his team to get one shot... Stall when you are ahead... Second with about thirty seconds left he call a timeout when one of his players was going in for a lay-up because he wanted to last shot! WOW!!! The 6'10" soph had the entire Bellaire team scared to go into the lane the entire game.  Guys were throwing the ball too high, short handing shots, and getting them blocked when they went to the paint.  The first open lay-up in the second half with the big guy out of the lane and he called a TO without a lead! I told Walt after that I bet they get a jump shot or a contested lay-up that they wont make!! And that is exactly what happenned! Third, he went man on a under-the-basket out of bounds play with 1 second left on the clock!!!  EVERYBODY knows that he should have been in a zone!! And the gave up a last second shot and lost! That may have been the worse last three minutes of game calling I have ever seen!
You left out the biggest mistake at the end of all: Kene on the bench while #5 stayed on the court. Note that #5 was the closest player to the scorer, but Kene is 6" or 7" taller and a TON wider....and a great leaper.
 8. Silsbee's biggest asset: Madison possibly being oveconfident Madison's biggest asset: experience in the Drum at State
 9. 5a game was a non-upset upset. Sorry Bluedove. Truth. Give a far superior coach enough talent to compete somewhat and he'll win most times. Without Bellaire's help from the refs, woulda been a 10-12pt game
 10.
Classy post...lamarque was legit as they come.
Yes, La Marque is definitely a very very good team. and it wasn't close. Lancaster is better, but they would require a perfect game by their 3 studs, help from the refs defeating the press, and slow down so those 2 bigs can beat up Yates in the paint. The third stud is a guard (although I think the 3rd stud is a sg rather than a true pg) which is helpful, but this poor kid's tongue will be hanging on the ground mid-4th qtr. Yates, but not in a romp. Maybe even under 100 pts.

Bellaire got the calls or rather the no-calls the whole game, and still lost. Bush fans got really rowdy on some of the worst ones. Bellaire outcoached....again (yawn). One D1 recruit didn't even start. #5 started instead. Humongous mistake.  And when that D1 came off the bench, they used the wrong matchup. Another big mistake. Sebastian #33 allows the other team to control tempo. Very undisciplined (but athletic & talented) player. This is a coaching issue. Bellaire wins when they have a huge talent advantage, when they merely have a big talent advantage, that cannot overcome coaching disadvantage (like Lancaster game). Bush controlled tempo. McClellan NEVER gets enough touches when they play a well-coached team. Tobi either. They almost never run a two-man game with McClellan-Tobi. Huge coaching issue ALL SEASON LONG. There is a reason they underperform.
So we can assume that you don't like the Bellaire coach. ;)
I like him just fine. Coach Glove is a nice guy. I was commenting on his coaching ability for the last decade or so with recent examples. In fact, some of this I mentioned on a different thread here just week or two ago. Cannot remember if I outright picked Bush to beat them or not, but actually woulda been surprised if Bellaire had won.

 13. Yates does it again. The century mark 101-72  almost over
 14. 92-66 under 2 minutes. Yates OWNS the 4th qtr with their depth
 15. so are you Greg Wise bashers going to crticize the UIL Executive Director for doing the SAME THING? I didn't think so.
5A Boys (07-08) - Fort Bend Dulles made it all the way to the State Championship that year losing to Willie Warren led North Crowley.
Dulles was district champ or co-champ that year
 17. GCM not in top 10? hmmmmm.....how reliable is this thing?
 18. Barbers Hill can't break into the top 10? Must be a real down year for them.
 19. somebody on a thread around here "wondered how Friendswood would fare" against Yates cuz "they'd seen Friendswood paly this summer," or something to that effect; implying that they thought Friendswood would give Yates a good game without actually saying it outright. Well, whadaya think NOW?  If you haven 't seen Yates play, GO! they are a sight to behold. rare team/coach/system, once a decade, if that.
 20. I recommend to anyone who can, go see Yates this season. The way they rotate thru 6, 7, 8, more?? disguised variations of their press is IMPRESSIVE. And you'll see the best athletes on one team in Texas this year. They go 15 deep with not much drop off. They OWN the fourth qtr. If you feel sorry for their opponents from seeing only the scores, you'll really feel sorry for the completely spent, almost-tongue-hanging-out-opposing-pg by the end of the game. Rare team. Go see them. Possible natl champ and when you nostalgia-types start the threads in 10 yrs of "Who's the best team in Texas ever?" this Yates team will be in the discussion. Be able to say you saw them play.
 21.
ozen beat magnolia earlier this year by eight point at there gym the bulldog tournament. ozen didnt have d.frank playing at that time. i am a proud ozen fan but i will say it nederland should beat them by at least 15 pts. they have some size but for the most parts they shoot alot of three very close to a team yall beat twice this year
yep
 22. if the regional matchup ends up Bellaire vs Kingwood -- and Kingwood has a VERY easy bracket until Bush in the semis -- then Kwd will only win based on the VAST diference in coaching and Kwd WILL "deny" Sheldon McClelland. He is the center of their offense. All the others (except Tobi, when he's "on") feed off of Sheldon. Sheldon is an overall offensive STUD. One of the best I've seen in a while. Kwd just so happens to have a wing who can match Sheldon in height, something Sheldon doesn't see much. Kwd will make those other guys score OUTSIDE the paint, which they don't do much. And Bellaire relies too much on Tobi and the others overall athleticism/height advantages rather than fundamentally blocking out on the defensive boards. Of course, Bush will likely knock off Kwd. And Bellaire could stumble against either Elkins (very good defenders) and maybe LaPorte (if their 3 studs get in a groove) Plus the normal caveat: in a one-game format anybody can.......
