Tim Riggins got a reaction from Boneyard Boys in Vidor 10 Santa Fe 0/FINAL
Whew, excellent defensive effort! Game a lot closer than I thought it would be. Thanks Boneyard for your usual excellent commentary.

Glad to get out of there and back home with a W. Good teams find a way to win ugly.

I posted I thought it’d be closer than everyone thought. Their DC knows how to stop this offense. Dead.

The team you're thinking of is the 2011 team, not the 2012 version. It was the 2011 team that went three deep in the playoffs, losing to Angleton. The 2012 team ran into a strong Summer Creek squad and lost in the first round. IMO that 2011 team was the best since the '64 12-0-1 semifinalist team.

Thanks for the excellent play by play Boneyard Boys, greatly appreciated.

Tim Riggins got a reaction from Hagar in LCM vs Vidor - Who Ya Got
1999-2000 Eddie Hatch was the defensive coordinator you're thinking of.

Missed conversions in a close game are killers.

Vidor took the lead with 2 min left 32-27 but lost on the last play of the game, short touchdown pass 33-32 final. Tough way to lose but we made way too many mistakes to deserve the win. Lots of big plays from Montgomery, mainly WR85. First downs were probably 25-10 in Vidors favor but we didn’t finish a couple of drives. Also missed an extra point and a couple of 2 point conversions. But we got out of there without any major injuries so it’s on to the bye week and then two games we should have a good chance to win before district play begins.

Sounds like last year all over. Got to learn how to win the close ones. Losses like this will take the heart out of them.
C’mon Pirates, learn from it and show the results next game.

Great game West Brook. You left it all on the field. You made SETX proud. I don't know any other way to put this but sometimes it just wasn't your day. You played good enough to win and it just didn't happen. Proud of the Bruins, heck of a game. JMO

West Brook players and fans. 19 years ago I watched my Indians lose a somewhat close game in the Astrodome. I understand how you guys must feel. Let me say this to you..... West brook showed the state that they are capable of standing toe to toe with the best in the state. You guys should be as proud as a peacock of these boys, coaches, and the school. They have done something remarkable and unthinkable just a few weeks ago. I am very proud to have had your school, students, coaches, and city represent our area of Texas. thank you for the great run and for the opportunity to watch some very special football out of Beaumont. Maybe the old Beaumont being the football capital is back for a nice run of long playoff runs. Thank you.

La Vega has always beaten Liberty Hill when they were in the same district. Why should a state championship make any difference? To me, it’s not difficult to prepare for a team you have always dominated.

Tim Riggins got a reaction from ATTITUDE IS EVERYTHING in Friday State Championship Games
Could be that La Vega is familiar with defending the Slot T while Carthage was not. LH and LV were in same district for a while.

Most scores are lower than I would’ve thot. MCM 7-7. Santa Fe 12-7 over The Hill. Cold weather is the best defense I’ve seen this year (other than Newton’s lol).

Dahlenberg with a 55 yard sprint to the end zone it’s 14-7 Vidor

Probably a high scoring close game, like last week. (Field condition could be a limiting factor though).
