Just give Jasper respect and move on.  Bringing up race, downplaying Jasper's win by saying their a one trick poney or a one man show, and downplay a coach's classiness...  Geez, just take the loss.  You're defense got torn to shreds make adjustments, and get ready for district next week.  Believe me, you should get the D together because you don't want a repeat of this game to happen next week...

I say vidor wins, but I don’t think Santa Fe is a cake walk, aggressive team that plays hard, the qb will sling it,vidor db’s may struggle with that, but also Santa Fe will struggle with vidors style of offense.just think it could be closer than most think!!

Prior to the season I stated this District will have at least 1 team sitting home that would have easily made the playoffs in another District.  So far, the play has confirmed that.

If Vidor doesn't make the playoffs it will end up being one of the best teams in the state to only play 10 games. Our district is a buzzsaw.

Watching this hudl video reminds me of something that I witness each year when we play Vidor their kids are as classy as they come. The hit on number 12 was hard and the kid from Vidor reaches down to make sure he is ok and tries to help him up. You see this throughout the games I have watched with Vidor. Great coaches make great young men.

There were penalties called and missed both ways. Accept the fact that it was a hard fought well played game by two teams. It came down to who had the ball last and that happened to be the Indians. Good game Pirates and good luck going forward.

There are no guaranteed wins with the  teams remaining on  Vidor's schedule .. BH gave Nederland all they could handle before falling to the still undefeated Bulldogs,  Dayton gave Crosby a good game early, Santa Fe is capable and Lee is much improved from previous years.  Hate to be in the position of having to win out to get in, but it is what it is.

Yeah I kept up with y'all's game and thought BH had a good chance to pull out the win, but you can't count Nederland out in a close game at the end.

I can see the Historical Commission's landmark now.
"Constructed when Anglo settlers first colonized the area under Mexican land grants in the late 1820s, Bulldog Stadium has been the continuous home of the Nederland High School football team since before the high school even existed. It is one of the only structures in the state to have survived the 'Runaway Scrape,' the scorched earth policy instituted by Sam Houston during his retreat from Mexican President-General Antonio Lopez de Santa Ana's forces prior to the Battle of San Jacinto in 1836. When asked whether the stadium should be burned, then-General Houston is rumored to have responded, 'It's not worth the lighter fluid.'
"Dick Dowling and his men are said to have used the field to practice drills before fighting the Battle of Sabine Pass in 1863; in fact, local legend holds that Nederland's dogmatic dedication to military style marching bands stems from the Confederate colonel's wartime routines, and that the uniforms worn by Nederland's marching band to this day are the same ones donated by Dowling's men in 1865 because they were of no further use after the Confederacy surrendered. Patillo Higgins is said to have hosted games on the field for his wildcatters during company recreational events around the time the Spindletop geyser began producing oil in 1901.
"When the stadium began showing its extreme age in the mid-1930s, United States President Franklin D. Roosevelt offered to replace it through the Works Progress Administration. Nederland ISD turned the offer down, however, due largely to opposition efforts headed by the SETXSports poster formerly known as 'smitty,' who charged that the WPA was a 'socialist program' that would inevitably lead to higher taxes, and that President Roosevelt was a 'communist' who would be a better fit to lead 'Stalinist Russia' than America. smitty was later instrumental in the election of Joe McCarthy.
"In 1984, the stadium hosted Nederland's first win over the arch-rival Port Neches-Groves Indians since 1965. Local legend and substantial eyewitness testimony suggest that Nederland ISD's groundskeepers wet the field before the game to slow the Indian ground game, eventually culminating in a 13-7 win. Grown men in the Nederland stands are said to have briefly ceased their incessant barking to openly weep as time expired, as none of the students then involved in the game were old enough to remember the last time Nederland had beaten PN-G. In honoring the win, considered legendary in Nederland but mostly ignored by the rest of Southeast Texas, the field has been kept continuously - and suspiciously - muddy for more than three decades.
"During early 2000s renovations, a local Nederland family donated their mid-1990s 'big box' TV for use as a jumbotron. Nederland ISD gladly accepted the hand-me-down, and the television sits atop brick pillars today, providing low definition instant replays for those in the stands not too annoyed by the stadium's terrible sound system to watch. (2018)"

Like Tim listed... Luker was a pure linebacker with the stats and accolades to back it up. I'd take him on my team any day.
Rick was fast...but he had a good mind for football too. Excellent returner, and I liked him even more on defense. He had a lot of INT's. it's a shame Vidor experimented with a west coast offense for 1 year when he became QB..he would have done some damage if they remained an Option team.  Definitely didn't play to his strengths on that choice.

You beat me to it.  All three good choices. Doubt you’ll ever see another player win the Willie Ray Smith award for both offense and defense like Montana did.

There have been a few comments from Crosby about Vidors field, we will make sure to get turf for y’all. We wouldn’t want you to get your pretty white uniforms dirty playing football. We really are that nice and accommodating.
