I think you're right or else he probably would have been more receptive to Julie's statement of silence.  The guy certainly doesn't appear to be sharpest knife in the drawer.

Just by the nature of the question, this is a very subjective and opinion oriented thread.  With the notable exception of the Smith brothers and Gaspard, most all the names that I recognize were offensive skill position players.

Haven't heard if she'll be back or not, we can always hope though.  Smash has got a good yards per carry ratio going, almost 5 yards a touch.

I'm never going huntin' with Saracen again!  Guy shoots at anything that moves. ;)

1964 3A State Semifinals:  Vidor vs San Marcos Rattlers, tie game 21-21, late in the 4th quarter, Pirates miss a field goal on 4th down from the 21 1/2 instead of trying to advance the ball inside the 20. Rattlers advance to state championship game on penetrations, 5-4.  Vidor led substantially in the next 2 tie breakers, first downs and total yards.  Still don't think the coaches realized that making that yard and a half would have won the game. :(

Good point on grad. losses/returning lettermen.  It looks like a rebuilding year for the Pirates coming up, but in 2011 they could again be a playoff contender.

Yeah, and super booster McCoy is even more unlikeable.  Mike Leach cameo appearance was pretty neat, obviously made before he got canned at TT, but he'd better try to find a coaching job somewhere, don't think acting is his strong point.
And what about the kid forced to transfer from the Panthers to East?  Is his attitude too good to be true or what? 

I heard that since Vidor lost it's entire line and backfield, that the Pirates are just going to play a JV schedule this year.   Could this also be true?    :D

that's because they are not expected to be playoff teams this year.  But IMO May is a little early to count a team out.

Hot Shot Panther QB 1 has turned into a real ass, wish they would have let Saracen, (aka Pizza Man), finish kicking his butt at the party.

Good season premier, you gotta feel for the poor Lions and Coach Taylor though, 45-0 at the half!  A lot different from Panther football.

I don't see LCM anything like Vidor.  Vidor runs, and has for some time now, an outdated strictly ground-oriented offense.  And outside of the offensive line, they didn't really have any stand-outs.

Now take LCM.  In their first year in a pass-happy spread offense, they showed remarkable improvement.  They are significantly faster than Vidor (going to regionals in 4x1 and 4x2) and have a stud quarterback and stud receiver.  Probably b/c having to practice against this offense, the pass defense was definately above average last year, and should be significantly better this year.  And look for the problems at linebacker to be fixed.

While Vidor returned more starters, LCM returns more game-changers and has enough speed to compete in the 21st game.

Last year was only 4 home games as well.  Who are they playing with only 450 students?
Kirbyville I thought moved up to 3A this year?  I know BC is 3A and I believe Texas High is 5A although it may be 4A.

Hmmm....playing Vidor at home again this year.  Don't teams usually alternate home games year to year?

Should have remembered Jeep Colburn from the '60's, and of course R.C. Slocum.  Didn't know, ( or forgot), that Colvin played for the Tigers.

An SFA defeat would be worse IMHO.  Ragin' Cajuns have played a tougher schedule and probably has a bit more cred on the national scene than SFA.

Let's see....  Harold Haunschild, Vincent Rao, Patrick Gibbs, David Peet, Mark Oldham, Roy Alba,and  George Toal are all I can come up with.

Better enjoy the cold weather and (snow?) while we can, all too soon everybody will be griping about how hot it is. :D
