C'mon bronco1...you're embarrasing the bronco faithful here. It's inconsistEnt and yes he is inconsistent. He overthrew AJ on the first play of the CE King game...missed three wide open receivers against Galena Park including one-hopping at 12 yard in-route. His downfield throws are very inconsistent and he bolsters the completion percentage with a lot of short passes. As a passer, Gregory Charles was a better quarterback but he can't run like Cody can...well few can run like Cody can. He's a high school quarterback. He's got 2 years of playing QB under his belt, so comparing him to Gilbert and Karam like someone did earlier is not a good comparison as both have been playing QB for at least 6 years and coached for longer than that. He missed 3 open receivers??... you'll see that with almost any QB you watch at any level. Also, Cody makes throws that typical high school QB's cannot make (i.e. 20 yd out) and that includes Greg (who did a great job btw). Our receivers also drop some of those downfield and short routes as well which drop his completion % (12 drops vs. Fwood), so it kinda evens out. I think we expect him to play like the players on sat. and sun. because he is so highly recruited. Just give him some time. It's undeniable that he is much improved as a runner AND a passer since the beginning of the year.

No... you're post wasn't "a little good natured smack talk'... it was combative and a generalization. Feel free to go back and read my posts... I think most the posters on this site would agree that I show class with my posts. My post wasn't meant to be good natured smack talk. I was talking about "most" of what people post on the boards being good natured smack. Comprehension just isn't your thing huh? I am stating "MY OPINION" that MOST (not all) of the Dayton posters here lately have a big ol' chip on their shoulder for some reason when it comes to Lumberton. It's ridiculous really. I think the ultimate Karma would be for Dayton to actually get Lumberton first round, and Lumberton to put a whoopin on ya'll. TICK TOCK TICK TOCK. The info has to be delivered in a clear manner to be comprehended. It is MY OPINION that you have made a generalization about all Dayton posters because of the posts of a few crazed fans. classy first post!!! This is a board for opinions and as long as that is the case, people (from all schools) will continue to post theirs. If you don't like to read things that Dayton posters write... then don't. Also, don't lump all Dayton fans into one category. If the board gets your BP up this much I would advise not reading or posting anymore. The vast majority of the smack talk from EVERYONE is all in fun ... that is why people do meet and greets at the games. Relax. GEEZ!

Some L-Town folks could take a few notes. Enough about the announcers!!!! You know your going to an away game, I would not expect anything different when we go play on the road. not in high school. but since you told me it was enough... : My appologies... my intentions were not to tell you what to say or do. It was simply a generalization that people complain about the announcers too much. I expect when we go play at someone elses stadium, for their announcers to be biased towards their team. Don't apologize... just messing with ya. i know you weren't telling me what to do, etc. However there are guidelines outlined by the UIL including but not limited to the announcer producing a friendly atmosphere. I feel this includes being unbiased at certain junctures.

You can't judge how well a team is playing 9 weeks later rather it's Friendswood or Dayton. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but comparing week 1 to week 10 is silly. You guys won... congrats. Now go show everyone how good you are in the playoffs.

that is what dayton had going on last year. it's just that in 4A you're able to send guys both ways and not get in so much trouble. I wasn't taking anything away from the staff at LEE. it seems Olin may be trying to build around D rather than the great O that Lee has always had. It will come together... Olin is a GREAT offensive coach IMO.

do or die time for NF.... I feel they've underachieved this year.

Big teams with power run games are the only teams I've seen give Dayton's defense much trouble. I'm still leery since Dayton's defense lost 5 starters before the season to off-field stupid decisions. Still I would expect Dayton to put up about 34-40 and see if King can top it. Dayton has been getting better and better against the run. The passing teams give us bigger fits in my opinion. I think Dayton makes a defensive statement in this game. I don't see a shootout.

that matchup would be a good one.

it'll be a tough row to hoe for L-town w/out beard... I think the overwhelming amount of running teams in DII benefits dayton's defensive style. Hopefully we keep progressing and stay healthy.
