Scales most certainly deserved O MVP. Can score anywhere on the court. And from not making playoffs to where they landed Joubert did an awesome job. Can’t wait till next season

Hitchcock has 4 seniors. 2 start. But also 3 junior starters returning. Gifted athletes , big and quick. congrats Kountze on getting to the region 3 final. Put in work for next season.

Our first half was sloppy. The other move in came from Warren, but used to live in Kountze and moved back. He is a Senior coming off the bench. Warren and Lowe each had quiet 14 point games. Tarkington was better than I thought in the first half. Threes were not falling. Seem young. So should be even better next year.

The goal of almost every team Ever, is to limit the touches of the opponents best shooter. Defense stepped up after going down 0-10. All teams grab shirts , shorts what ever they can. They frustrate the player with the ball. Everyone thinks Scales is a phenomenal athlete. But frustrating him is the goal. Just like teams try to limit Sells. Refs call how they call, Joubert preaches to his players , play the game and let him worry about the Ref. An 18-2 run is Not the refs. When you have been guarded the entire game , denied the ball and having to run around the gym all night , you also get tired. Makes you miss shots later. Legs are dead in the 4th. Good luck in the playoffs and get ready for more of the same defense . Hitchcock was there watching both teams. Whitmire has done a good job and will be ready.

Kountze felt that way in game 2 when Sells fouled out. Turnovers Kountze 10 Orangefield 17 Fouls Kountze 14 Orangefield 13 Fouls were about even. And refs were not bad but did miss calls on both sides. It came down to holding Scales to 7 points.

Really nice kid. Sells was motivated for sure. Kountze defended much better and drove to the basket more. Kountze’s bench came up big as well. Good game to lead to playoffs for both teams.

Humble pie works both ways. You know the players at several schools. Kountze has some very humble players and coaches. The coaches also coach more than basketball. If you know Joubert he is a very self less man, humble and highly regarded. He coaches the game win or lose and move to the next one. The last few years when Kountze was getting bullied on the court no one was crying about people running up the score on them. They took those whoppings and kept playing Kountze isn’t worried about how many points are scored or who is the leading scorer . Orangefield played great last night and much better than the game at Kountze. The first quarter was awesome. But Kountze rallied and fell short by 5. Who knows if the PG hadn’t of fouled out with about 3mins left and Kountze made free throws , what would have happened. Ghost and Wrinkle played amazing. The old heads from Kountze get on here and talk smack. And people do get in their feelings. Don’t put that on the coaches or kids. You can ask Whitmire about Joubert and how he runs the team.

Kountze seems to shoot the ball better at away games. Defense has turned up and the big men are playing better. Last night 7 players in double digits, keep sharing the ball Lions. Should be a good game going into playoffs for both teams.
