Im no expert.... hold the comments. lol. I just cant see Barnes not being on the floor for the start and finish of ANY game this year. Young man grew big time last year and with the advent of a couple of drive, stop and shoot point guard additions this year, his EVERREADY rebounding/put back skills are a must. Agreed, for KB to play the majority minutes he will have to improve even more, but man I like his aggressive style. It should pay big dividends with L' McCain running the point, Mike J on the wings creating havoc with his style and hopefully the "shooters" (Grubbs, Harris and Adams) keeping people out the paint. Again, great spot as a coach but tough decisions with Thomas, Mackey and Barnes sharing playing time. Cant wait for the show.

Any update on scrimmage against Ozen Saturday? Time / Place?

Know several girls on this squad and plan on watching them play for the first time tonight? What should I expect in this game?

Too bad. Was really looking forward to a fully manned Silsbee vs Central game (Dec 1). Would not be surprised if there are PLENTY of scouts there to watch this matchup. It might still happen but it would mean Silsbee's football playoff run has ended. Double edged sword. Maybe they can reschedule this one game for a couple weeks....

AAW can correct me, but it goes without saying that most of, if not (90%) of their rebounds came from those still playing football. (D. Thomas, K. Barnes, K. Mackey)

Caldwell is a very solid team. I think Silsbee caught them overconfident in first game. They refocused and the Hornets pretty much played mistake free after that. Also wasn't able to match up well with their big hitter, not much effective blocking to make them change tactics. Recipe for defeat against a tough team in a very good district. Proud of them. Silsbee never had a dominant player, just several good pieces that fit together but couldn't put it all together against Caldwell. Probably was their best run until the freshman class matures in 2018. 2017 will be a tough year for Lady Tigers, losing two good Senior pieces in Setter and OH.

Lady Rebs responded well after that initial run by Silsbee. Just a few observations: Defended Tips well, almost always got a good block up and after they settled in back row played well. Nice job ladies, I see a deep run.

Just heard that this game has been moved to Orangefield on Friday @ 4:30. Source is a parent of a player so maybe this can be confirmed by another party as well. Sorry for the confusion.

Let's hope. Nothing worse than slacking off right before playoff season.

Kingwood Park over Silsbee (3-0) Wasn't there, but from what I was told it wasn't pretty. Lady Tigers apparently left their volleyball game at home. Hope this is a wake up call....all games are important. Every game is a chance to learn from your mistakes and improve. Clean it up ladies and get ready for the playoff run...no freebies will be given by your opponents.
