Nail on the head, Soulja. Burn Barrels were prevalent in almost every yard outside the city limits and even in them!! From my time in Silsbee. Well I guess I'm at fault then as well... I just know it is a nickname for Silsbee that is embraced by the "younger" Silsbee generations. It was meant, and always will be, to be a rallying cry for support from their friends and whomever might feel the same way. Maybe, just maybe, it can become something good. I meant no disrespect or am I condoning any "activity", feel free to ask my daughter on the subject. JMO

Not condoning any actions that took place but, if there was EVER a reason to put aside ANY team distractions or reasons other than a 'ship, it happened Friday. Always was a rule when it came to family, you can be hard with family, but be damn sure NOBODY else was gonna mess with my family. The hype is out there and all teams will be stepping up to make their own statement. Let's go young men. Be healthy Mike J , know the Smoke is gonna Represent.

I believe I have spoken of this particular lineup to start, or close to it (Maze). It starts fast and if they are on it is a wrap. Second one is no slouch though,

When this team finds their center it will be something to see. This was how it should be when they are on point. Dangerously good and almost impossible to stop when hitting beyond the arc.

Surely Jasper is not trying to run with them?

More interested in if they light up the scoreboard like a video game. Time to grow up and blow the doors of this season. Forget the hype.... Forget the pressure... Trust in each other and do it big. It's time young men. Handle up. Time to represent who you are, not what everyone wants.

Grades are the least of the worries, at least on the surface of it all. IMO If nobody else has noticed, then maybe its just me. The difference in mentality between last year's team and this year's is obvious to me. Haven't seen a team "celebration" or excitement during a game like last year. I wish these young men the best and hope it all works out.

Tuesday is a tell all. My guess is you see very few lineup changes. One set with some fill ins for breaks.

Plenty of time on the court maybe...but I see no rhythm to their game except in spurts. I see plenty of frustration though...it showed up last night. I could be wrong of course but It looked like Sig had enough of it as well. I have faith though.

Depth might turn out to be a savior in this case.

Five players who have shown me the way to play...on the court because I don't see and hear all. 1) T. Grubbs (Senior) 2) R. Maze (Senior) 3) D. Thomas (Senior) 4) J. Adams (Freshman) 5) D. McCain (Freshman) am I alone on this? Opinions? Nothing against those not mentioned with good attitudes just as a lineup option. Also, heard some rumors on grades. This gonna effect Silsbee, again?

4 Techs between the teams. Nothing extravagant from the stands but refs took a stance early and finished the same way. Lots of talent on the floor, too much talent to waste. Season does not feel right to me so far. Hope I am wrong here.

Really good year (2015/16) for Silsbee Athletics so far. If the Girls BB team continues is could be one for the books. Softball and Baseball are promising as well.

Got notice that Four freshman will be on Varsity this year for the Smoke. 3 can pitch apparently. What a coach wouldn't do for pitching. Lol.
