1. From what I've seen, Jones has elusiveness, speed, and heart. However he hasn't showed up in big games the past two seasons that I've watched. Look forward to seeing if he can come through as a game changing player next season rather than just a stat man.
2.
100% 12 for 12, 3 touchdowns 0 interceptions, 262 yards.
Impressive. thanks man
3. Does anyone have stats on Fitzwater for this one? particularly comp. %
4. O line coach..."got d*mn Taylor, if your protection is what the future army has to offer then this country is shot to sh*t"
5. any more details on this game, estimate yards and such?
6. I don't think it'll happen AFC. Lack of pitching will more than likely be the reason. Hopefully some of the young guns (or lack there of) step up.
7.
Smith is the best HS RB I've ever seen, and I'm not young. Even rusty, he adds a lot into the equation.
I personally have not seen him play but lets be real, Jaquizz Rogers, Sam McGuffie, Cedric Benson???
8.
Jones wouldn't start at WR for Huffman. Edwards wouldn't start for Coldspring at rb. I'll guarantee their coaches would stand by that.
Insane. Jones might not start but only bc of experience in Huffman, But EDWARDS would definitely start anywhere in the district. ANYWHERE, he has better vision than the kid from CS just not as good as an O-line or a heavy run offense
9. I agree despite what I said. Both of their last two opponents have too much team speed for Liberty, and an excellent coach out there in WO-S.
10. Good point Swag, that's wat i was saying earlier in this post you can just be most valuable at one facet of the game it has to be all around at the high school level especially bc a lot of players play both ways. If Edwards is able to run effectively against coldspring and be a run stopper on defense like he did against other teams in district (not necessarily win the game) then he most definitely is more than deserving of this award.
11. Posts like this are like trying to answer when will pigs fly? Each week a team has to bring their A game and if they come with anything sub par then it will be a dog fight no matter how much of an underdog they face. The old saying "that's why they play the game" could never be more true. Plenty potential though.............R.I.P. R.G!
12. Ur right too. Without edwards liberty would be right along with the bottom teams of this district i believe though. Like i said he's carried the team on his back in district pretty much. Tough Question to answer,,,when it comes down to statistics though, i believe Deberry gets it as mentioned before. All outstanding players definitely
13. I can make a case for Deberry with 30 + TD's. But not cummings because all coldspring does is run the ball. Their running back(s) don't have to share the load with a passing game for the most part. Edwards from liberty has to share the ball with an upcoming star passing quarterback. andddd defense wins championships so to be able to lead your team on both sides says that he had more than just one good game.
14. Darrin Edwards is my pick. The most valuable player has to be able to do it all. Looking at the statistics DeBerry definitely has eye popping #'s as does Cummings, but to lead your team in yards, touchdowns, AND tackles! How can you not vouch for this kid, he carried the team on his back against Cleveland with 327 yds, 3 TD's and zero turnovers. Plus a couple 3rd down stops on defense in the backfield
15. 2003 Liberty vs BH,,,Liberty wins on blocked field goal from about 20 yds out to win a low scoring game.
16. I think a coaches success can be answered by former student/athletes asking themselves "how did coach impact my life when I was faced with adversity"? And also by his players demeanor on the sidelines after a win/loss. (did he teach them to be men regardless of the outcome)
