  1. Seriously! You guys call me out for calling out coaches about doing their jobs and now you want to call out the coaches for nominating kids on the all district teams? Really? Blake Rowe had 996 yards AT FULLBACK (I know where your thinking is at) which means he had to do A LOT of blocking as well. Fullback. Haylon Leckelt was the second leading rusher in district and didn't play but part of the 1st quarter against PNG (1242 yds) So, if you run a spread offense and your QB throws for 1000 yds and he's from mid-county, he should AUTOMATICALLY get it? What about the Lumberton kid Yarborough who had a big year and should have got mention at QB? Hey, in 2011 Montana Quirante led the district in rushing at QB and was all district in linebacker and didn't get the MVP, it was given to Ozen's Jones who DIDN'T EVEN HAVE THE YARDS MQ DID or play on defense! The kid from Baytown Lee had some really good stats on a really crummy team. 16 PNG kids are on that list and 16 Ned kids are on that list...if that ain't biased and parcipation I don't know what is. I didn't count Central because I got pissed (I believe they were 5 - 5, wow). Biased towards Jefferson County and always is. You guys need to check yourself including SoulJa, Stattrax and Ol Gabe. BTW Stattrax, we run the SLOT-T not the wing-T, big difference...google it. SMH, YOU GUYS ARE PATHETIC.

I heard Yarbrough did get honorable mention.

  2. You brought Nederland this stupid conversation about how we always claim improvement and you stated that everyone improves as the season goes on. Ok, agree. Yes, we laid a big egg in GCM, you see it all the time teams don't play to their potential or has a bad game. Not sure what that's has to with anything except using your logic that Crosby has improved no more than anyone else.  Know that the dogs will, play hard next week against new caney and hopefully come out with a win.

  3. Last night was as healthy as Crosby has been in quite some time, might of had something to do with it.  Biggest beneficiary from last night was Central is Williams isn't healthy this week.  Every year it's the same tune out of Nederland about how they improve.

I did not say anything about improving. You said everyone improves equally. I think you prob should concentrate on your cougs and hope they improve to get live up to the expectations.

  4. My opinion of the subject between 21 and 22 5a is that the season record shows that multiple teams in 21-5a can beat the probable district champion in 22-5a which shows the depth of our district. PNG is probably not going to beat Dayton mainly because Dayton is extremely battle tested at this point with games versus Crosby, New Caney, and C.E. King and they played all those teams tough. Lumberton has 0 chance of beating Crosby. and C.E. King is going to beat that random school from Beaumont.

    So 3-0

    and a Toss-up game with Nederland/NC

Just a note for Nederland fans that say you are "much better since week one" of course you are so is Crosby, so is New Caney, So is Dayton that is how High School works the kids get sharper on offense and tougher on Defense. So don't go believing you are the only ones getting better, Crosby with Tre in the backfield is scary. we now have a true 3 headed monster which makes us very dangerous and our defense is making big plays in big games at big times, so good luck this weekend and next but don't spout this "we are better now" line because its so brutally obvious that it need not be said.

not sure who you are referring, that Nederland thinks we are the only ones who improved. It does not take a rocket scientist to know that everyone improves. But the question is, how much and are the players the same? We have a few different starters than we did in all of our non district games. We are very young this year, Nuemann and his staff had auditions in some position and settle on a starting line after our first district game against Vidor.   So, i think we had a lot of room for improvement and are where would should be.

If if all things being equal, improvement and every team is on the same scale, the I would say Crosby won't get past the 2 or 3 round. Week 1 in Nederland they did not look like a top 10 team and really struggled at times, we kept it close through most of the game. so if every is improved and "we are better now", what really changes for Crosby ?

  5. I'm ready to support all of our district teams.nthe last thing I will say about the common opponent thing is, Ltrian is correct when teams are mediocre. But when you compare stats against common opponents you actually have to have first hand knowledge of the game (be at the game or watch video) In high school sports, there are so many factors the box score does not indicate. That's my point. Good luck to all the playoff teams in our districts.

  6. To the person who posted that common opponents and stats reflect how good a team is and is leading indicator of who will win, shows you don't know much. Agree this is a message board for everyone to express there opinion. Now it is Fact, Nuemann is the better coach (response to the poster about his coach), the back field comparison that was made by the poster especially calling out Krautz being second to to the lumberton backs, now it is fact, they were wrong. Score board where it counts. This post is not meant to be derogatory towards any lumberton player. It is a fact not an opinion that the better team won!

We didn’t underestimate them, we just got beat, just physically beat” said Lumber-ton coach Chris Babin. “They blocked better than us, tackled better than us, and executed better.”

    FACT

  7. This is the exact reason I never pull for Lumberton.. People put the blinders on and think all of the sudden they have become relevant... I will say this... Our district is the weakest I have seen in years... I think the playoff teams show that... Congrats to Lumperton on making the playoffs for the 3rd time.  But please do not turn into a MECA... Or Nation for that fact.... Just be you... PNG and Nederlandfans have the right to have a little swag, also know as arrogance.... It's something you earn....... I will not dog the Choo Choo kids because they have done something that's rarely done over that way... Just keep it simple.. It is what it is.... You made the playoffs... Be happy, and don't compare yourself to any other team... Be Lumberton..

agree, but that's how they roll. Want respect, show respect. By the way Raider nation, good luck against Crosby, you will need it.

  8. If Nederland has better coaching and better athletes, wouldn't their results against common opponents be better?  If you throw out Lee and look at the other 5 common district opponents, Lumberton is avg 31 pts to Nederland's 30.  Defensively, Lumberton is allowing an avg of 25 to Nederland's 24.  Looks pretty even to me. Maybe you mean "more" coaches and athletes.  It's hard to compare individual stats because of the drastic differences in styles this season, but if I look at how our QB and RB did against Nederland last year, their #s were pretty impressive.  Yarbro and Rhodes accounted for 6 TDs in the last matchup vs 2014 District Champion - Nederland.

    Stephen Yarbro,  19/31 328 yds    3 TDs  0 INTs

    Tim Rhodes

    18 rushes for 120 yds - 3 TDs

    6 rec. 120 yds - 1 TD

    240 Total yds - 4 TDs

I could pull up #s for Caleb Thomas which were also impressive vs Nederland, but this should at least refute the idea that Nederland has better athletes.  I'll take our backfield over Nederland's.  I'll take our O-Line and Defense over Nederland's.  And I wouldn't trade our coaching staff for Nederland's staff.  In fact, the more I think about it, you are right.  Lumberton is a matchup nightmare for Nederland. But that's why we play the game.  Good luck Nederland.

I'm not going to predict the outcome, but you absolutely don't know football if you are comparing common opponents. There are so many factors goes into each game. No excuses for the  loss at GCM. We did not play well at all. I do not expect to see that this Friday. Some on this board looks at box scores on Saturday and think they know what happen in the game. We do have a proven coaching staff and the Nederland players are hard working which makes a very "team". The best team this Friday night will win, not necessarily the best, just like last week. I know it's been awhile since lumberton had anything worth talking about, but I think you maybe dreaming. Y'all had 2 winning seasons in 15 plus years, so I would be careful about gloating, prove it on the field. About last year, the scoreboard is what counts, But since you mentioned it our offense scored 64 points. By the way, I don't think anyone on this board would not #22 over any running back lumperton has.
