1. They blew that call.. As if we did not have enough issues already.
2. GCM has to be able to at the very least, slow down the running game and stop all the stupid mistakes to stay in a game. The offense had so many mistakes from penalties to drop passes that any sort of drive is killed before it starts. I do know if I have ever seen so many passes dropped in open space. If RB cannot stay in for the entire game it is going to be a long season. The 88 yard TD run was one for the highlight reel. He has so much potential but has not completed a game. This is one of the best runs I have ever seen at the high school level with the spin move and side steps on the way to the end zone and then turns on the jets and outruns everyone. Like to see much more of this. Cramps can be very much prevented and several players had this problem. QB is not scared to run at/over people but this probably why he is hurt and from the way he was carried off the field he may be out a while. He plays like a FB or LB and QB is easy to hurt this way. Team is young and this experience should help them improve each week. I hope they learn to minimize mistakes or some of them may not be playing for long. There is some talent at GCM and I do not want to wait until next year to see what they can do. Not blaming any coaching here as they cannot get on the field for them. Players need to have some heart and go 110% every play or go home. Is stickem legal? LOL! Nice gams Bulldogs!
3.

A good man is a man when he is humble and honest. I appreciate the gumption you have to write this. Sometimes we state our opinions and thoughts, but in a way we didnt mean to be negative. Commend you on your honesty and integrity very much. We all say things without always saying them the way we mean them from time to time.
Oops, then don't look at my comments in the Nederland vs. GCM thread. LOL  ;D
Raideroldtimer, you were not offensive in that thread and I always enjoy reading your comments on here. I agree with everyone here, it is nice to admit one's mistakes.
4. How about Jerry Ball! He was a monster in WB first year and the state title. Maybe to soon..
5. GCMPATS don't you know that 20-4a plays football better than anyone in the state! All you have to do is listen to them. That is why it took L-town 35 years to make their first playoff appearance and GCM mad it in only their 2nd year. Maybe GCM shouldn't even show up. I am now glad GCM is the underdog in every game they play. Pressure is on every opponent to beat the doormat I guess. Both RBs are back and healthy this week. Go Pats!
6. GCM will have both running backs back for this game. Starter only played in 2nd half and backup did not play at all because he had been in hospital from what I hear.2nd string qb played running back in 1st half and he had never played there before. Let's hope for a better outcome. O-line better be better or someone may have a short season. Need to give qb a little longer to throw. Good luck to both teams!
7.

so 350 yards is an ugly game huh??? ::)
Absolutely.  GCM made LCM look like Lake Travis.
The same Lake Travis that LCM lost to 46-45 in the state 7 on 7 championship bracket.  ;)
I am a GCM fan but a good reply here. I know it is 7 on 7 but have to give some respect.
8. I'll have to root for Sterling and think with Nelson healthy they win. Lee never lays down and is always up for this game so it may be a good battle. Good luck to both teams. Brings back a lot of memories of playing this game.
9. Everyone knew the offense was going to be work in progress. Last night there was only one starter (Center) on the field from last year and he was hurt and did not play much of the game. So 11 on the field had no or very limited varsity experience. The inexperience showed at almost every position. Guillory showed he is a game breaker when healthy. QB showed he can deliver the ball accurately but must have time to throw the ball. Receivers need to consistently come back to the ball and not wait on it to come to them. I know the INT for a TD that was called back should have at the very least been knocked down by receiver. DB stepped right in front while receiver was standing still. LCM blitzed almost every play in 2nd half and when there are 5 linemen and 6 or 7 rushing, well you do the math. QB should have just gotten rid of ball before being sacked but looked like he had people from both sides coming at him almost every play. Tough kid but he is feeling the wrath of the LCM front this morning. Threw the ball well for most part so I am not knocking him. LCM did an excellent job of exploiting every weakness GCM has. Did not take long for them to see that the O-line could not keep them out of the backfield. GCM has to cut down on all the turnovers and keep the defense off the field. Line must get better in order for them to have a chance. The defense knew they were going to carry this team early on and they did not do their part either. They need to put this behind them and use as a learning experience. My hats off to LCM but Big plays and being caught out of position made LCM look much better than they are. GCM was just that bad. I saw some good things as well. More throws down the field may have opened things up a bit but I never saw receivers go past 10 or 15 yards on their routes and I know the QB can throw 45 to 50 yds downfield. GCM can overcome as they have talent but no experience in many areas. Good luck and we will root for you the whole season. Win or Lose!
10. My bad panama, I think they were referring to the first 20 minutes. Cy Springs had the ball the first 20 minutes and did have early success until the D tightened up a bit. 7 first downs in 7 posessions does not constitute a dominate performance. Good job against a large 5A program. I thought that such a program would have run away with the game. It  really looked like if Cy Springs would have went from the spread to a more power running game, they would have had their way with GCM.
11. I will say this... If LCM's D-line is as big and quick as what I saw yesterday GCM will struggle running the ball. Their qb did a good job on the read run plays and did not seem afraid to lower his shoulder and run through tacklers. He had success running and throwing and believe he had a good td run called back. Receivers are so big they can be a problem for some smaller DB's. How is LCM's D-line?
12. I will not predict any score as I have only seen LCM in one 7 on 7 tournament. They do have some good athletes but I do not see them matching up with virtually the whole defense that held Central to 7 points in last year's playoff game. We'll see how they do in week 0. Good luck to both schools. As far as Cy Springs rushing attack, they had some early success running the ball but 75 yards rushing in 42 minutes of total play does not indicate success running the football. They had plenty of talent but just looked like they were still looking at filling out positions lost from last year.
13. I do not know what game you were watching but Cy Springs never saw the end zone unbtil they spotted the ball at the 10 yard line a few times and they got it in 3 times. Cy Springs has 4,000 kids in their school and they did not do a very good job when they passed or ran out of the spread. Line was a problem and GCM consitently moved the ball. GCM seemed more atheletic and receivers dropped at least one touchdown pass and GCM had one called back. You can dream on about LCM and 7 on 7 but with noone rushing the QB they will struggle with their small receiving core. Saw Dayton as well and everyone needs to know they have just reloaded.
14. Exaggerating of course, but I saw their spring game and he looks all of 6'6". Backup was a better runner.
15. I am not from Dayton but if you think they will not just reload and be ready to take 19-4A, you are probably mistaken. They have talent at every skill position and and are so disciplined. May have some close calls but they always peak at playoff time. 1. Dayton 2. Crosby 3. GCM 4. BH or Lee GCM will surprise some teams. So many underclassmen from last year on Varsity their undersquad never had chance. RB Guillory a gamebreaker. I heard 3 receivers over 6'3". New qb ran well in scrimmage with two long runs. BH will do well under new system. Well coached and dis iplined. Good off-season program and some talent at skill positions. Big O-line and talented Soph at qb. Crosby will be fine. Merka will see to that. May struggle early as well. But plenty of team speed. Lee has 8' qb and good team speed. They may surprise some people going To 4A. Always a. Tough opponent.
16. I think you guys who think it is ok to get on here and criticize these kids for their play need to think again. I get as frustrated as anyone, but these are high school kids and making sarcastic comments about their TO's etc, is not cool. If you have ever played QB you would understand that you are under a microscope all the time. Your parents cannot even sit in the stands without hearing someone criticize their kid at least once during every game.
17. All you guys from the Golden Triangle kill me. Yes, you do have a lot of rich tradition with some outstanding football programs but you would think that noone else does by listening to all of you. You say that 20-4A plays real football and are real football teams. What does that make all the teams from the Houston area. You cannot take PN-G stomping of Crosby early in the season and compare it to now or you will have to compare PN-G barely squeaking by BH.  Let the results next week speak for themselves and give all the credit where it is due, to the winners. GCM, I think has 8 Sophomores on varsity and all making a contribution especially on defense where many start. It may have killed their JV this year but has helped out the varsity more than anyone knows. The Soph. back up RB for GCM will be a D-1 recruit and may already be better than the Allen kid if given the chance. A second year program with one win last season and getting better each week. If GCM wins, I would hardly call this an upset. Good luck to both programs.
