Well so far in district 19 they are. Let's not forget they won a district every fall sport this year.  Football,  Volleyball,  Team Tennis and boys and girls cross country.  I'd  say that's a special place.  And they have done this for the better part of tree last ten years.  How many schools can say that?  Winning tradition in every sport!
I wasn't going to respond to this; but, Soulja inspired me. This is probably the "attitude" a previous BH fan posted about. Just an observation from an outsider...
I am picturing a student with tears in his/her eyes while typing the original quote here. I know I am crying because I cannot quit laughing! Where is your "Special Place" people?
 2.

I will go on record and say that he will not win a playoff game at BH.  His best class just finished their senior football season and I dont see him hanging around for much longer, maybe 2 or 3 years.  Just my opinion.
I think he leaves this year. Nearly our entire defense graduates, and a bunch of our offense. If he couldn't do great things with this team...the next few years aren't going to be as good. IMHO.
I don't know when our first playoff win will be, but I do know that next years team will do their best to make it happen. We had our chances on Friday but Ozen played great and made the plays when needed. We all talked smack leading up to the game and we didn't back it up, so now we have to listen to everyone but that's the fun of this site, good or bad. We lose a lot of players this year but we do have our QB for two more years and some very good Juniors coming back. Our JV was very good this year and we will need everyone to step up to the challenge. The thing a do not like or understand is BH people getting on here and making comments about not being good for the next few years. SUPPORT THE KIDS AND THE PROGRAM, GOOD OR BAD!!!
I do not see a problem with Barbers Hill making the playoffs next year from what I can tell from the talent level. They will be fine. Just need to win a playoff game to gain some postseason confidence! I don't likem but they will be good next year! I see Crosby and Dayton going for 19-4a title though. Hopefully, GCM will see a first playoff win next year with who they have returning. Good Luck!
 3.
Are you serious? Those players were "addressed" on the sidelines. Coach Boyd proved with the suspensions last week that the type of behavior displayed will not be tolerated.
These boys should know that this type of behavior will not be tolerated long before the game or the season starts for that matter. No consistency with the discipline on this team and he does not have the respect of his players. This is a fact! This coach may be a little misunderstood and nothing personally against him, but he has to make his players believe that he legitamately cares about them. Not saying that he doesn't care, just does not show it. The coach may not like to have to play some kind of "father figure" to many of these kids, but the reality is that it is the right thing to do, especially when they do not have one. Just Sayin!
 4. Have all games played (to be played) this week in the Golden Triangle? Might as well be all home games!

"TRASH" Now that's hitting below the belt!!!!!!!!!!!!! >:(
OUCH!
 6. Come on Dayton! I cannot take being swept of the porch! Can you imagine this forum over the next year if 20-4a gets the sweep? It will be bad enough going 1-3!
 7. Obviously, you have not been to many BH sporting events from youth to high school. Something in the water there changes people when they move there. I love the way they come out and support their teams but they absolutley have this superior attitude or status because they live there. Nice to proud of where you live but never forget where you came from! So many "move ins" over the last 10 years have forgotten where they came from. IMO! They complain about every play, every call that does not go their way. Excuses made for everything not going there way. They had an excellent team and they should be proud but they were bound to get beat by a "just as discplined and more athletic team". They had an excellent coach before this coach arrived. He came with an excellent resume and many were ready to run him out of town after the first loss to Dayton last year. These kids play hard, tough, disciplined football without many of the natural athletes of other schools. IMO, Price would do well at GCM with his system. Just an opinion...
 8.

Its one thing to believe in your team and support them. But something entirely different when you are acting cocky about a 4-6 record to a team that has blown you away twice already. Yes GCM has a chance to win tonight. Its the playoffs baby! But I wouldnt take that to the bank  ;)
Don't really count scrimmages. Game 1 was far from a "blow out". I think GCM has a chance. I stand by that until the final whistle blows.
GCM, don't pretend the game was highly competitive either...GCM has some good players and they can be very dangerous...they have lacked consistency, which IMO is the mark of a really good team...if they play their best, this game will be competitive...if they make too many miscues, they could be in for a long night...Nederland will definitely play for 4 quarters as they have all season long, so an incomplete game for GCM will not lead to success for them...I stand by my pick of Nederland 28, GCM 14...I see it as being cclsoe for a while with the Dogs strength up front eventually winning out
Very well said! I agree but hope that GCM will put together a mistake free game. A win here could turn the attitude towards the football program around. The kids showed some heart in coming back after being down to Lee. You cannot overcome such mistakes against Nederland. Good luck to all. GO PAT's!
 9. Coach Boyd at GCM read all the posts on here and I heard he decided not to show up tonight. Ned wins!
 10.
Why is PNG at 90% for me? They are hotter than anyone else in SETX right now.... Chase Bertrand has established himself as one of the best backs in the area over the last few weeks (As if he had any more to prove) and their defense has done their job....  I think PNG wins and wins it by 14.... Why is Vidor at 90% for me? Defense... They are the best equipped team to slow down the Crosby twins in 20-4A.... Vidor has eliminated one key thing from the last few seasons and that's turnovers.... They hold on to the football for 7 minutes at a time and get points, not turnovers....  Vidor will win this one in a low scoring game.... And Nederland is a for sure for me because they are the best team in 20-4A and GCM does not have enough to keep up with them.... I for one don't think GCM would beat any of the four 20-4A playoff teams.... Nederland's defense allowed around 13 points per game before the Ozen game, and I haven't seen the average since.... And ask people from BH, Nederland should have beaten them.... What did you do against BH? And while I agree, Barbers Hill is a better team than Ozen, I believe that Ozen is going to provide matchup problems for the Eagles.... BH will have to find a way to corral some of that speed on Ozen's offensive unit, and they'll have to figure out a way to run it over Ozen's defense, because they WON'T run it AROUND them.... Now, if you would like to offer your opinions and give me reason other than "I'm from Dayton" or "I go to school at Goose Creek Memorial" then I'd be glad to listen!!!
I never really predict anything on here but I predict Crosby will score 30 against Vidor. Vidor may keep the ball 7 minutes at a time but it only takes them a couple of plays or couple of minutes to score. Vidor will have success running the football as well. I mean have you seen these two Sophs? Very dangerous!

Don't have a problem admitting it. I still think anyone has to give them the edge in this game. If they cause a few turnovers it could be a very long night for GCM. If GCM plays a near perfect game, this one could be close. BH is just so disciplined and makes few mistakes so I do not see them having many turnovers. GCM will have athleticism on their side but BH has played some athletic teams this year and remain undefeated. GCM's defense has played better each week, including holding Crosby well under their average yds and points. If they can be disciplined enough to stuff the run and not get burned in the secondary, they can win. BIG IF! This week we have to deal with a power game and not two shifty and speedy twins. Don't know which is worse but we will find out. GCM might need a punt or KO return to win. We have shown we have big play ability on special teams.
Let the hate go Cbear ;D BH Special teams is also playing lights out this year! That has been another huge improvement and a big reason for the teams success this year. GCM has the tools to make this go to the wire, BH also has the tools needed to open this game up! Not sure what to expect in this game, but I think the Eagles will come out pumped up and ready to play after playing some of the weaker teams in our district! I know the the fans of BH are ready for a real game! It's going to be nice to see some fans sitting across the field from us makeing some noise! I counted 26 GP fans at the last game (No kidding) and all the BHfans had pretty much nothing to do ,but talk to each other 8)
No hate.. Too many friends living there who whine way too much about sports, refs and coaches in HS, JH and youth sports. I have even had a few tell me what kind of families they do not want living there. You guys have a great program and fan support but I just cannot stomach it on a consistent basis. I am sure we have the same but am talking about co-workers and friends I know. Anyway, I still give credit where it is due and you guys have every reason to be excited about this year and even years to come. I would like to see an upset by GCM by it would have to be a just about flawless game by them.

Crosby is weak up the middle. GCM loves to Run the ball in the middle. Best D Crosby has seen since Dawson.
Yeah and we put up 28 on dawson... so ur saying GCM is going to score 45 points? Also weak up the middle? is that a feeling or a fact. I hope the cougs see that one... i want a pissed off linebacker myself. p.s. Dawson didn't even try to run it up the middle.
no team will hit 45. 31 to 13 GCM. Fact how you think LEE won. speedy running between the tackles. Dawson attacks the edge against all the teams they play of course they are not going to run up the middle. Just cause you put up 26 on Dawson. You still lost by 30. halftime score was 35 to 10. 42 to 18 by the end of the 3rd. It was practice for Dawson going in to the 4th. GCM plays Manvel 19 to 12 at half. 32 to 19 at the end of the 3rd. It was still a game going in to the 4th.  GCM by 17
Lol... question that manvel game... what the score end up? How bout that king game? "Fact how you think LEE won." Lee won with a very good passing attack, they finished the game with a Runningback playing QB, basically running a wildcat... GCM can't throw the ball and they're going to lose because of it. "Crosby, You lost to Lee?  This conversation is over. Love, The Goose" You lost to King this conversation is over.
Yes, we did lose to King, but if I was from BH, I would cry foul on the refs calling back a  TD pass that would have sealed the win in the 4th qtr. Refs said our QB crossed line of scrimmage before throwing the ball but video shows he was clearly 2-3 yds behind it. But I am not from BH so we did lose. Should have never been that close, I agree. Blowing a 17-0 lead in the 3rd qtr. Almost deserve to lose. You keep saying we cannot throw. We only throw if we have to. Three things happen when you throw and two of these things are not good. We choose to run if we are successful. Confidence is what they have always lacked. Seem to be riding high after this King loss. We will see... Good luck...
 17.
Just left practice. GCM was putting a lot of emphasis on the victory formation. I wonder if you can donkey stomp a Cougar? All signs point to yes!
LMAO
 18.

I can see how you guys are not sold on GCM. They will have to be consistent in winning to change anyone's opinion. These guys are learning how to play together and this could spell success. They have some big play ability but prefer to go with the big RB on offense. the O-line looks very good and if they do not have to throw, they won't. Our QB has minimized his mistakes and has answered the call the past few weeks, making very good decisions running (4 tds vs dayton) and throwing the football. If he continues to play this way, we will be just fine. I do not see Crosby slowing this offense down, we can run a power game (#44), 192 yds rushing vs Dayton or we can put a little "shake and bake" (#33) who torched GP for 157 rushing yds in just 2 qtrs. I do not buy into all the stats. We should have never lost to CE King and the guys appeared to have learned from this. We competed with Manvel for 2+ qtrs until turnovers did in our momentum. Nederland's "D" gave us problems but we scored on them as well. Both, Nederland and Manvel may be on their way to winning their districts. Playing these teams early just helped learn from the mistakes. Our Defense has learned a little discipline and cause a lot of turnovers but this week will say a lot about their ability to be consistent. They are quick but this will be their biggest test since the Manvel game. Good luck to both teams. I will not even predict what the outcome will be.
Crosby was tested as well. Dawson is 8-0 and is going to play manvel and La Marque for the title the next two weeks. Montgomery is in Brenham's district... we put more points on them than any other team this season. Crosby is not turning the ball over... shocker given 2 sophomores run the show. And we Beat PNG, the Lee game was our CE King equivalent. For GCM to win your not going to have to score on us, your going to have to score a ton on us. As for your power run game, we can stop that... Dawson ran the same setup and they beat the cougs through the air. GCM is a lesser version of Dawson, but a team that hasn't shown the ability to throw the ball (the cougs big weakness). Cali is going to be all over your back this Friday. Something tells me 5 turnovers made the job for your defense easy against Dayton. your other win VS GP had 5 turnovers as well. So my full prediction is now... Crosby will force GCM to throw the football, and that will lead to GCM turnovers. GCM defense will face the quickest back they've played this year. GCM Defense will give up a TD pass of over 40 yards to the cougs. Crosby will Fumble the ball 2x but only lose it 1x GCM will have more turnovers than Crosby GCM will lose by 2 TD's GCM will rush for less than 200 yards of 50 attempts. Crosby will have 500 yards of total offense. The difference is this GCM relies on Turnovers for their offense to be able to pound the ball in. However the Cougs don't they consistently drive 80 yards for a score. As for BH-92 hes just picking GCM so he can talk trash when we meet for the game! I get GCM can run the ball, but don't forget Crosby might have the best back in 19-4a, he is certainly putting up those numbers. I just think the entire basis for the argument in support of GCM is based on two games. both time you received 5 turnovers. Here is what i mean by GCM NEEDS turnovers to score. Dayton 5 turnovers -> 34 points GP 5 Turnovers -> 45 points King 2 Turnovers -> 17 points Manvel 3 Turnovers -> 19 points Your best game of the year: Nederland 0 turnovers 20 points (14 points in last minute of 3rd or in the fourth) Also that's Nederlands best offensive performance of the season (points wise.) LCM 1 turnover -> 14 points (7 of them right before time expires in the 4th) Honestly your offense hasn't moved the ball on anyone this year. And your defense is a turnover or bust style defense, means thier overly aggressive, and that -> to big plays, and on top of it, your playing a team in Crosby who consistently makes huge plays. heres a few examples MONT. CRO -- Jacoby Scott 47-yard pass from Walter Aston (Austin Walter run), 01:02, 3rd CRO -- Juvaunte Street 53-yard pass from Walter Aston (Sam Fowler kick), 09:20, 4th. GCM 1st and 10 at the Dayton 25." GCMPats "Interception! Dayton receivers are having  some trouble. Herrera is dead on." GCMPats (Sounds like they where handing your defense the ball) "Purple 4 Ever- looks like my jeddi java the han solo game calling crystal ball is working. They have a sonic just down the street from GCM if you need more video footage. You may be short on highlights tomorrow." BH-92 just because that's a hall of fame post. "It's not the coach. Dang receivers can't catch." GCMPats According to Dayton fans at least 3 starters quit the week before the GCM game... i think that might have something to do with their turnover problems. P.S. I'm very fired up for this game, i think its going to be the Cougs statement win. Before the two big games with BH and Dayton.
You really need to close the computer and get out more. I cannot believe you dug up all the stats just to make a point. Might be trying to convince yourself that Crosby has this game won. It will be decided on the field, which is why I said earlier that I will not even predict who will win. We have been way to inconsistent to predict and you guys have some playmakers but did lose to Lee. We moved the ball well on Nederland and their Defense is much stronger than Crosby. We had too many turnovers, one on our own one yard line that accounted for one of Nederland's easy TD's and another on Nederlands one when we were about to punch it in. 14 point swing right there.  I would say that Sezar from LCM was the quickest and fastest back we have seen all year. Manvel had no one with his speed. Crosby will be a test. Just hope our guys and coaches are up to it and we do what it takes to win.

It was a run around the corner (on our side) in the second half when the broncs were heading toward the north (or whatever our right side was) endzone. It reminded me of some plays two years ago. The dback fought off his block and made a nice play. It seems he's progressing to me. I still think the broncos are dangerous if we get healthy.
He's not hardly a 100% but is showing good signs of improvement every game . I think playing on defense with some contact will build his confedence and y eah I did see that break out run and not to mention when he runs up the middle he makes good gains on every touch.
[IMG][Hidden Content];   [IMG][Hidden Content]]     This one?
Si!  your avatar actually reminded me of it. I think he needs to break one for a confidence builder. I think he'd be different after that.
If he would have been healthy, Dayton wins that game against GCM. IMO Hands down the best RB in 19-4A when healthy. It would have been a track meet, but Dayton wins. He makes plays, even when there is nowhere to run. I hope he gets back to 100% so we all can see him in college.

All of em will put a hit on you. Dolan #40 is huge and fast. He is only a Jr. this year.
I would say Nederland and BH from a team perspective. GCM did rack up some yardage agains Nederland but they had some LB's that could get to the ball.
 21.
Juan Carranco - Dayton.... 52 yd long. Has missed a couple this year, but IMO is still the best.
As many times as he punts, he should be the best in the State.    ;D ;D ;D
He does not even have a chance to punt when your team has a turnover every 5 or so snaps.

Vs.  North ForestCrosby won 48-14 while gaining 401 yards and allowing 368 GCM won 27-7 – No stats from the Chronicle  Vs. C.E. KingCrosby won 45-17 while gaining 418 yards and allowing 148 GCM lost 20-17 while gaining 242 yards and allowing 311 Vs. Galena ParkCrosby won 42-14 while gaining 503 yards and allowing 243 GCM won 45-13 while gaining 246 yards and allowing 187 Not counting the North Forest game due to no stats Crosby has averaged 460.5 yards a game compared to GCM’s 244 yards a game offensively. Defensively Crosby has allowed an average of 195.5 yards a game compared to GCM’s 249 yards a game. Crosby averaged 216.5 more yards on offense than GCM and allowed an average of 53.5 yards a game less than GCM on Defense. Unless Crosby just turns the ball over all game long I can’t see them losing. Now do you see how bored I am !!!! Pulling stats on Crosby and GCM!!!!!!!!!
I predict that Crosby will spot GCM a huge lead and Merka will come out of the stands to lead a 2nd half comeback, where it will come down to an extra point to win the ballgame. The kicker will then get so excited that he will kick the holder's foot forcing the game into OT where GCM will kick a 50 yd FG to win the game. That is my saturday morning story prediction.

I will predict it, GCM will run the ball all night controlling possession.  This is not the same team that played 4 or 5 weeks ago.  GCM wins this one.
Turnovers might decide who wins this one. Go Patriots!

Cost them a TD and at least  100 yds of total offense. Durden (#10), has played much better the last 4 games. Throwing the  ball well and used his legs  quite well also tonight. Wimberly (#44) is a work-horse. The soph (#33) did  not have a  rushing  attempt tonight. He provides a change of speed. Can't wait until Friday. Time to  see  if these boys are ready for prime time.
Goodlord yall had 100 yards and Dayton had 55 yards tonight in penalties
Amen, they are all playing better, especially Durden. He is playing much smarter and is showing what he is capable of when making good decisions. If needed, I hope we see #33 in the game against BH. Dayton did not even get a dose of him. A lot more shifty with speed. Wimberley was a horse all night. Coaches seem to be making the much needed adjustments as needed. Not many needed when you move the ball at will on Dayton. 300+ yards rushing. Wow! I hated to see Jakari just not the same player. He is one of the best RB's I have seen in a while. Will he overcome his injury? I sure would like to see him play on Saturdays in the next few years.
