2.
It's Turkey Day and after reading this everyone will know who will win this week (at least to around 80% accuracy). Which means... Three of these four picks should be correct. The picks are at... [Hidden Content] Bronco fans, detailed directions to the game are about midway down the page. Enjoy the Reading! TOUPS GRAPHICS FEARLESS PREDICTIONS REGIONAL ROUND OF PLAYOFFS There are eight 4A teams left in Region III. Last years Region winners (Friendswood and Dayton) are still alive and playing strongly. The topped ranked Houston area team (Angleton) is playing impressively. Brenham has the biggest win of the playoffs so far upending the #5 state ranked PN-G Indians in last weeks area round. Crosby, Central, El Campo, and Pearland Dawson round out the eight teams. Three of these teams (Friendswood, Angleton, and Dawson) are all from 24-4A, while three of the other five teams (Crosby, Central, and Dayton) represent the teams east of Houston. The four games left this weekend will be wars. Will 24-4A win out and send three of it's teams to the quarterfinals, or will the deep SETX teams advance. Read below to find out the winers. 4A PLAYOFFS AREA FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 27 Dayton Broncos vs El Campo Rice Birds Tully Stadium, Spring Branch, TX 7:00 PM The Bronco stampede heads west on I-10 to Spring Branch to take on the El Campo Rice Birds. The Dayton defense has turned into the force that was predicted at the beginning of the season while the Bronco offense has quick started itself on a strong sophomore class. El Campo brings a high powered running attack into this game. Look for the overall speed of the Dayton front seven to win this game yet again. Dayton gets at least a dozen tackles behind the line of scrimmage and stalls out the Rice Birds ground attack. Look for Gamal Fowler to catch at least two long passes to break open the game for the Broncos, and for Carranco to continue to connect on field goals. The Broncos win and go to the quarterfinals for their third straight year. TOUPS GRAPHICS FEARLESS PREDICTION Dayton 37 El Campo 17 SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 21 Central Jaguars vs Friendswood Mustangs Stallworth Stadium, Baytown, TX 2:00 PM The Golden Triangle fans of SETXsports.com have had enough with FriendswoodFan. He is the big zit on the nose that just won't pop. Aggravating as he is, he does have a point. Friendswood has beaten all teams east of Houston for many years. Last years one point victory over Central still has Jaguar fans upset. Will the Jaguar fans finally be able to pop that big zit and send FriendswoodFan spraying all over the mirror. Will FriendswoodFan still gleefully be creating manifesto threads stating Friendswood superiority. Saturday afternoon in Baytown the zit packer hits the fan. Central will have the edge of revenge in this game and play at another level. Look for the Jaguar defense to create three second half turnovers that create enough tension to pop the unpoppable zit that FriendswoodFan represents. The Jaguars win and the music from BMTSoulja's ghettoblaster shakes the cat crackers of the Chevron plant just upstream on Cedar Bayou. FriendswoodFan, wanting to see more football, relunctantly calls the Dayton admin building to purchase playoff tickets to watch the Broncos play on the gridiron while the Mustangs dribble basketballs till their heart is content (it is becoming an addiction of his to watch the Broncos play football after his Mustangs are ousted (or less say POPPED)). Of course, if this fearless prediction is wrong, crow must I eat as FriendswoodFan adds more diameter to the zit he represents. TOUPS GRAPHICS FEARLESS PREDICTION Central 24 Friendswood 21 Crosby Cougars vs Pearland Dawson Eagles Abshier Stadium, Deer Park, TX, 2 PM The Cougars luck runs out this week. The Cougars have been beneficiaries of turnovers, and this week Dawson plays a mistake free game and hangs on for a win. This will be an all out war, but in the end, the Dawson Eagles will stop a Cougar drive in the 4th quarter, take over on downs, and go into victory formation. The greatest football season of this century for the Cougars comes to an end at Deer Park, but they will always have the 19-4A district championship trophy in the foyer of their hall and their first win over Dayton this century. TOUPS GRAPHICS FEARLESS PREDICTION Dawson 34 Crosby 28 BONUS PREDICTION Brenham vs Angleton The topped ranked Houston area Angleton team takes down Brenham this week and pulls one game closer to a region III championship. Of course to win this championship they might just very well have to beat the two time defending Region III champion Dayton Broncos next week. Angleton has control of this game for three quarters, a fourth quarter come from behind attack by Brenham falls just short when a pass is intercepted and returned for a touchdown. TOUPS GRAPHICS FEARLESS PREDICTION Angleton 31 Brenham 21 TOUPS GRAPHICS POWER RANKINGS NOVEMBER 15 There are now just three 4A teams left east of the San Jancinto. The Power Rankings this week continue to rank the teams by which one will be playing last. Central draws Friendswood (last years Division I Region III champs), a very tall order to win, the Cougars draw Pearland Dawson (another powerful 24-4A team), and the Broncos draw El Campo, another running team which faces a tall order against the Bronco defense. #1 Dayton - At the beginning of the playoffs, just studying the brackets, Dayton really drew a good spot. If Dayton continues to play good defense look for them to be in the quarter-final game. The doesn't change from last week. If El Campo can't convert some big plays through the air, look for Rice Birds to be on the wrong side of a wood shed beating. #2 Crosby - Should win the area round, but will play Dawson in the following week. The Cougar offense will really have to fire on all cylinders for the Cougars to advance. A 4th quarter defensive lapse could be terminal this week. #3 Central - The Jaguars have a great team, but unless they can get the offense clicking, in the following week they should draw Friendswood. The Jaguars will have to improve to stay with the Mustangs. Can the offense continue the magic if found at the end of the game. Central will have to score at least 28 to advance against Friendswood. 5.
I guess the final rankings don't mean much after playoffs  ;D ;D ;D
But they did a good job in 4a Your 2-5 are all in the playoffs still. PNG lost to brenham so hardly a abd loss.
6. For all the bickering Fans do on these forums, one thing is undeniable the Crosby Cougars are in the 3rd round of the playoffs for the first time since 1960, i beleive we were the buffalos then. Hats off and Hands down a great job thus far this year. Just a coog fan giving the recognition were it is due.
7. Will they ever put someone away? Crosby wins yet again in thrilling fashion.
8.
Is the central/friendswood game at 1:00 or 2:00???
Dunno but good luck to Central.
Well always love idiots who post on forums thx for the bulletin board material Kiddo... FYI last person to post something like this wasn't only wrong, thier now sitting in the bleachers watching games.
THX didn't know that. Careful - mods will ban you for bashing if you use the word idiot. If they are consistent that is.
10. As a Person whos not from the Golden Triangle and has had to go to The RES and watch a game officiated between a "golden triangle" team and an outsider. NO CALLS HAPPEN! if your arguement is the REF's were biased then its your coaches fault for not demanding a different zebra crew... For example Crosby/Nederland was officated by a zebra crew from the DFW area. I'm pretty sure it was because crosby didn't want a beuamont crew and Nederland didn't want a Houston Crew thus they compromised. NO CALLS HAPPEN AND YES SOMETIMES THEY LOOK VERY INTENTIONAL. Every reason you would defend your refs (beaumont) is a reason you should cut these refs some slack.
11. Crosby has a perty decent WR whos at Louisana Tech
12. The only Common note i see in this game is GCM played dawson in week 1, and dawson consistently gives up points. They're spotty in putting up points... The got throttled by Angleton, beat pretty soundly and shut down by Friendswood. Angleton apperently got a bunch of turnovers. They've had 2 marquee games this year and lost them, they won thier bidistrict round, but then they played an HISD school. Everyone has given this team a lot of credit but i think that the coogs are slightly more battle tested. Game 1 of the Playoffs was against a very good District in 20-4a and then a big game last weekend. I'm going to give these kids credit you don't get into the third round by fluke but, i think the Battle TESTED cougars can come out big in this one. (not a large margin but the win)

14. shit im 19 and they got me on high blood pressure meds after these two games from the cougs =P
15. Those stats remind me of Viverrette minus the PICKS
16. Id like to See Brenham ANgleton, thatd be a good game... o wait its happening lulz Brenham if you stop the run you win... simple as that.
17. I think thiers quite a few in Dallas that are bigger, (is Galena Park bigger), lots of 5a schools have big stadiums, i think Permian-odesa has a big one aswell. Big but i doubt its one of the bigger ones.
18. ONE Heck of a preformance... Hay when we don't play dayton in the first round it seems like the cougs do pretty good =P Nah great game guys Franks as an RB good idea i believe... if he ahd better hands he'd been an amazing WR, but u got ploch out thier, good team great year keep it going.
19. im in wednesday is fine... who knows maybe we will have all 7 teams advance again=P
20.
Since some of our teams are done for the season, I thought it would be neat to possibly voice concerns or excitement for next season. Who is coming back? Any JV/Freshman that can be contributors next year? Etc...
Let you know when we're done.!
21. Massey has this as an extremely close game 23-22 =p If Massey is right, id take the cougars this year, however bad we think that defense secondary is they always step up (so far) in crunch time, BH game, and Both playoff games. My question isn't defensive because i think were gonna give up 21-28 points... my question is whether or not that Dawson Defense can stop that COugar run game.
22.
If they want to keep advancing they are going to have to make some adjustments in that secondary. With that said, they have done a h&ll of a job thus far. To advance I believe they are going to have to change things up a little. You have to "dance with the one that brung you" but I think you're going to have to add a wrinkle in the offensive and defensive scheme to advance further. To watch their first game of the year and where they are now is quite amazing.
They introduced a wrinkle this week if you didn't notice, but id like to see the defense change coverages more often... itd be good for the team.
23. Starting this out what you guys think about this game?
24.
It's hard to question the coaching, because they keep winning. But everyone I talked to after the game had the same comments. Three things that stuck out. One was we went for it when we should have punted. Two, why not have 2 men deep on kick offs that are suspected onside kicks. And THREE, drop back your secondary so that you do not get beat deep. Do not want to be negative and the coaches know way more than I do, but it just seems too obvious. Maybe someone else can explain. Either way the guys came up big and it was a great win. I have a new name for them, Cardiac Cougars!
We need to ahve a seperate post for this subject, but what happens is we play a cover-2 which leaves open the middle i wish the staff would mix in a cover three package to take advantage of teams scouting.
