I luv all the Trash talk when thiers only 1 Crosby poster in the bunch on a thread CALLED CROSBY COUGARS! hahhaha. Honestly Dayton is a great team. Saying your going to "curb stomp" people probably isn't the best thing to say when your from an Area like Dayton (American History X anyone.) The Cougs always have wrinkles. The major Wrinkle that the Broncos couldn't handle last year was the sideways kick, something they introduced rarely before that game. The team lined up hard hitter towards the middle and they all ran to the ball on kickoffs the ball stays in the air a longtime and as soon as the Broncos caught it they were getting smacked in the face (or as in the 14-0 kickoff they decided they weren't going to catch it -> to an onside recovery) DAYTONS DEFENSE PLAYED WELL in that game. but they consistently gave the ball to the cougs within 35 yards of the end zone. Do i think thats gonna happen again? prolly not, im sure Dayton will have really high kicks going to thier players all week before the game. BUT! the Cougs defense still made a bunch of big stomps and if i remember right knocked Ploch out of the game. (he's a tough kid you don't do that with anything other then huge hits) Dayton's Offense and SPECIAL TEAMS were HORRIBLE. MAybe it was the rain... i know horses don't like the rain but sheesh if broncos are gonna use the rain as an excuse its perty sad, and untrue to the spirit of the game. Do i think the cougs are gonna beat Dayton? Yes. I do. Why? I think they will get superior QB play from Merka (TCU) and whoever ends up running the ball will be successful. 2 RB's in a row have been why doubt them now. Talent wise, i honestly believe Dayton and Crosby are pretty even and its been a shame that previous coaches haven't measured up tactically or perhaps in their development of players haven't done as well as Stewart. But i Think Flanigan is slowly but surely getting a reputation as a damn good coach. But as previously stated we don't talk trash. We just win. =P

Id argue its gonna be another close one. Id love to see the cougs take out Dawson (more so than montgomery, because those kids were rude in other forums) As for Moving PNG up i honestly don't think so maybe your better than Dawson but you can't blame fans for giving props to a team that went 4 rounds (lost to the champs) and beat them the previous year. And Honestly i think Motgomery is better than PNG. I think if they utilize their QB more theyd be an amazing team, but i dunno seems one dimensional to me. In the END we know the offense will be thier its a big question, can we have guys step in and feel some big shoes that left last year.

First Home game? No Problem Cougs remain dominate in Crosby.

I vaguely remembering a 4th down stop against this team... im not dreaming right? They were too 1 dimensional last year that kids good but he can't beat a team  (by himself) as the 3 stops within 5 yards of the goalie prove. and a swat down on fourth (time expired/ w/e) I agree thought they are a good Darkhorse. But if they're a dark horse then why is C-town getting NO love. we have a D1 prospect in Merka (TCU) and good players, granted not glitzy players. Little luv would be nice however.

I live near Crosby, not in it, but I know the place. Crosby is an old farming and ranching community and deserves better than what is being written on this board.  Crosby is more than the community of Newport and more than the community of Barrett Station. Newport came along in the 70's and those people came from places all over the state and all over the nation to live there.  I personally think this thread has gotten way too much bad publicity for Crosby that they do not deserve.  Most of those people don't have a clue what their school board decides or doesn't decide. Hum... Crosby Dayton GCM Lee No particular order. someone said losing record amkes playoffs not likely, i forsee a rough year for BH (first years in systems aren't always easy)-NF-CE KING. I honestly could see this be a district where you have one team who wins one game and another that wins 0 (not BH FYI i'm thinking 2-3 wins not trying to be mean) I think the district champ can only lose 1 game, and i bet at the end of the day its gonna be Crosby and Dayton both with 1 loss (in district) and the winner of that game deciding who is the district champion.

So this would be a second round district for 19-4a then correct?

I got a prediction to start the season off with 1's will be Crosby/Dayton 2's will be Lee/GCM I see Lee Losing Both games to C+D but possibly a three way tie between Lee, BH, GCM with points going to Lee and GCM. Sorry Bh but thats where my mind rest right now.

I always luv when my school puts out a roster thats WRONG! gotta luv it, those kids i listed were all from the Crosby HS "roster" link gotta love it. W/E In Dom we trust =P

ON that awesome predistrict schedule for the Cougs, we can either come out of that limping or with a ton of Confidence, either way, its gonna be Crosby and Dayton deciding another championship in the 19-4a? ooo we got our number back lol. So just wondering Did Lee lose alot of talent because of GCM? because they used to be very good every year but sicne GCM came to be they haven't been very good. And one thing everyone has to look forward too welcoming Lee to THE 19-4a, not like those other weaker 4a districts =P (i know i ahd to throw the jab in sorry Nederland/PNG/Central/Vidor/EtC. )

ok we have more coming back than you think. Forrest Tyler will probably play RB (he did his sophmore year) and we have a 6ft 5' WR coming back according to the Roster kid named Ashton Martin. WR's on Varsity who are returning Ashton Martin Forrest Tyler Jacoby Scott MJ MAthis We do have only 2 Varsity linemen coming back DEFENSE LOSES THESE PLAYERS All but 1 LB i believe OUR D Line rotations and 1 DB but we have alot of kids who are gonna be ready to play. If everyone remembers we weren't supposed to be great last year.

Nah no rebuilding buddy just reloading. If the line holds up (we've traditionally had good lines) we will do fine, we still have a huge playmaker at QB.

Mr. Joesph is the farthest thing from a bigot i've ever seen, an extremely gracious man and a great leader of our school. Second, was not thier when this decision was made, i've had my own dislikes of certian school board members, and yes perhapsthey are still living in the 60's, but what can our Superintendent or Coaches do about this? Nothing. If you wanted to turn this into a shaming Crosby thing i find that hard to believe, i went to Crosby and know thier are "some" bigots, but the majority of us are good people who are completely ok with going to vidor or whatever.
