  1. What are we even going to look like without Yarbrough next year. I do not mean to say we cannot be good without him but he was literally the entire offense last year.

I would hope we might develop a little more diverse offense this offseason but pretty worried about my Alma Mater coming into the year.

Have either of the QB's developed into the clear #1, and receivers developed or broke out in spring ball?

Just a displaced cougar wondering about the ball team.

With ADM's having been released on TEA site taken last fall between UIL accounting years, it looks like both Richmond Randle from 5A-D2, the state champion, and Dulles dropping down  from 6A will have to find a new home in 5A-D1. What district gets them? Dulles this year had 2165 and Randle 1966 and growing fast. Other Adm's for 5AD1 in region 3 follow:

    9-5AD1:  Baytown Sterling 2150  B. United 2035  B. West Brook 2213  Galveston Ball 1905  Lufkin 2026  Barbers Hill 2222 P.A. Memorial 2140

    10-5AD1  Galena Park 1815  H. Austin 1181  H. Madison 1588  H. Milby 2126  H. Sharpstown 1689  H. Waldrip 1615  H.Westbury  2263  H. Spring Woods 2020

    11-5AD1:  Angleton 2025  Crosby 2148  FB Kempner 1850  Friendswood 2014  Kwood Park 1884  La Porte 2090  NC Porter 2094  Pasadena 2217

    12-5AD1:   A. Anderson 2223  Bastrop Ceder Creek 2144  Buda Hays 2304  College Station 2226  CS A & M Cons 2166  Kyle Lehman 2128  Lockhart 2006  PF. Hendrickson 2128  Pf.Weiss 1985

Crosby gets pushed to 9-5a and they both get added to 11-5a.

Creates 8 and 9 team district

making every district 8 or 9

He is saying that Randle is masquerading as a 6A team. I disagree.

I could see if Randle only had 2 or 3 classes (no senior class) and not all 4. Then one could say they actually have a potential enrollment of a 6A. But that is not the case. Randle has been open for 3 years and has all 4 classes.

At the time that they were put into 5AD1 they did not have a senior class yet at the school. This is the first senior class of Randal which means that every Freshman at the school this year was not counted during reclassification last year. At next realignment they will have all 4 they only had 3 at the last relaignment

No. Cedar Park is similar to Lake Travis. A fairly high income community. Most of the suburbs west & north of Austin are above average income. Think Woodlands and Houston.

Barbers Hill-income wise—is similar to Lake Travis & Cedar Park. But, the communities are very different after that. Activities, scenery, shopping, culture, restaurants. etc. are way more abundant in Austin suburbs. You can walk or bike to almost anything you want to do. If used to that, Mt. Belvieu isn’t even comparable.

Demographics wise, all are close. Each suburb has areas that are higher end. Steiner Ranch for example (Vandegrift) is in the 1.5+ neighborhood as far as housing.

In Westlake, that would be bottom rung.

Pretty sure it was a bait about the Crosby Coach but that's a great rundown.

The coaches at Crosby are well respected in the coaching community. The forum peanut gallery, not so much.

Who cares? The coaching communities opinions won't be what's heard at board meetings and won't be the ones applying pressure to the administration, at the end of the day if this continues he won't have a job no matter what the other coaches think of him. Being an AD in Texas is as much a political job as a football one. Winning cures all, excuses for losing does not. The disregard for the community and it's parents is appalling and any attempt to justify that is absurd even from someone who has as poor of takes as you do consistently.

How coaches feel about another coach has hardly ever saved a coaches job and comments like this have upset people (that previously weren't upset.)

It's funny because I'll get text about the program out of the blue and am pretty distanced from the program at this point and the stuff being said to parents is trashy.

  6. According to our coaching staff that like to call out fans on X the reason Crosby is not successful for the past two years is because we are under resourced with too many expectations. Apparently winning seasons and beating 5a-d2 opponents that we have crushed previously and competing with the exact same schools we've been playing with for the last 5 years is too much and we give too little to the program.

Coaching staffs note this is how you lose your fan base in a weekend this is the talk of the town, that next school board meeting is going to be lively.

The odd thing about that game is it was held in San Antonio's Alamo Dome because there was a threat of freezing wet weather in the forecast and I guess they could not get NRG.

NRG had a period there where they weren't hosting because they were the UIL State Championship site while Jerry World was being built.

Just was curious. I know when LP has gone outside of their ‘coaching tree’ in the past, it’s been a disaster every time. (The successful coaches all spring from Carroll Lundin as the starting point.) Bringing in Mills (Sealy) years ago—because of his multiple championship resume—was a bust. Maybe the biggest.

When LP stays with the people that have/have had experience with the history and culture of La Porte, they’ve seemed to do well. They all have had somewhat similar schemes as well. As y’all mention the type players Crosby produces, La Porte tends to grow LB/RB type players with just enough big boys for the lines. So, the play style they use works for them.

    Interesting how that works.

We don't have that but Rio + Prieto were both wide open offenses. I honestly think this team would have been best in the Rio system because of how hard it would be to play against a team with Yarborough at RB but you have to worry about the 17 variations of quick screen game that the wide receivers' run, think it would have slowed down teams being able to run blitz because of the real risk of it being a true screen.

Like imagine if we actually knew how to run the RPO game we tried to run against LP.

But look for P did with that title game team, the amount of d1 talent on the field this year was greater than that year, that being said we did not have the QB play we had that year and that's a huge deal.

Do y’all think moving up in classification has had any impact? I noticed departures and sub .500 records began about the time y’all moved up to D1.

TBF 3 years ago we were the literal smallest school in 5AD1 population needs time to adjust. I just think we would have been a lot closer to Angleton this year if we had either of the last two coaching staffs. That being said we weren't going to compete with LP this year this might be yalls year.

Along with other long time firsts during the two years of the Willis era, today will see some more. For the first time that I can remember in Crosby's history they will sign four FBS players in one class. Josiah Jones and Copelin Windfont will sign with UTEP, Nate O'Fleherty will sign with Air Force and Wesley Yarbrough will sign with Arizona. AJ Johnson is committed to TAMU-Kingsville while Keenan Bradley and Malik Windfont will also sign solid scholarships in February. Mix in the junior class which probably has five NCAA signees and the '27 class that may have as many as ten and it's hard to see how Willis can finish 5-6. This is the first time in 20 years that Crosby has had back to back sub .500 seasons. Keep in mind that Jerry Prieto only had ONE D1 signee during his entire tenure in Crosby and it's head-scratching to say the least. Hopefully we get something figured out before Willis wastes the next couple of years of this '27 class which has more individual talent that even the '14 class with the Walter twins and Singleton.

Maybe he gets an OC that will run a true spread system and he can be CEO instead of trying to be both the OC, HC and AD.

Most Disrespected District????? Angleton and LP are obviously great! rest of the district was sub 500.

Less to do with these two more to do with the trash talk by fans of that Bryan district and of our friendly neighborhood district that both just got knocked out the playoffs by these two.
