Stop me if you can football?  They haven't been very successful at that brand of football this year have they?  WOS has won this year, like in years past with defense.  Their offense has little to do with their success, matter of fact, it usually hinders their success.   Unless they have shored up their offensive line, their offensive philosophy needs to be "we'll block you if we can." Putting up big numbers against Hampshire, and Orangefield is hardly a referendum on how good the WOS offense is.  I'll be surprised if they score 28 tonight against Coldspring.

Good luck to the Bruins.  I need a reason to go to Houston next weekend and watch some football. Next week in the DFW area is shaping up to be a good one.  Possible triple header in the new Cowboys Stadium. SLC vs. Allen Cedar Hill vs. FM Marcus Skyline vs. Desoto I would hate to renig on my promise to yall, but if this becomes a reality I might have to.

Riot, you need to come back to the real world, instead of living in your WOS dream world. I seriously doubt your backup, freshman QB is good enough to start for "most other teams in the state," as you put it.  He's good enough to start at other places but is a backup at WOS, LMAO.  I know most of you WOS posters are unrealistic homers, but this trumps all other posts I've seen..  I wouldn't bet him playing tonight either, unless someone goes down with an injury.  This will not be an easy game for WOS, and I have my doubts they will win. Does Salter play basketball too?  He may need to bring out the hightops tomorrow morning.

Who were they practicing against?  Their JV, or Orangefield? I bet Coldspring looked just as good in their practices against their JV too. Good measuring stick!

Kirbyville played the best game in the history of their program?  ROFL! Fortunately for Arp, Kirbyville played an extremely sloppy game last year, yet still won.  Kirbyville was easily 3 TD's better than Arp was, but gave Arp every opportunity to stay in the game.  For a team that has played absolutely no one this year, the Arp Tigers sure are confident.  Lets hope hope that the Kirbyville staff don't get their hands on the West Rusk game film.  The Raiders exposed Tiger weaknesses that the Wildcats will exploit bigtime.

Wrong, I rode the short bus to school.  Thats why I'm ready to confess my love for the Bruins.  Before long the will ready to compete with the Texas Longhorns.  See, I'm being realistic now.  According to you.

Thanks for the invite robocop. I plan on being in Klein Saturday watching the Lufkin game at 1:30 and The Woodlands game at 6:00.  Good luck to your Bruins though. If they beat Deer Park I will travel to see them play Hightower though. 

Coldspring is similar to Kirbyville, and I think the game will be similar also. Coldspring in the upset of the week.

I hope that Memorial will win, and I think it will be a close game, but I think that Harrison will choke.  I can't see this guy winning much in the playoffs, ever.

I was wrong about West Brook, they are good.  Beating North Shore proved that.  Until the North Shore win, they hadn't beat anyone worth speaking of.  While the Brook maybe good, I think they could lose to anyone, at anytime.  They are not a team that is just going to show up and win.  They will have to play their best ball every week from here on out.  They are not GOOD enough to not play at their highest level and expect to win.  I would compare West Brook to PNG, good, but it wouldn't surprise me for either team to get beat at any time.  I think the Deer Park game is a toss up.  Why should I think otherwise?  I guess because I live in southeast Texas I should believe they will roll Deer Park, hardly.  I will continue to pick against them.  They are young and I expect them to have a let down shortly.  I do think that next year, West Brook will be able to compete against anyone in the state.  You can call it pathetic if you want, thats fine.  I'll call you disappointed Sunday morning.

No, my prediction is that they won't get past the 1st round.  I think its a forgone conclusion they won't win state.  Sorry I wasn't more clear in my prediction, but I thought you would be able to get the message.

I'll give West Brook a fighting chance, but I don't think they will win.  Although they have gotten better week by week, I think their inexperience will catch up to them sooner or later.  They are still a young team. I would like their chances better in the D2 bracket, the region 3 D1 bracket is pretty solid this year. Obviously West Brook is better than I thought, but I'm still not sold on them.  Eventually I will be right  :D. If the kid they have at QB was the QB last year, West Brook would have been much better off.  I can't say the same thing for his pops, but the kid is a good player and a winner.  His old man, is just that, old, and a little weak between the ears.

congrats to West Brook, you proved me wrong.  I don't know what is more embarassing, admitting your own stupidity on this message board, or North Shore's play since the SLC game.  I have underestimated Brook and overestimated North Shore. I didn't find out till last night who won.  I was at the deer lease and my only option for a news source was the Sherveport Times or Nacadoches Daily Sentinel.  Needless to say, the Nacadoches newspaper didn't have the score.  I was impressed by how West Brook came from behind against a solid defense.  I will say this, I think West Brook is a year away from being legit state title contenders.  I think next year WEst Brook will be very hard to beat, and I think they have proved they are a better TEAM this year than last.  This year, bunch of overachievers playing together, last year, a buch of big-name primadonnas worried about their college careers. Again, congrats to West Brook and good luck in the playoffs.  For your continued luck, I will continue to pick against you  ;D.

Hater?  :'(  That hurts my feelings.  While your at it, you can also call me realistic.  I'm just being honest, keeping things in perspective for you West Brook homers.  I guarantee I have seen much more football than what most of you Brook "dreamers" have seen this year.  I travel a good bit on Friday nights watching whom I want, from Katy to Lufkin.  I know a good team, and a true contender when I see one.  There ain't one of those teams on the westend of Beaumont.  You can take consolation in the fact that you have gotten better every week, and you are better than most people thought you would have been. I'll be the first person to get on here eating crow if somehow you find a way to finally beat a decent ball team.  For your sake, I hope I'm wrong, but I forsee a two game losing streak to close out the season for the cubbies.

I won't be near as mad and dejected as you will be Saturday morning, when your little dream world is crashing all around you.  I don't follow Lumberton much anymore since my son has graduated.  I just like to watch HS football and be honest. When my son did play, I tried not to live my life through him, or his athletic accomplishments.  Give that a try for a while.  As much as you like to boast and take credit for the success, get back on here Saturday morning, playing your usual Saturday morning QB and tell us what happened to lil ol Brook.  I know my son doesn't star for the best 5A team in Beaumont, so I don't know what I'm talking about.  Carry on, making a fool of yourself every chance you get, ok captain.

I wish I could agree with you GOAT, and say that PAM's win over North Shore was the real deal, and because of Memorial's quality of a ballclub.  For a few weeks I was almost convinced that Memorial was for "real", but their play the last few weeks has blown a hole in that theory.  You don't beat a quality team like North Shore, in a typhoon, then struggle with West Brook and Channelview, and expect the NS win to called a referendum on how good Memorial is.  I sure hope not.  If anything, it goes to show you that it was the perfect storm that night, figuritively and literally.

What are the 3A numbers going to be?  Its hard to believe that LaMarque might be 3A.  In 2007 they turned in 1128 students.  The LaMarque school enrollment is dropping faster than the WOS enrollment.  Must be a teastament of the quality of education, or lack thereof.

I was also pulling for NS when I drove to Rhodes Stadum at the end of August to watch them play Katy.  I came away from that game thinking they were pretty good, and a fluke loss to PAM in a typhoon didn't do anything to change my mind.  I have also seen WB play this year against a very undisciplined IKE team and agian against a outmanned Channelview squad.  WB is a good ball team, but not on par with a North Shore.  They have a chance to prove me wrong Friday night though.  If North Shore beats them, like I think they will, you won't see me on here saying, "I told you so"  because its not gonna be a surprise at all to me.  Two different progams, on entirely two different levels.  North Shore is the program the Brook wants to be.

They had over 1100 kids two years ago, if they lose enough numbers to drop to 3A, that would explain alot of their problems.

Which would sound more insane?  Me saying WB will end up 6-4, or being a WB homer saying that WB is the best team around.  WB has had a surprisingly good year, but you have to beat more than the Beaumont 4A's, Baytown's, PAM, and Channelview's to be great. Just trying to keep it real.  Sorry to burst your bubbles.

Why don't you clarify the statement WB is going to make?  WB has exceeded most people's expectations, good for them.  I have a feeling though on Friday, they will end up 6-4.  What is wrong with that?  If you think they are better than North Shore, then I guess we will have to agree to disagree.  Its not even close.   Friday will tell the truth.

From everything I've heard in the past 6-7 years is that LaMarque not only has major race relations issues, but they have a group of well-known businessmen/alumni that sit around stirring the pot.  They don't let the coaches do their jobs, instead they go around constantly second guessing everything, starting rumors, and turning the kids against the coaches are trying to do.  Its politics at its worst.   LaMarque was spoiled in the 90's under Waddell and Walker, and expect every season to be an undefeated season and a state championship season.  Its not gonna happen.  New coaches should be given their due time (3-4 years) to implement their system, and one bad season shouldn't kick them out of town.  In this case I know its been 2 seasons, but go back and look at the last few coaches.  If I remember correctly, one guy was hired in the winter or spring and left before his first football season there because crap is so bad. Like I said, with the politics going on, and the unreasonable expectations, who would want that job.

Thats not to surprising.  How many head coaches will that make for them in the past 8 years?  They have lots more problems going on in LaMarque than wins/losses.  I don't know who would want to take that job.
