That rivalry goes back to like 1921 and had been playing non-stop from 1946 to 2011!

Since 2007 the Tigers and Hawks have played 14 games with Silsbee owning a 11-3 record over HJ. The Tigers sweep last years games  while the Hawks last win was in 2012 a 7-5 score. The Tigers Have won 9 of the last 10 meetings. Go Tigers!!!

Bridge City player Ashton Hunter got ejected for arguing with the ump over strikes and balls after he got rung up on a called third strike that he did not like then threw his helmet. A few innings earlier in the game another Bridge City player came close to being ejected because of the same thing. The ump was not on a power trip. Why is that the first thing people say when a player gets ejected.

Buna is a good team, period. They are solid and steady, nothing flashy, just blue collar guys who play hard and limit mistakes. They will be right in the middle of the district title chase. As far as saying "Silsbee has not lived up to the hype" I'd have to disagree. Take a look at the schedule these guys have played, it's basically been a "Pre district state tournament". Caldwell, China Spring, Diboll, plus several good 4A teams, that's a tall order for anybody. While other teams beat up on hapless nobodies the Tigers went out and scheduled a NASTY string of opponents to prepare for district and beyond. Real baseball people know the Tigers are for real and will certainly have a say in who wins 21-3A.

Silly question. Most are, or try to be, power pitchers with workable offspeed stuff. A few have legit breaking ball or change up. The seven behind the pitcher play a big part, allowing him to pitch to contact, instead of overpower a hitter. This helps the pitcher last longer, in the game and the season. But the biggest asset to a pitcher, and the one who can make a good pitcher look great, and a great pitcher look not so good is the one behind the plate.    
The set up, glove movement after a catch, framing, and even the catchers demeaner can open up or shrink the strike zone.

Someone needs to get their stuff together!!! How many times is the schedule going to get revised?

Silsbee Tiger Baseball broadcasts on SETXsports and Legacy Sports Network will start this Tuesday with Silsbee's home game against Woodville. We will then pick them back up next week when district starts on Tuesday with the Tiger's game against Orangefield.

Them Silsbee coaches where on the field as soon as the sun popped up this morning getting it ready after last nights rain. Hopefully a full slate of games today!

In a rematch of 2013 Regional Finals, two top rank 3A teams square off in the season opener. The 3A #4 Silsbee Tigers will travel to Diboll to take on the 3A #15 Diboll Lumberjacks. The JV start at 4:30 and Varsity will start shortly there after. Starting the season off with a BANG! Go Tigers!!!

This is what happens when the aggies start thinking they could win a NC. Everything goes to hell.
