When was the last time Silsbee had a QB that was threat to take off for a big play? Yeah, we're importing one in from West Brook next week, but I don't know how much he'll do this year.

Used to be unheard of for Silsbee to have slow, unathletic QBs that just sit back in the pocket. Be nice to have that threat again for opposing defenses to worry about.

Jacob Collins, 2017-2018. Ole lefty. He was a LB with a QB arm. Could make every kind of throw with accuracy and a punishing runner, hard to bring down. One of the best under Smith.

Speaking of PNG, this is interesting for anyone who wants a nostalgia trip.

I don't specifically remember the year or score, but I know Silsbee won the first game I attended against Jasper. The game ended in a tie, but Silsbee got the win for some reason. I know it was a very low scoring game. Randy Matthews was QB that year.

Games over off 7th street were crazy. Even if you didn't go and lived on 2nd street or something, you could hear nearly everything if you opened your door, and sometimes you didn't need to do that. Bet a lot of the people who lived even closer were glad when the games moved.

If you are talking about the game in Jasper, The Silsbee/Jasper game was a great hard hitting game that year. Both defenses could play some ball. It ended in a tie and the rule was to go to penetration (how many times each team got inside their opponents twenty yard line) each team had two, then it went to first downs and the Tigers had way more than the Bulldogs Silsbee 12/Jasper 4. Both teams were co-district champions but Silsbee was the #1 seed because of the tie breaker.

  3. I can't wait to see this Jasper defense. Heard it was pretty dang good. Going to be a tough test for Silsbee offense. Hoping both teams will be better for it after the game. If we come out with a mindset like we had against HF, I like our chances very much. If we come out with a mindset like we had against WOS, it will be a little more difficult, TigerNation!!!

For outsiders who are not aware during the time span mentioned  there has been the infamous " cheap shot: on our starting qb in a game we were winning til that point,  a game that is known as 20>14 , a couple of seasons we didn't play actually 3, and of course last year's bounce pass(and yes I am talking football not basketball when I say bounce pass) so.......anywho.

    Jasper, always with their excuses

It wasn't a late hit but it was unnecessary roughness and should have been flagged for a personal foul.

It also was a cheap shot and no one should dispute that fact.

No, it wasn’t a late hit. Unnecessary roughness/personal foul? Cheap shot, yes.
