at some point, the "we are young" reason has to fly out the window and players need to start playing... I spent alot of time at Kelly and hate to see the success that was achieved over the past 7-8 years crumble.. People will be quick to throw the coaches under the bus.... but... "It is more about the Larry and Joe's than the X's and O's!"

maybe the studs are all that.... If a stud is not in shape to be all that due to playing both ways... then sometimes by the 3rd and 4th quarter the backup and 3rd team guys are just as good if not better, because they are fresh...

Great defensive gameby the hawks tonight and the kids executed it pretty darn well... # 27 from EC is special!!!!!...broke a long run, but the hawks had 4 or 5 players hitting him all night long... To those calling it an upset... i will say this.... there was not a kid in the HJ locker room that viewed it as an upset.  These kids expect to win! So glad to see HJ get the homecoming win!  Our thoughts are with the injured kid from EC... It was one HECK of a hit he took...

was 1-1.... played about 35 plays of o an d then a live quarter... hj d looked much improved... offense started shaky, but looked good at times...

The pot shots that some are taking at Coach Davis are ridiculous!  Can't you just come on here and say congrats coach for having a district record of 30-0 in 3 years (2 time district coach of the year).  An overall record that most other programs would take in a heartbeat (against a pretty tough schedule might I add) There are many factors that come into play in the playoffs.  Injuries, sickness, foul trouble, etc. bobbymcgee.... come on really??? I saw Coach Davis work everyday and feel honored to have been her assistant for the past 3 seasons.  There are not many other coaches in the state that have the planning, preparation, professionalism, and genuine care for the athletes best interests that Coach Davis does... Congrats on a great 3 years!!!  Good luck in your new endeavor!

I think if Kountze played error free ball last night, Buna still would have won.  They hit the ball all over the place and the freshman pitcher from Buna had it going all night.  (He had a spell during one inning where he walked a few, though.

Just got word that tomorrow is rained out as well.

Jasper 4-3 over Vidor.  Jasper scored in the bottom of the 7th to win.  Good game by 2 good teams.

I think the superlatives were right on the money... Ciara was very deserving of MVP.....

This is actually the 2nd year in a row.... He has a little girl now... It is AMAZING to see the change that this young man has gone through...  For someone who was "never going to set foot on UT's campus"... he may be one of the few talented players that UT has had in the past 10 years who actually follows through on the scholarship deal and stays for all 4 years and gets a degree! Way to go J'Covan!

HJ will take on Giddings with the winner advancing to the Regional Tournament. 6:30 pm Tuesday Feb 21st Tomball High School

attacking the basket usually has alot to do with it... OF usually relies on cutting and passing to move the ball, while giddings uses the drive (and goes inside frequently)  While the style is uptempo, teams that attack with the ball instead of without usually benefit in these type of games foul count wise.... That being said..... good job OF on a good season... I know it was not as good as what you guys wanted, but great effort by the players and Coach Jost and staff....
