The scores didn't reflect the games, all of the games were well played and fought hard. Thanks for a good day of Football.
We feel the same. I can't wait till we play again in a few weeks. It should be a really good game. Sorry we didnt get a chance to clean up after the down pour came. What I noticed, was even after hard hit after hard it, both teams would help each other up. Says a lot about the kids and the coaches. Thank you.
I can't wait until some of these kids who were the "recipient" of daddy-ball in LL get up to the high school level and can't figure out why on earth they're sitting the bench since they started their whole lives.
I think it will be more of the Parents in wonder why my baby isn't starting. "My son has a life time batting Average of 600" LOL  ..... Then I can see it now.....  Special Meeting with the school board cause the Coach is playin politics or whatever that YouTube video said. ;D
 4. Putting everything a side, there is no doubt that this AD topic has divided this community. Which in itself is not a goo thing.
 5.
Sorry i offended you Juan.
Buna... It did offended me cause I have not bashed any organization on here or anywhere else. Most imporyantly I'm impressed that you said your sorry and I honestly accept your apology. Now let's move on and solve another of the Worlds Problems on here!!! ;D ;D
 6.
Juan Gonzales's other screen name.
I don't hide behind a screen name unlike others.
 7. Bunabase wasn't really looking for umpires. He was sneaking around trying to find out who screen names for people and he's gone me confused with 2son. So immature and so so little life to send out random email trying to find out who coaches a 11 yr team. LOSER!!!!!!!  LOL.
 8.
I'm not bashing anyone on here, but how about just playing baseball. Who cares if a kid 9 is playing with 8's or all of these other issues. I know it's breaking rules, but in the grand scheme of things just play baseball. Too many people getting caught up in all of the other stuff. When I was contacted by both organizations, I told them my kids just want to play baseball. I don't care about USSSA or Nations. For me and my team, as long as the kids are having fun and getting better, that's all I care about. With that said, when I seen the open tournament for this past weekend, I felt that my team wasn't ready to play other teams two levels above them and pulled my team out weeks ago. Good luck to everyone this baseball season!
WOW!!!!!! You don't care that an 9 yr old plays against an 8 yr old team, I had to pick myself off the Floor. Yea, let's not get all caught up on the "Rules", rules are for whimps. But, that kind of additude is expected from you after your "strategic Drafting" comments. Each time you comment I see a little piece of your heart. Can't wait to play your Team...... I'll make sure and add a 12 yr old to pitch against you since you don't care about the rules and just want your son to play ball..........
 9. Strategic Drafting is Code word for reverse stacking. And Sir, stacking is illegal. So if your doing it for the kids, then PNG is stacking teams by their own admissions and therefore should be handed like it was when PA was caught stacking their team. Let's be fair and do it for the kids, and remove PNG from STJFL. I'm only saying this cause I care for ALL kids not just the ones that are on my son's team.
 10. You know what IceWater..... In my heart your on the mark. But I'm just waiting on all those to jump on the bandwagon and agree with you but then turn right around and strateically draft all the young kids this year and go winless for the great hope to be like IceWater and have a Superbowl trophy collecting dust the following year. My kids haven't won a football game in 2 years because thier coach haven't had the option to strategically draft. How do you think a kids feels when they go 0-8. Ask my kids. But at least that PNG coach can tell them, Son, We have to pay our dues for Coach to get his next year, toughen up kid!

BCLL does a great job of scheduling games during the week,so that it doesn't clash with weekend tourneys...we did play at another LL in Orange County that didn't care to make it work, and have lost alot of good players because of it. Select or league?....IMO it boils down to the kid,and how serious they are about the game, and at the end of the day its our job as parents to recognize if we're putting them in a position to be successful,or burning them out....But in some cases, I think Little league is ruining Little league
???  This will be the second year that OYBS will have no Saturday games.

I don't know what is causing it, but go ask the orthopedic docs around here and they will tell you that they are seeing more serious arm injuries in young kids than ever before.
Pitching is an unnatural act. You are going to have injuries regardless of what you do. Almost everyone who has played baseball for a significant amount of time is going to have shoulder damage. Now I would say the increase of army injures among children is due to a couple of different things. One is they simply don't rest or recover properly. Its fine if you want to play 80+ games a year, but you can't have your star pitcher start a game and then go out and play a position. You have to give your arm time to recover. Two would be throwing breaking pitches wrong. If you don't throw sliders or curveballs properly you are going to get injured. Third would be the pitchers body is just not conditioned enough. Core and leg work are important, but by strengthening the small muscles in the shoulder with workouts you can do at home you will greatly reduce the risk of injury.
When I played, the only people having Tommy John surgery were professional players.  Now its common place for kids as young as 13 to get the surgery.  The amount of arm injuries now is ridiculous compared to just 10 or 15 years ago.  I guess that has nothing to do with increased workload.  ::) I was a catcher my whole life and have had 3 knee surgeries because of it.  I also have a problem with a kid catching 6 or 7 games in a weekend.  That happens a lot in select especially at younger ages.  Everyone counts pitches but most don't realize the wear and tear on a catchers knees.  I'm not trying to bash select or say it is bad to play that many games at a young age.  My whole point is to protect your kids.  Your kids future isn't worth some trophy.  Hopefully, your kids coaches are great and are concerned with their health first and foremost.  Just be careful.
I have been around alot of youth baseball for the last 7 years and I have not heard of 1 case of a 13 year old having Tommy John surgery.  To say that it is common is just plain unresponsible and untrue.
As my kids would say.... You got served. LOL.

 16.

I think like all activities, as parents we'll never know if it's was "Worth" it until our kids grow up and we are told by our kids if it was worth it.
Dang Bobcat! Thats too late. By that time they are either mad at us or happy ;D
That's my whole point. My best Friend that "thought" is daughter LOVED basketball only to find out that his daughter only played because she thought that was he wanted. He coached her to 2 National Championships in Little Dribblers and multipal finials between 7-12.  So at the end of HS, she had a full ride to UH, Baylor and UT but never wanted to see a basketball again in her life. If you think it can't happen to you, it might not but it happen it to him. Just a thought about if select is worth it.

 18.
If you're playing true top players, you better have location or you will be exposed. Plain and simple.
Bingo!!!!  20 points....
 19.
Great point. But Ultimaly is up to the Parent...  Now way in heck my kids will more than 100 pitches in a weekend. Period..... Parents who let their kids (under 16) throw 100+ pitches and curve balls are idiots. No exceptions.
You are right, its up to the parent but I can tell you that if a select/Elite.Premier PITCHER 16 & Under or example my boy being 11u doesnt have a max of 3/4 pitches he will not make it as a top pitcher. My son has 4 pitches and his curve ball is the KILL shot. I always keep track of his pitches though, never gets close to 65.
So I have to completely disagree. No junk balls until 16 or 17. I feel like a kid should be taught ball placement / control vs junk balls. Any "Professionals" like to elaborate on this critical topic. I feel like pitching is the main area LL complains about.
 20.
The new fad that I've observed lately is lilltle leagues creating teams comprising kids from one league. The idea is to have the kids gel before all-stars and gives them a head start on practices. The only problem that I see with the younger kids 12 and under group is if kids are playing a 16 game little league schedule and then playing another 20 to 30 game select schedule is eventually the kids will get burned out. I don't think it's in the best interest of the kids that pitch either. It's hard for me to believe that these young kids aren't going to have some type of arm problems after throwing over 150 pitches in a five day period. Here's an example, top pitcher on a little league team and he is placed on a select team. He pitches 75 pitches Friday night for little league and then another 75 pitches during the weekend select tournament. This kid will probably pitch towards the end of that next week putting him around 220 pitches in a 7 day period. I think there should be some type of rule that if a select team under 12 years old plays one weekend that they aren't allowed to play until the third weekend. That gives select teams two weekends to play per month. That may not be the answer, but something along those lines. We've been involved in select for a while at the younger age and I'm kind os scratchiing my head why we've spent the money we have so far. Select is so watered down now, that depending on what tournament and teams that are playing, it's not that much more then little league IMO.
Great point. But Ultimaly is up to the Parent...  Now way in hell my kids will more than 100 pitches in a weekend. Period..... Parents who let their kids (under 16) throw 100+ pitches and curve balls are idiots. No exceptions.
 21. That's great that both if y'all are giving kids a chance to play. I guess we'll see y'all out on the field one day.
 22. I figured it was going to be cold. Looking forward to some good baseball weather. I hope the USSSA tourney in Feb has a good turn out. Looking forward to playing some local team. BTW, what te does your son play for NDN Nation???
 23. So how was that Toys for Tots this weekend.
 24. That Toys for Tots Tournament, is that Nations or USSSA?
 25.
I agree, all wood. Or, for heaven's sake, USSSA, Nations, Pony, Little League, etc. all need to sit down and come up with 1 set of bat rules. Right now, it's ALL about the $$$$$$.
That would be a great ideal, but then someone have to say whether or not Ash bats are allowed, vs Maple or Oak or Peacan, Pine or Mesquite.... Or maybe a sythetic wood bat is gonna be available.
