Mr. Ump will probably confirm this, but the new NFHS rule is that the game must be suspended for 30 minutes from seeing lightning or hearing thunder. Each successive occurrence results in resetting the 30 minute clock. Not supposed to rely on lightning detectors anymore. Teams are supposed to leave the field...not really supposed to even be in the dugout. I guess the bus is where is the NFHS wants them to go.

It looks like it will, but my hope is that it holds off till around 10pm or so. That we can get our games in tonight. Maybe the smart coaches have the fields tarped right now.
We do need the rain, but it needs to come on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Sundays for the next couple of months. -

Now that makes a lot more sense that what I had heard. Heck...the teams should just turn it into a double header and safe on umpire travel and team travel money.

Did something change. I heard they are now playing at home on Tuesday against Channelview. I thought they played home and away with sterling this week.

Preston Warner from Kelly is the best I have seen this year. Lance Brown from Silsbee is a close #2.
I have not seen the kid from Crosby. -
IMHO Hemphill is the best team on these lists. I have almost all of these teams play this year. Evadale is also good. They would beat just about every 2A team in the area. That is saying a lot for a 1A team.

Jasper has to be higher than 15. Hudson would be a ranked team if they were in SETX. Losing to them is not a bad loss. Jasper and Hudson will fight it out for the district crown the rest of the season.

He threw 100 pitches on Tuesday night. Most HS pitchers don't throw on both Tuesdays and Fridays in district. Sounds like he will be Jasper's Tuesday guy.

If Kirbyville throws their #1 and he is on it will be a good game. He is hard to hit.

The only two games today are Ozen v Kirbyville and HF v Evadale not sure on times

Hemphill also strummed Center...can't remember the score, but I think they put up almost 20.
Not too bad taking down two 3A teams in one day. -
If the score is really 17-5 after 5 the game should be over.

The schedule was changed because some teams wanted to save a little for the start of district next week. The game that was canceled was the Vidor v. WOS game that was to kick the day off Friday. Everything else just basically moved up a slot.
No big deal, just trying to make sure everyone knows what times the games are so that you can show up when your team is playing. -

I don't know how other districts do it, but the past two years that same district has started the Tuesday of the 3rd tournament weekend. Which is what it did this year.
I would have thought they could have held off till Tuesday of next week due to having only 7 teams, but I am sure there is a reason. It also gives them time to make up rainouts at the end of the season and to play tie breaker games. -
It was a district game. Do to the odd number of teams in the district they are starting it at the same time as when it was an eight team district, but each team will get a couple of "off" nights on the district schedule. Most teams scheduled games on those days as well. Kind of a weird deal, but I guess it is only for two years and then they will re-district again.
K'Ville has a great shot at making the playoffs in its first year back in 3A. Hudson and Jasper should fight for the district crown, but the wildcats have the pitching to beat anyone and could easily make it a three team race. Not sure what Central and Diboll have, but Center and Huntington appear to be rebuilding this year.
