That is crazy. It has to be hard on the boys. Jasper's program will do fine, but this is one of the better jobs at a 3A school in Texas. The baseball program has so much support within the community and from the sounds of they have a lot of talent coming up in the next several years. Whoever gets the permanent gig next year should have a good future in Jasper.
It is great that Coach Smith gets a chance to run the show for a year. Good luck. -
There is also a new NCAA rule (Rules that Texas HS use) this year that says a player must sit out a play if his helmet comes off during a play (unless it was caused by penalty....another player pulling it off).
I like this rule because it is going to encourage players to have their helmets fit properly. -
Gonna be a tough series for warren. Elkhart is a beast this year.

How is jasper playing Thursday. I thought because of testing no one could start a series until friday this week.

Kevin Lane went to Jasper to be Assistant Baseball Coach with longtime friend and former Coaches at Woodville together Shawn Mixon. It was time for a change for him good move for both coaches. Kirbyville will miss Lane in Football as well as Baseball. Wow what a staff the new Head coach at Jasper has assembled.

Who is Lane replacing in Jasper? They seemed set with coach Smith as the assistant Varsity coach and coach Trevinio handling the JV. Can't see him being the sophomore coach. -

Several series down here have done this. CH must like it that way becauase they did it last week as well. Save a little travel money as well.

Not state ranked, but they beat a highly state ranked team in Huffman in two games this weekend. -
