Teams like WOS, PNG, and Nederland deserve the right to brag because they have winning programs. YOU DO NOT !

Apparently they don't need a great coach because they have never lost a game in pee wee, 7th, 8th, 9th, and jv. Thats what we keep hearing so we are expecting ALOT !

Well district starts next week so you can start bragging after you guys make the playoffs.............until then, I'm tired of hearing about it !

Yes I agree, silver and black is very intimidating and now is the time since they are playing so well. Baby blue and red just looks like a cheerleader school and just makes you want to shake a pom pom !

Great facilities at the new high school also. It's too bad the football field is not ready yet. This school is going to grow and get even better. Oh yes, don't they play Newton this year ???????

Kirbyville wins this one. Anyone heard about a new kid (runningback) that will be eligible this week for kirbyville ? I heard that nobody can catch him or tackle him at practice. I don't know his name.......... anyone ? Oh, they win with or without this kid !

Vidor has a new asst. baseball coach? Former Lamar 2nd baseman Jeremy Gray. Maybe they can DH him every now and then !

Sorry but nobody will beat WOS in district ! They make another run at STATE ! You want to know why ? A veteran coaching staff with kids that work their tails off every day at practice because thats what the coaches demand. Ever wonder why there is only about 20 something kids on their varsity squad ? Not because they are 3A now, heck they had the same number of kids on the sideline when they were 5A. Yes they have some speed but they are not blessed with talent like P.A. Memorial is every year. Memorial signs what 6 to 9 D1 players each year and wins how many district games ? There are some outstanding programs in our area, Nederland, PNG, Newton just to mention a few. And I know that they work their kids extremely hard also but I would bet my right arm that they don't out work WOS !

The Bears needed that one. Now they have two weeks to prepare for Bmt. Central. If they can play 4 quarters against Central like they played 2 1/2 quarters against WOS, they can stay in this matchup.

I agree with crushcoach, Can't wait to see those LADY BEARS ! Might even have a few Freshman surprise you.

They are not being overworked, I guarantee it ! They need to be worked harder ! If kids quit, let em go....... If they really want to play and love the game they would never even think about it. You must weed out the weak and find 11 men who want to battle. Like the Marines say, " We are looking for a few good men" That is what it will take to turn that program around !

I also played against Hebert in 78 & 79 . I actually scored 2 td's on them in 79. They were an outstanding group of athletes that would put a hat on you. Very fast and well coached, also the classiest team I have ever played. I also played some college ball on a team that put 6 guys in the NFL. I ran scout team against em and got hit every day but what I witnessed at WOS in 86 & 87 was something special ! Times have changed, kids are much bigger, faster, stronger mostly due to weight training. All you have to is turn on the tv and watch the licks being devivered.

To watch Dan Ray Hooks on the sideline. If you ever get the chance to go down on the field during the game and get close to him you would be amazed & entertained !
