With all this talk about Football coming back, can anyone tell me who was responsible for pulling the plug the first time ? I only remember that it was the worst timing EVER ! The Cards were having one of their best seasons and had only a few games left when the announcement was made. I do support Lamar and would like to see football again...so long as it is handled the right way !

He got his limit of trout by 10:00am (Dec. 29th) and had to come in because his fishing buddy did not feel well.

It was my son who did the damage and he said the birds worked most of the day...he fished all morning till about 2:00pm. He's on the lake again today (29th) and I'm at work !

Fishing is still very hot on lake Sabine as of 12/27/07 Solid trout & reds will jump on most any plastic you can throw. Gulls are everywhere !

Something needs to be done QUICK...if they plan on having a FB program. There have been some competitive teams at LCM throughout the years, but maybe only a couple of dominate teams under coach David Williams in the 90's. To save this program, its going to take a rowdy (old school) type of coach that is not afraid to run off a few players and maybe a few parents too. I would also support closed practices. It's nobodys business what goes on there except the players and coaches. The kids at LCM are good enough to compete in this district and contribute to building a winning program. It's up to the adults to give them the opportunity !

Sabine lake fishing is red hot right now and so is Sabine river. Birds working on both. Keeper fish !

There's no question that you have to throw out the last meeting between these two teams. It does not matter who beat who....... Its the playoffs and both teams are hot right now. But yes, its possible for Lumberton to beat Dayton again.

Sounds like your pretty serious with all the tournament stuff. I prefer artificial bait in the lakes and rivers and live bait offshore. However, I will use live bait anywhere if the other deal ain't workin !

Never fished down there but I still use em against the grassy river banks here on the Sabine. Just gotta find the edge of the grass line so you can pull em in. If its thick and everywhere you gotta have something weedless or a top water and it sounds like you did that. Thats when you gotta have live bait.... I guess? My son has been doing good in the grass with a top water shrimp. It looks sorta like a chug-bug but painted like a marsh shrimp. Bottom line is..... its very frustrating when you know the fish are there but they ain't biting what you got....I think we all have been there !

Did you try the rattle-trap ? There's something about them rattles that drives em wild !

My favorite was and old abu Garcia that my Grandad used to own, probably made in late 60's or early 70s. I could cast it clear across Sabine lake if needed. The newer models are not that great at all. I also have a calcutta that is a peice of crap ! But the curado is a gem.

It sounds like you might have to hit a Cantina near the stadium to get watered & fed. Good luck !

A couple of weeks ago I was taking the family out for a Sunday afternoon boat ride. We got a mile and a half from the new boat ramp in Orange and saw a boat flagging us down in a high traffic area near the port. We pulled up and they were of course, broke down. They said they had been trying to get help for over an hour and nobody would stop. We got em back to the dock and after thanking me several times, one man tried to give me money for towing them back. After I refused, he tossed something in my boat as I was pulling away from the dock. My daughter snatched it up... $40.00 ! I find it hard to believe that some boats actually passed these people right up. This happened a few days after two drownings on Sabine river. I saw three people flagging at me and I was relieved that it was only engine trouble. I know that most boaters would stop and help.......but the others are idiots !

Why is it that some people don't understand how to drive in a boat ? Take away that center stripe and they don't have a clue which side of the river to drive on. I can't tell you how many times I have had boats heading right at me and as I start to veer to my right..........they steer the same direction. What about the dummy who runs his boat right into the middle of working gulls, and then turns the motor off to fish. If you don't have a troll motor......... please shut it down early and drift into the school of fish.
