  1. Ethier Senior Kendall Duvall or Sophmore Ryan Hughes. Both have gotten better and done well in 7 on 7 this summer
  2. my post is on the first page if you would like to read it again plus our JV went 7-2-1 so their will be some qaulity young players from that group also but heres another run down of starters. Offensive Returners Center Kyle Gilliam (6'1 255 5.1 Honorable Mention All-State) Tackle Hunter Howden (6'5 289 5.3 Currently has 6 D-1 Offers and LSU and Oklahoma State are considering offering) Tackle Matt Burkhalter(5'9 240 5.5 Started as a blocking TE last season in the last 4 games and is the Strongest lineman on the team) Tailback Jacob Hanna (6' 215 4.5 soph stats 402yds 4 TDs 7.6ypc Jr Stats 387 yds 8.4ypc 5TDs 3 Kickoffs returned for TDs) Tailback/Fullback Antony Beard (6' 210 4.7 Soph Stats 407yds 6TDs 8.7ypc) WR Taylor Granato (6'1" 160 4.7 was a started until season was ended by Staph Infection before Dayton Game. Led the WR in Cut blocks. best game was against New Caney 2 catches 70 yards 1TD Defensive Returners Kendall Duvall DE (6' 205 4.7, 6 sacks last season best game was against LaMarque) Jacob Hanna DE (6' 215 4.5, 6 sacks last season from DT 49 tackles 20TFL) Mark Murrill NT/LB (6'2" 240 4.85 at the TCU camp. not sure on stats but was a big play maker last season and continues to Develop as an athlete that he might make the move to LB because of depth at the OL/DL Antony Beard MLB (6' 210 4.7 Honorable mention All-State, 1st team Beaumont Super Gold Team, 1st Team all-district as a Sophmore last season. Also started as a Freshman. 110 tackles 14 for loss 4 sacks and 2 INTs. also Schools such as Texas, Alabama, LSU, TCU, and so on have all been by to look at him and has been invited to their summer camps to look at him. Jesse Sparks SS/WR (5'10 175 4.7 was a back up last season as a sophmore but expect big things from him as a SS and WR has alot of ability and plays with aggression
  3. Actually Kyle Gilliam C(6'1" 255 5.1 Honorable mention All-State), Hunter Howden T(6'5" 280 5.3 currently holds 6 D-1 offers and LSU, Oklahoma State are considering offering), and Matt Burkhalter were all starters at some point. Burkhalter played as a blocking TE in our 2 tight set and is the strongest OL on the Team. Seth Cook a Jr. will take PJ Hartts place and Seth (6 250, 5.08) is also a very talented young player. Mark Murrill will also play some Guard and is extremely talented 6'1" 240 4.85 at the TCU camp and Joey Swetland a Jr is also looking very good and is another Young player we are looking to contribute. Taylor Granato was a starter last year at WR until he got Staph infection in his collar bone and missed from the Dayton game on and Jacob Hanna played alot of Tailback and Fullback last season ran for around 400 yards last season and avg over 8 yards per carry. his sophmore season he started against Nederland bc hussy was hurt and ran for 137 yards on 24 carries and had 2 TDs. also returned 3 kicks for TDs last year. Anthony Beard will also play some tailback and had over 400 yards last year 6 TDs and avg over 8 yards per carry. DL wise Duvall DE, Hanna DE, Murrill NT are returning leaving us one spot to fill
  4. most of our OL is back, most of our DL is back. Our best defensive player is back. Hussey's replacments both avged over 8 yards a carry and are bigger and faster than Hussey. but your right Lumberton is gonna be horrible
  5. I'm ready just need the phone call from Coach Woodard. I'm alittle old but hey its whatever
  6. hmmm no he cant currently he holds offers according to rivals from Auburn, Arizona State, Kansas Kentucky and Syracuse. So 5 schools on his list but right now currently Anthony Beard Lumberton, Earl Hines Port Arthur Memorial, Charles Thomas Beaumont Central, and I'm sure plenty others from West Brook, WO-S and other schools are currently being heavly recruited by schools around the Nation also. So I dont think hes on a totally different level than anyone else. also on a side note...Beard and Hines are both class of 2010.
  7. Alabama, Texas, LSU, Tulane, Utah, TCU have all thought Beard was pretty good
  8. I never said they wont but those are questions they will have to answer bc they werent answered last year. Wright did have hemmings line up beside him in the back field and Tatum only had a 42% comp. percentage. Your post needs more facts of why Tatum will shine. Even if your not a team that throws the ball alot you stil need to be able to complete alot more than 42% of your passes to be successful. Not having those 3 WRs and Those 2 TEs is gonna hurt you and not having Hemmings is gonna hurt you. you showed that Wright didnt have a bad season and could do well next year but the fact is PNG lost ALOT of very good players last year. Did I say they were gonna be bad? Did I say they were not gonna make the playoffs? No. I presented you with facts of why they will not be on another level next year from every other team in the district. They are losing alot of good players who were starters and thats a fact jack.
  9. just curious why you think that buc? I think they will be a playoff team but they replace all 11 starters on Defense and on Offense they lose keys players such as Hemmings RB, M. Johnson WR/DB, B. Doty WR/S, D. Barnett WR/DB, K. Tezeno RB/DB, Schexinieder TE/DE, C. Burnett TE/DE, J. Cortez OL. They will return Josh Wright but he was a sidekick to one of the best RB's in the area last year so it is yet to be seen if he can carry the load and Tatum is losing his top 3 WRs, All-dist TE and one of the best RB in the area last year. Not to mention he only had a 42% completion last season and he threw 6 INTs to 7 TDs. They have alot of questions to answer.
  10. Hanna scored 2, Wilson 1, and maybe Freeman 1
  11. I think when Tucker, Uribe, Webb were sophs, Delome was a fresh and they had a decent senior class was probably a better team. atleast more talented. They came in 2nd in district that year spliting with BC who had just moved down from 4A then in the playoffs beat Sealy coming back in game 3 down 5 in the last inning then dismantled a Talented HJ team in 2 games before losing to #4 ranked Elgin in 2 close games. This was when they were in 3A but I would love to see this team play.
  12. no worries I'm just expressing my opinion and I appreciate you bringing facts to the table.
  13. logan is the last name. most BC people will know who he is I will not say why
  14. Lets not make this into a Lumberton thread. Anyways hows Nederland been doing in 7 on 7???
  15. The kid I'm talking about was held back so the weight will be 120 for him next year but dont drag me into your argument with the other guy. But as for dropping the weight for kids that were held back... It isnt really fair in my opinion. I understand why you change the weight because those kids have the extra year of physical maturity but you end up losing kids. There are alot of kids who have been held back these days for various reason. And as for my opinion on the weight limit, I played OL in highschool and college and I think that you need to give those types of kids an oppurtunity to play. Right now in the 6th grade class in Lumberton has 4 kids who are 5'11 plus who all weight above 150 and many more big kids who havent played or out grew the weight limit. We have one kid who is 210 and is a much better athlete than most of the kids in his age group. These guys need to be getting a chance to put the pads on and learn to play the game like everyone else.
  16. Best Buna team since the Tucker, Gatlin, Webb, Delome teams. best of luck to them!!!!
  17. The Lumberton Raiders enjoyed the best season in school history in 2007 with a first ever playoff appearance that included a trip to the regional semi-finals after beating power La Marque in the second round. One of the main reasons for the historic season was the play of sophomore standout linebacker Anthony Beard. The 6-foot, 205-pound quick-footed inside 'backer was all over the field in 2007, recording more than 100 tackles and close to 500 yards rushing in limited duty. UT Photo Texas is one of the schools on Anthony Beard's early list. Entering the season, Beard was thought of as a talented young prospect for Lumberton. By season's end, the first team All-Golden Triangle performer was being tabbed as one of the top sophomore linebackers in the state of Texas as well as being a key cog in a season and playoff run that brought a community together on Friday nights never seen before in the small town located on Highway 69. Beard says the season was one of teamwork and laying it all on the line. "I really don't know what to say about our season. We worked hard as a team, came together and played out butts off," Beard said. "Seven-on-seven really helped us come together. I think I did excellent, but I don't think I did as well as I can. I just worked my butt off. I think I can do better next year." With 4.7 40-yard dash time, Beard totaled 109 tackles, 13 tackles for loss and two sacks which was good for first team 22-4A all-district as well as honorable mention all-state. Blessed with a combination of a game gear and lateral quickness, Beard has already begun to attract college recruiters from around the region. The Golden Triangle native has a few schools that he has an interest in. "I like Texas Tech. I just like how they play. I like UT too. They are good. Texas A&M is a good school and Kentucky. I like Texas State too," Beard says. After the school year ends on May 31, the talented sophomore will turn his attention to attending several camps. "I think I'm going to Baylor (in Baytown) and Texas State maybe. I've got a few others. Every camp I hear about, I'll try to get to them. I'm going to try and get my name out there a little more," Beard said. Beard, who recorded 20 tackles against Little Cypress-Mauriceville in a game he said was "just one of those nights," says improving from sophomore to junior year is what is most important. "My goals for next year are to just do a lot better. Just play my butt off and hopefully we'll have another successful season," Beard said. Lumberton got the momentum rolling with a handful of wins to start the season, including an 8-7 win over Dayton to begin district play. The Raiders knocked off LaMarque 24-21 in the region III second round before being eliminated at the hands of Waller 42-14.
  18. Im talking about a kid who weights 145 who isnt being allowed to play and from what I understand is the weight rule has been changed 3 times in the last three years. Another thing is your discrimnating against kids who are bigger. Football is one of the only sports where bigger kids excel but your totally taking that sport away from them until middle school. I agree that there should be weight limits for Jr leauge but not for seniors because the next season 95 pound Johnny is gonna be going againts 195 pound bobby. Hes gotta learn sometime but kids ussually dont get hurt at that age at least not seriously because the game isnt played at full speed. The last time there was a serious injury to a kid in middle school was a kid breaking his ankle jumping a fence. Make a rule where 195 pound bobby cant play running back so he doesnt get a full head of steam before he rolls over those 95 pounders. Put bobby on the line so he just gets to push them down and lay on them.
  19. What I dont understand is why they keep changing the weight limits for kids? A friend of mines son cryed himself to sleep the other night bc they moved the weight down 30 pounds and now they are gonna go play lonestar football in silsbee. I think this is ludicris, yall need to pick a weight and stick with it. One that most kids can play at not just the skinny kids.
  20. Leslie Beard from Lumberton finished 8th in pole vault with a 10 ft vault
  21. I'm a Lumberton fan and I admit Micheals is the best back to comeout of the area since Jamal Charles
